Do you think that schools nationwide, should teach homosexuality as a unit in class? I think so since schools talk excessively about the Civil Rights Movement...

Um...no. I don't see how that could constitute an entire class. There are points that should be covered about the issue and I've had classes talk about it...but other than that...

What would there be to teach? I mean, we cover the Civil Rights Movement in history class because it's a significant time period in history. The Gay Rights movement is still on-going and it will be a decade or so before the mainstay of it concludes and makes it into the history books...what else is there, really, to teach?
I suppose you could include it in a "Contemporary Issues" or "Current Events" class, but those classes are more college-oriented (where schooling is optional) than primary-school-oriented (where schooling is compulsory).

Our teacher in health covered it briefly for a unit on sex-ed to tell people it applies the same as everyone who dates and all and be more mature about it. I believe in future years it might show up some in history because of how much struggle homosexual couples are going through fighting for their rights. But it will never be a major subject or class.

By the way...civil right protests were never whole classes in high school. They were covered within history. In college they can make up entire classes, but not in high school.

Covered, yes. Covered as an entire health unit, no. If it is to be taught in a health class, it might be able to cover up a week's worth of lessons. But it should be taught. Never hurt, eh?

I'm in agreement with Inune. Well said.

I believe that schools should teach that it's ok to be homo.
