Rachel stared around the room he'd been assigned to teach in. He'd have much preferred if it had say a window, both for his and for the students' benefits, but beggars can't be choosers.
And speaking of begging, he honestly hoped he didn't get fired for what he had planned on doing to part of the room. The walls were totally white - something that vaguely unnerved him but he, again, could cope - save for three medium sized rectangles he'd painted on there with black paint. There was also a punching bag on a stand that he'd attached to the floor. It could be adjusted for the height of the user - in this case his new student. There were paints and a sheet with paint stains laid out by the wall with the rectangles as well.
Hopefully his plan for the student he was to have would be successful. She was listed as a Dilligence-Wrath combination with Wrath dominant. Essentially, that made her a perfect tank in a fighting situation, but given how Wrath was dominant, it wasn't quite perfect yet. He had a feeling this girl hadn't exercised her other half much at all, which is what he planned on having her do that day. The punching bag was to show her how it applied to her other half.
Well, the only way to see if the plan worked was to try it. All he had to do before getting started was wait for his student. Mareike should be showing up any time about then and he was interested to see how dealing with her would be.

Again Mareike was back at this place again, she was beginning to think they were planning on trapping her here like Adriel. Especially since she was supposed to be here to learn something about herself or something like that. Well whatever she learned it better not get her locked up in a bubble becuase she was ' dangerous' to others. As she walked down the hall towards the designated room the maroon skinned girl pacified herself with the fact that Adriel's mother had taken him to the facility and Nickle would never give her up dangerous or not.
Entering the class all three of her eyes searched the room for anything of interest and found really only who she thought must be the teacher. " Are you Mr. Pateko?"

Rachel was seated on one of two beanbag chairs that were in the room (more economical than finding real good chairs) and doing his looking around from there. At Mareike's question he nodded calmly, not really rising to greet her.
"You can have a seat if you like. Close the door behind you, if you could - the techs somewhat unnerve me and I don't need them staring during class." he stated calmly, head resting lightly on his one hand as he spoke.

Mareike smiled and closed the door. " I hate when they stare at me too." really just becuase wrath was an uncontrollable demon didn't mean she was. After all she'd only ever hurt one tech there and that was when they wouldn't tell her where they were hiding her friend. Mostly she just ignored them.
Mareike ruffles the feathers in her her wings as she shook her head. " I can stand." Standing was almost always more comfortable than sitting and you could move easier too . " So what am I going to learn" she frowned " I already go to school you know." the young girl already found some subjects in school pointless and it was possible that what she learned here would be useless too.

"Yes, well I don't determine that you have to learn. Mostly just what you learn." he said with a shrug, not really moving his head from his hand, though he kept his eyes on her.
"Well, I planned on you doing something dull and boring to hone your diligence side and increase your focus. If you can successfully focus on something you don't like, I'd assume it would probably help in things you do like too." the man explained, gesturing at the paint set up behind him.
"You're mostly just going to be painting stuff in those 3 rectangles. The punching bag is for when you need a break. You pretty much just need to try to paint something out of your head into that area and concentrate till you've finished with each rectangle. S'about it really."

Painting on the walls sounded fun enough although weather or not she'd care enough to finish three pictures was uncertain. Still Mareike nodded and went to grab a paint brush. As she dipped the tip into green paint and approached the first triangle she wondered vaguely what exactly it was she wanted to paint, aside from something green.
Staring at the rectangle and idea quickly came and Mareike busied herself applying paint to the edges of the designated area. It was trickier that it look and the paint seemed unwilling to cooperate with her concept of clean lines and not dripping at the top.

Rachel leaned back over his chair so he could see her behind him. "The paint's really awkward when you first use it, but if you keep concentrating and practicing with that first one, you'll probably do better on the next ones." he explained, stretching a bit.
"oh, and you can use the area around the rectangles to dab paint for testing colors and the way to do lines.......and just to doodle when you're bored but don't want to mess up your picture." he added as an afterthought.

Mareike nodded and given permission to paint outside her designated zone she began to experiment learning how to make the edges cleaned how to not put on so much paint it dripped down the brush on to her fingers and more interesting how to mix colours to get new ones, even if she already had said mixed colour.
In the end the wall surrounding her picture was just as filled as the first picture itself. not that Mareike had created a pictures so much as a series of outlined with contrasting light and dark colours that were just a bit disorienting to look at. Although to her the design was interesting. Even if there were a few misplaced splotches of colour here and there.
" Done" she stated and looked back at her teacher for approval. She had to admit that this was sort of fun but also a bit frustrating that the paint still didn't always do what she wanted and it had to stay so very careful still to paint proper lines.

Rachel looked over towards the wall, inspecting it to see that she'd completed her first rectangle. Nodding, he smiled slightly with approval.
"All right. You can take a break for a bit. Sit down, mess with the punching bag, run around the room. Do whatever. Standing there the whole time to paint is a bit tiring and tedious, so you may wanna work out a bit of energy in between pictures. You can do the next one when you feel you're ready."
In all honesty, it actually seemed a reasonable setup. In his book, Mareike was currently ranked among his better students. He hadn't had many who did what he wanted and were actually eager to try his bizarre lessons, so that won her a few points with him. But then, if one thought about it, Rachel was actually rather easy to please if you were cooperative, which most of his old students hadn't been. The Wrath girl was though, at least currently, so that was good.

Mareike grinned and darted across the room towards the punching bag. She wasn't really annoyed or anything yet but she'd never been able to use one properly. The ones within the group at the society had always been occupied by larger older people whom even Mareike had no intention of messing with and Nickle refused to buy anything for her until she stopped " sporadically changing" as he put it. It wasn't her fault that her changes in speed and power came in random bursts.
Taking a few experiment swings at it Mareike found that the punching bag really wasn't going to be an easy target. it seemed made for her strength and undistractable unlike actual people who felt pain. It didn't take long for her to be lost in the steady rhythmic one too of hits landing with reasonable strength if not skill. subconsciously it was soothing since the motions required no focus and were almost instinctual .
This allowed mareike's mind to wander just a little to the creative side. " I'm gonna paint my tennis racket next" she declared.

"So long as you don't get in trouble for it." he commented, stretching out in his chair and attempting to think up some sort of lesson plans for other students he'd been assigned. They came on different days but still, he never really knew what to teach till like the day before. The only way he'd even come up with the set up for Mareike was he wanted the room painted to get rid of the 'sterile, not lived in' feel and had had a sudden burst of inspiration.
"Some people don't really want you painted on their stuff or in their houses, so you'll have to ask around before you do that. Though if you wanna do more of it and aren't allowed at home, you're more than welcome to come back here and do it. This room freaks me out being all white and clean." he stated, voice steady as he started grumpily at the ceiling.

Mareike paused to shake her head and laugh at the man " no in rectangle not at home. " she frowned" we're not allowed to change our rackets at us in case it looks like maybe we used magic on them to make us win or something" The thistle haired girl shook her head again " couldn't there be invisible magic?" Really that one girl in the class couldn't possibly win all the time the fair way right?

"You never know. Some people are just that damn skilled." he grumbled, rolling his eyes a bit at the last bit. "And some are very good at cheating without being seen - or blinding the eyes of those who might see."

Mareike sighed and headed back to the paints. " cheating is stupid , either do it right or not at all." Not lying and not cheating those were personal rules and the rules of her group and Mareike both fully understood an agreed with them. If you couldn't win by playing fair then you didn't deserve to win. It was like kids who got the swings at recess by paying other kids in snacks to get there first and reserve them. That was cheating and not fair.
Carefully dipping the tip of her brush into black paint Mareike made sure she had just enough paint on it before beginning to outline her tennis racket. Or at least something that looked fairly similar to one.

Rachel couldn't agree with the girl more. Cheating was a royal pain in the a** and couldn't be more annoying. Particularly being brought up in a place where someone could threaten his life and cheat their way out of it, but if he even looked at someone wrong, he could be thrown in jail. "Yes, cheating is terrible." he mumbled, offhand.
