s**t, I thought that was a good brand too. That and a revolver doing it like that. Maybe it was a bad heat treatment or a crack in the metal?
Then again it was reloads, so it could have been a round stuck there or overcharged, but I didn't think the whole top half could blow off like that.

The posts in that thread explain what might have happened.
Also: depending on the alloy, Scandium might not be too incredibly strong... there are Aluminum-Scandium alloys out there...

Also: depending on the alloy, Scandium might not be too incredibly strong... there are Aluminum-Scandium alloys out there... Well, I don't know much (anything) about scandium, but it is very possible for cost and weight. Fun side note- I've been practicing aluminum welding trying to get certified. The piece in the middle looks almost like when aluminum cracks. Hard to tell with just that one picture though.
