A princess, fleeing her country. Because she is illegitimate, her people have rebelled against her, since her father has met his untimely death.
She is only accompanied by her trust-worthy vassal, the only man who knows she is a princess and NOT a prince, as everyone else thinks.
The nights are cold and the days are long. They must ride out of the kingdom, into the friendly arms of Eopia, the bordering republic, before they are found. But riding through the wilderness of the harsh Plains is difficult, and they are weary.
Much farther north, many more people flee for their lives. An insane order has been given - the order to kill an Empire. The emperor, blinded by his corrupted royal adviser, seeks to kill all the magi - the magically talented - in his empire, the great Bealtian kingdom.
The capital city of Erebus wept with the blood of hundreds in one night. And in the next few, the entire mountain range will weep with the blood of thousands.
To the northwest of Baelta, the elves are threatened in their home by a mysterious storm that is off the coast, sowing destruction in the stormy seas of the Great Bay. No ships can pass anymore... all that try disappear, most likely to the bottom of the sea. The elves are curious, for they know that this storm is unnatural - it is a Great Storm. Either elemental or man-made, but it is not natural. It will spell disaster for all life on the continent of Mythicaa if it is not understood, and stopped.
One elf, a scholarly traveler who is visiting the land across the Great Bay - the desert kingdom of Rantuinne - sees the storm from the other side, and is also intrigued and puzzled. He may be the only one in the position to stop this Storm, however.
But that is assuming he survives the troubles Rantuinne is having within her own borders. Creatures have begun appearing from the Great Sands - likely due to the Storm, they are now emerging - and killing all humans - and elves, if they can find any. The other, regular predators of the Great Sands are also more ferocious than ever. It is a bleak time for many in the Great Land (Mythicaa), and trouble arises at every corner.

Storyline Plot 1: An Uncivil WarThe kingdom of Favraes is at war - with itself. With the king dead, the only live heir is his b*****d son - who is actually a girl, but this is unknown to anyone but the princess' attendant.
An alliance of several dukes have banded together, and seek to take the throne. Although the capital had men and power, they could not survive long with a blockade preventing supplies from reaching the city. Eventually, they surrendered.
The princess and her attendant have fled the capital, and are in hiding in the city of Utopia (Eopia's capital).
The Royal Champion is determined to find his 'prince' and restore the true Royalty to the throne. Although the rebel faction holds the capital, they do not have the support of all of Favraes' people. Particularly, the commoners, of whom strive to hinder the nobles at every turn. They have no ill will towards their illegitimate 'prince.'
At the head of the Noble Rebellion, is seated the Duke of Elmire. This man seeks to be the ruler of this country, and has only nefarious and malignant intent for the kingdom for if he manages to seize the throne.
As it is, Elmire's Duke cannot. The Seven Royal Artifacts must be retrieved (from the Royal Champion, who has stolen them away and hidden six) and the Grand Bishop of the Fayth must be found from the underground, where he is hiding.
The Noble Rebellion has weapons, power, and money. The only thing they don't have is men - the ratio of commoners to soldiers and nobles combined is startlingly high. Only a Symbol to lead the commoners in taking back their kingdom - a Crowned Prince - can lead them to take action and drive the nobles out.
However, the Royal Champion is missing, now, as well, and Baelta's forces are knocking on Favraes' doorstep. Now, for any hope of survival, the opposing factions of Favraes must unite and stand together or be conquered separately and alone.Plot 2: Magicka Irradicata
Episode Completed. Baelta, city of riches. A grand palace, a wizened old king, and a tyrannical, oppressive royal adviser.
The Baeltian Empire, where minerals and gemstones are mined continuously, the imperials digging deeper and deeper into the crust of the world.
In the brutal, rash act of hostility against the Magi, dubbed the 'Magicka Irradicata,' many Magi were hunted down and slain. Very few escaped the country alive, and of those, is the son of a noble, escorted by his only surviving family member, a cousin of sorts, and one other Magus.
Also, escaped from Baelta, is the enigmatic Ephlas, who joined forces with a small band of varied races, pro-Favraen in nature.Plot 3: Storm of the Alchemist A storm brews above the world. This is unlike any other storm - it does not move. It does not calm. It does not spare those who are unfortunate to fall under its wrath.
This storm - this Storm - is an oddity, an irregularity. It is a freak of nature, or possibly of something entirely more malevolent. The whole continent of Mythicaa feels the Storm's effects, but only above Baelta, and in the seas where its power is intensified, is it at its worst.
The skies are ever drab and gray, with sunshine being only occasionally glimpsed in the most southern reaches of the continent.
In the desert nation of Rantuinne, the storm's effects are felt as well, even if rather less intensely. But Rantuinne has other problems. Out of the sands come the Horde - a species of insectoid creatures, somewhat sentient, who are now attacking all humans in the desert. The cities are barely safe anymore, let alone the Great Sands. A traveling scholar from Ylos - an elf, a sorcerer - is very curious about the beasts. He suspects that they've been agitated by the Great Storm, as it has been dubbed. By now, the entire west coast feels the harsh effects of the Storm. Life is slowly decaying. Death is quickly occurring.
The Ruler of Rantuinne refuses to call for aid, however, and sends his men to purge the desert clean of these beasts. But the Sand Wyrms and the Sky Divers are both agitated as well. Between these, and the Sand Demons, as the insectoid creatures have been dubbed, the humans stand no chance.
The problem must be solved at the source: the Storm.
But, time is running out. The Horde is spreading....Plot 4: Council of the Stewards There are five Stewards, each of a separate and distinct power, although all are interconnected. Each Steward possesses and protects the sanctity and integrity of their own power, and in return that power protects them.
Stewards are not allowed to identify themselves; their mission is the most divine and sacred, for with their hands they protect the strings that tie together the world.
Fire.
Land.
Sea.
Sky.
Light.
These are the elements. They are more than they appear. Somewhere, hidden deep in the most remote reaches of Mythicaa, is an ancient city. This city is magical in nature, and is a common ground for any Magus in need. Or, it used to be, generations ago. Now the city is forgotten, formed only short of two thousand years ago, and the council is perished. Or, is it?
The Stewards do not choose their place. Their position chooses them. They have no choice; they must serve, for they are the most capable.
When a Steward dies, the next suitable person in line becomes the new Steward of that element. But - it has been over a thousand years, and no Steward has come to light for three of the five elements. Of the other two, a tight, secret reign is kept on their identity. For now.
This ancient city - it is called Halbrontr.Plot 5: The Forever Demon Something worse than the most powerful demon from hell; the Temptress. An immortal being, so they say, that tempts and kills anyone and everything. It's power is immense, insurmountable, beyond imagination. It is one of the Ancient Four - four massive entities of ultimate destruction. All four were sealed away, long, long ago, but someone has been attempting to release the Temptress, the strongest of the four. If the Goliath, the Horder, and the Enigma (the other three) are all unleashed, there will be no way to prevent the Celestial Seal from being broken, after which the Temptress would destroy the world...s.
The HORDER has been unleashed. His power has flooded the deserts of Rantuinne, and its cities are cut off from the world. There IS, however, someone--a hidden ally--attempting to resist and weaken the Horder's powers. This ally is saving time for the entire world. If a certain country cannot sort out its civil war and fend off invaders, it will be unable to react to the true threat--the threat to the entire world.

Conditions Rules You must follow these rules, listed in order of most severe to least. I. Follow all of Gaia's rules. Keep everything PG-13. No cybering.
II. Be active, be literate. I cannot stress enough how you must be able to compose sentences and use quotation marks, parentheses, and italics correctly. Asterisks are only allowed in OOC (Out-Of-Context).
III. Of course, do not godmod (god-moderate) - this includes killing, being perfect at hitting or dodging, and having your character know things he/she can't possibly know.
IV. Rules, rules... no Japanese names, please. This RP is in English, therefore names must be English. Or, made up. But not Japanese. No vampires, no dragons, and I retain the ultimate right to rebuke any other races not mentioned here. Which means that your race may or may not be accepted; it all depends on the race itself.
V. If you'd like to join, send me a private message or PM containing the one smiley face emoticon that doesn't contain yellow. Do not send me a dramallama . Title it "Epic Myths."
The skeleton below is only for your own characters. Pre-made characters have unique skeletons which I WILL SEND to anybody who requests the character. First come, first serve.
Failure to comply with these rules will result in your expulsion from this RP at my discretion. Basic Skeleton Username: Name: Age: Race: (I want nationality, not ethnicity.) Appearance: (descriptions allowed) Personality: Background: Theme Song: (optional) Other: (optional)
The "Other" line would be a good place to list sexuality, hopes, fears, anything else you want that I didn't include. Not required, of course, however.

The World So, I should tell you all a little more about Mythicaa, right? That's the name of the continent on which this RP unfolds. Favraes Capital: Faras Favraes is a large, land-locked kingdom located across the Great Plains of Elta (which is commonly just called 'The Elta'). Commoners farm the land, but few rivers actually mar the world's surface here. A large portion of Favraes' economy focuses on trade, as Favraes is located at the center of the continent and is a common through-way for merchants and travelers. Baelta Capital: Erebus The Baeltian empire is located to the north, in the Valtican - a deadly mountain range full of bandits, predators, and worse. Atop a high plateau, and in surrounding areas, lays the capital city - Erebus. Mines tunnel deep into the surrounding mountains - caves, both natural and man-made, are everywhere. But, the creatures that inhabit these abandoned caves.... Eopia Capital: Utopia The Republic of Eopia, ruled by a council of elders known as the Grand Six. Located along the seacoast, Eopia's economy relies greatly on the sea. The Korubin Isles off the coast, while currently in a tribal feud, are known as Eopian colonies. Eopia receives many exotic spices and such - exports - from the Korubin Isles. Korubin Isles No capital The Korubin Isles, a colony of Eopia, and the only known islands off the coast of Mythicaa. Eopia imports very rare and expensive spices, exotic fruits, and unique animal pelts from these islands. Typically, there are two sides to the conflict (and there is always conflict) in Korubin: there are the merchants, and there are the pirates. Think of the Korubinos as you would the ancient Caribbean - gambling, rum, pirates, ships, (in some cases) cannons, robbery, murder, romance, adventure, and rogue-ish charm. Eopia holds a tight reign on these islands, but crime and murder rule the underworld here. Magic, for some reason, is also extremely limited in this land of hot and wet rain forests. Also, if you plan to visit, be wary of going inland; not all the native species, including humans, are friendly. Ylos Capital: [unpronounceable] Jkettskosgrvrv Pronounced, 'Elos,' Ylos is the home of the elves. Located on a northern peninsula, a completely forested area that is guarded by the Valtican, a massive and very treacherous mountain range. The forest, called V'yet by humans and simply 'the Wood' by the elves, is magical in nature, holding deep secrets that only those chosen by the Wood can discover. Elves are moderately disdainful of outsiders, and frown upon any elf leaving the Wood for any reason. Rantuinne Capital: Al-Maas Rantuinne is the kingdom that spreads across the Great Desert, which is commonly just referred to as the 'Rantuinne Desert.' Because all its major cities border the ocean, Rantuinne manages to survive each harsh year, and no other kingdom is adapted to such blistering heat and sun. This prevents Rantuinne from suffering to surprise attack, very efficiently. The Trinity By their inhabitants, Favraes, Eopia, and Baelta are commonly called the "Trinity." That is, they are relatively close, neighboring kingdoms, all ruled by humans and of mostly human citizens. These "Trinitians," as they were, are generally fair-skinned, fair-haired folk, most all of which, even the peasants, having been the descendant of some type of noble, long ago. The Outer Rind Also commonly called this by Trinitians, "Outer Rind" includes all three non-Trinitian countries - Korubin, Ylos, and Rantuinne. Their citizens - in the case of humans - were dark-skinned, unruly-haired, and of no recognizable descent. The elves were separate from humans, and have had and do have little to no interest in human affairs.

Mythic -The Ancient Language-
To perform magic with any structure, you must use a magical language to bind your magic within specific rules. Deep Magic, with nameless spells, is very dangerous. Here is a list of the different words I've compiled. This is called Mythic, or the Ancient Language.
And I did not say that Mythic was the only magical language.
Mythic Language:
Elements:
Ice - Lune Light - Letos Energy - Cirset Fire - Eflamos Wind - Odann Sound - Geveka Earth - Tempra Holy - Letosacus Dark - Animagos Gravity - Bramados Water - Lenetra
Ethereal - Lethrgigas Esuptraa - Life Nethrobol - Death
Geography:
Sea - Tela Land - Luca Dry - Sempa High - Valto Low - Verce Wet - Luno Shore - Lucuno Hot - Sempobol Cold - Lunobol
Adjectives:
Great - Nor Bounty - Lumita Deadly - Skurruta Bad - Obol Rapid - Arca
Symbolism:
Summon - Tekontos Ward - Faorne Elude - Sparlet Deflect - Jeagorne Locate - Vortay
This is not comprehensive or exact. Lumita means 'bounty,' for example, but is used as 'bountiful' or 'plentiful' on the world map.
Tela means 'sea,' for another example, yet can be used as Lake, Sea, Ocean, River, or really, any body of water.
Most of Mythic is not known by any of the modern races. These words, although known by some, aren't even all in the common vocabulary. And it is very rare for anyone not royalty or a Magus to know any words at all.
Mythic is not exact, and it is quite cryptic to modern races. It is a magical language, one that can be used for magical structure. I can add to this whenever I choose, but I'll usually tell everyone on the current page when this is updated. It will also be featured in the UPDATE post, so there you go.

It is a time for... Legends. Here is where you shall find a brief legend encompassing all that Mythicaa's unique races are. Among these are the founders of Mythicaa, or so they claim, and it is true that you should not believe everything you hear. These legends are passed down through the generations by mankind, and such a race is quite known for their tendencies to embellish, as we all know.... Quote: The Magruev are a race most ancient. They are known to have existed before the humans, before the elves, before anything else. They are the Watchers of the World, and that is all they do. They watch. Magruev are best described as large snakes, or so they say, but these snakes are long enough to span the continent, and their knowledge and wisdom is absolute. They possess omniscient capabilities, and know all. It is said that the world is their plaything, and that for the last millennium or ten they have just let history run its course, observing the choices that life's inhabitants make. The Magruev never fight, never kill, and never consume.Fact:The Magruev are reptilian, snake-like creatures. They are probably as wide around as a bull at the greatest, and have a length to match, but no one can say how long they can live to and how large they can grow. Magruev are quite sentient, but no one has seen a 'true' Magruev since before the Draon and Ganzi walked the land. They may herald from a continent other than Mythicaa. The Magruev are a quiet, subdued race, and may actually possess some form of higher mind power. All but the oldest are much smaller than the above bull-reference, and the creatures can shift shape and are vampiric in nature. But, once again, no one has ever seen a Magruev in... a long time. They may also be exinct. But the legends shall live on.... Quote: Academy Library: DraonsThe ancient race of the Draons were a race of reptilian city-builders, favoring smooth styles. They were masters of magics that were so complex, that Draon artifacts are useless for humans to use. The descendants of dragons, they were very competitive, and fought wars with races they opposed in what is now Rantuinne, Favraes, and Eopia long before humans had control over the land. They constructed great shrines and temples in certain areas of the world, and assigned powerful guardians, capable of decimating cites, in each one. They were allies of the Ganzi, but were quick to kill any who opposed them. Draons loved to have their blades honed to perfection, and even after many years, Draon blades, forged in the fires of volcanoes, are far sharper than human swords... and much heavier as well. Draons were so strong, they could punch their way through bedrock. It is considered a good thing that they are extinct, for the race was wiped out by the Horde. The most deadly Draons to ever live were the Dark Knights, practitioners of deadly shadow energies and life-draining powers. Quote: Excerpts from a renowned alchemist's journal say that demons come from a place of agony commonly referred to as Hell and come in many different varieties. No two demons are the same, though all have a passion for destruction of all sorts. Horn size indicates the power of a demon, which usually manifests in physical strength, though in rare cases magic. Some demons have ranks, which are judged solely by fighting prowess. Demons are created by very strong negative feelings of mortals, such as hate, anger and even vengeance. The stronger the feeling, the stronger the demon, and however long the feeling lasts, so will the demon exist. A demon is raised to Earth by a strong act of sorcery specific to the purpose of raising said demon, and they are put down in the same way (though will disappear if they are killed). A demon is a damned being. Quote: The ancient manuscripts speak of the noble Ganzi, a race of strange creatures who hail from across the sea. Driven hastily forward by progress and new technology and led by a wise council of skilled Ganzian sorcerers known as the Prime Four, most Ganzi are alchemists or mages who stay secluded from the world, left to their ceaseless studies of magic. The Ganzi are also highly religious, worshipping the god they know as Ganziga, who is said to have saved the Ganzi from eminent destruction in the early years, during their decade-long conflict with the malevolent Guinne Empire. Said to live under the desert in a city wedded with mushrooms and stone, the Ganzi carry out their lives in perpetual twilight, learning and furthering their creation of magical items.
The Ganzi hold an enduring tradition; they never reveal the face behind their peculiar masks. When a Ganzi comes of age, he gets his/her first helmet, a prized heirloom chosen by the parents of the Ganzi. Most Ganzi prefer not to fraternize with other races, but others travel the world, making alliances with the different tribes. There are two types of Ganzi; the Desert Ganzi, with crimson red fur, who reside under Rantuinne, and the Island Ganzi, with bluish-green fur, who live on the Korubin Isles. Over the years, the two species began to quarrel with each other, and soon went their seperate ways. Extreme bitterness now lingers among many in both tribes. Quote: The Rincaida are a race old as humans, and very similar. The most distinct differences are that they breathe fire, hatch from eggs, are very tiny until about age thirteen (when the grow very quickly in many intervals until about age twenty-one), and that they never leave their mothers, which results in very large family groups. ...You should note that these ARE exaggerated, and to be taken with a grain of salt.
