 Ani yawned, stretching a little as she woke up from her dream. The fact that she was hungry was the first thing that occured to her... but it didn't bother her much. Nothing immanent. Not yet. Instead, she went through her daily excersizes, the only part of her life she put any real effort into.
She had to stay strong, her militant past had taught her that much. She had to fight for the right to stay alive... even though she honestly hadn't fought since she had run away from her pack. But the threat always loomed in the back of her mind.
After she was done though... hunger pans struck her once more. A shame, she would have liked to avoid eating for as long as possible... but hunger would make Zaafarani weak. And she couldn't have that. So the hunt was on.

 Rage, only just a short time ago, had also been suffering these pains of hunger. But the young half-blood was much more eager to do something about it. She hated to feel hungry. It was one of the many weaknesses she despised, but as a mortal, she was far to prone to it.
Ah, how lucky the Gods were!
She let these thoughts wander her mind unchecked as she finished of much as her unfortunate prey, a large wildebeest, that her stomach could hold. If she ate til her stomach felt uncomfortably heavy, then she wouldn't have to worry about eating again for a good while. With the places she travels, food could be quite scarce at times.
Finishing up around half of her meal, she pulled away, full, and contently groomed away any trace of the meal from her fur.

Ani walked for a good long while, and she was suprised when she suddenly came across a new scent... one farmiliar. One that had meant, for much of her life: Danger. Death. War. But not now... now, unless she was literally walking in on a murderous lion, it was likely that she would be able to be civil... but still, her nerves rose. Wierd. She wasn't used to that.
But still she approached, spotting the lioness... a lioness with food. It would be good if she could manage, somehow, to get her hands on what was left of the meal. No more hunting... but she wasn't entirely sure how she should go about asking.
Were lions and wild dogs really so different? No. No, surely she would be able to get along with her... somehow. Best way to go about it. Speak. That would probably about do it, "Hello there..." She said, slow but sure in her wording.

Red ears perked up at the soft words, and slowly Rage turned her head to look over to the wild dog that had approached her. Her body was not tensed for a fight, nor did she seemed to be concerned about the approach.
" Hello to you as well. " She replied, tone rather curious as the turned fully to face the wild dog, who seemed to be at least a little older than herself, as she had not yet reached adulthood.
Though she knew what one would look like in general, and could recognize one, this was her first time meeting a dog, and she really couldn't help but let her eyes wander the female in front of her. The descriptions she'd heard of them in her travels were a bit off. She'd heard everything from aggressive beasts, to frail weaklings about that particular species. In the end, they seemed fairly normal. Faster than her own species, likely. But probably not as strong when it came to sheer physical power.
She wondered why this one had approached, for only a moment, before she remembered the fallen prey at her side. " .. Are you hungry, miss? "

Ani glanced at the dead beast, and then back at the lion. At least the other creature wouldn't be hungry, so she didn't have to worry about bein eaten when she wasn't looking, "Only if you're done."
She wasn't a huge fan of scavenging... but this kill looked fairly recent. It would do nicely for a meal, if the lion would let her. Ani wasn't about to try anything as underhanded as stealing it. Not really because it was wrong, but just because that would take too much time and effort when she could probably just go and find something herself.
Though so far, the lion seemed quite polite, and that was a good sign. Zaafarani didn't really want to make enemies: she'd have to learn to avoid them, and as a hermit, that was sort of a nessesity. She would much rather meet a kind spirit, and then move on her way. Though most creatures she had met seemed fairly open minded.
But then, Ani had never spoken one-on-one with a lion before.
