This is a pen and ink drawing that I did a little bit ago. One of our projects in drawing class was to use patterns to show the form of an object. So, basically that's about all.

Wow. That's really neat.
We had to do something like that in my 2-d art class last year put in dots. I can't spell the name for what it's REALLY called, so I'll spare myself and just call it dots.
How long did it take you?
How big is the actuall peice?
Also, what kind of pen tips did you use for this? :O
I also notice the backround has it's own pattern/print too.
Cool :3

i clicked on this totally thinking i was going to get boobs D:
I have to say i really like this, it's all retro looking, like fifties or sixties home decor.
IN a few areas, the forms of different jugs arent as easy to see because the line types dont contrast very well, so they could stand to be more defined.
But i LOVE how the patterens follow the contours of the objects. That's great.

Thanks again for all of the great comments everyone. Now to answer some of the questions: On this project I used two different shapies, a fine tip and a fat tip (for larger patterns and background). The real size of the picture is roughly 1.5 feet by 3. I believe that it took me around 10-15 hours to finish. That includes the class time and the work at home.
@ Tawney: It did, but not as much as the stippling project I did afterwards. (20-25 hours) @ Claire Voyant: I've got another picture that I think you'll like. It's one done in the same stippling pattern that I think your saying... Once my art teacher gets finished grading them, I'll steal it to take a picture or something. @ ficklefiend: I'm really glad that you like it. Some of the cooler ones in the class were pictures of teeth and high heels. @ Tsugari: Yes. I get a gold medallion. Thanks! @ Page Boy: I'm sorry about the title. I thought that it was humerous and fit kinda with the picture. Next time I'll draw some boobs for you to see. I see what your saying about the patterns. (mainly the shot glasses) I'm glad that you like it though.
Again thanks everyone.

Wow, this is really stellar... definitely one of the best pen and ink drawings I have seen. This must have been a pain to ink! I've noticed art like this is becoming more and more popular these days... it almost looks like something you could find at Crate and Barrel or Ikea. heart

My boyfriend might hate it, but I'd put it on my wall if it were on canvas.
