I've been thinking about trying to get my guardians to buy me a lever action .44 mag winchester or winchester copycat rifle. Im not sure how much I should spend or where a good site to order of would be. Halp?

Hmm, I think I saw one that was in some kind of cool caliber.
Either .45 Colt or .44 Magnum.
It had a hexagonal barrel too.
Personally, those carbines seem bad a**. I would definitely buy one but as for what brands I have no idea.

I've heard Legacy makes a pretty decent lever rifle.
Would you be willing to switch over to a pump action?
With a level action, you have to constantly re-grip every time you work the action.
That flaw isn't existent with a pump.
I heed you one warning, and one warning only (ooo, how dramatic!): stay the fudge away from 1873 pattern rifles. The modern 1873 can only withstand 23,000 CUP, which is about half of a modern .44's, .357's, and sometimes .45 Long Colt's factory loaded pressure.

And to mention something completely unconventional, Ruger makes a box-fed .44 magnum lever rifle marketed as the "Ruger Model 96", IIRC.
Also; the PREDECESSOR to the Ruger 10-22 was a .44 Magnum, uses the same box magazines as the Model 96. They're pretty neat rifles, and handle pretty nicely (I've held one at a store, was sah-weet ^.^).

I've shot a Ruger 10/44 and it is a nice rifle. Paired with a .44 magnum revolver, it's a winning combo!
Pity they took the 10/44 out of production decades ago. Used ones are still worth the research.
And I agree that the lever action Ruger replacement is a nice gun to look into.

i'm looking into a lever action .357/.38 cause i plan on having a .357 revolver in the near future. I have my .38 fixed up... but i want something else.
