So much had happened since his mother had left him at the borders of the Pridelands. He'd a new family, a pride, and someone who understood him better than anyone else...even if Narci could be a butt sometimes. But...Tama wouldn't change his black friend for the world. After all...Narci had taught Tama to take some pride in how he looked, and often saved him from the torture of Irit gnawing on his tail...The red-eyed cub didn't much like Narci for some odd reason. Maybe their egos were too big for each other?
He chuckled as his paws reached his destination. He'd gone beyond the borders for a bit, smile on his face. He'd gone to where it had all started...where his mother had placed him, telling him he had important things to do. The white lion took a deep breath. This was where Dari had found him, before they'd run off into the Pridelands with their wild game of tag.

The scent of flowers she hadn't smelled in a good long while had drawn Elua away from the group for now, seeking to bury her nose among the sweet-smelling blooms again. Her step was light and her smile bright as she made her way, oblivious to much of the world. Well...not really oblivious. Just not bothering to be paranoid and see danger with every step. She found the flowers, bright red and yellow, and she flopped into the midst of the large patch, happily churring away.
That's when her orange eyes caught something. A flash of white against the gold of the grass and blue of the sky. Curious, she looked closer and saw the white thing was a lion, his mane just growing in. Elua blinked, intrigued. A white lion? He was a pretty thing, tall and gangly in a way that promised grace. She stood and trotted over, petals sticking to her fur.
"Good day, white one!"

Tama startled and looked at the cheetah with wide blue eyes. "Hello, miss." He smiled softly. "It is most certainly a good day! Clear skies, cool breezes, and interesting encounters! I do think life is being kind to me today."
The cheetah was interesting...She had this feeling of serenity to her, and a smile that screamed 'I LOVE THE WORLD!'. "What brings you to this part of the world?"

Ah...It was always nice to meet someone who seemed to find as much to enjoy in life as she did. She laughed softly. "Very kind indeed, to me as well. For much the same reasons. Not often you see a lion white as yourself!" And his eyes! Like looking at the sky! Elua wouldn't forget this beauty anytime soon!
"I am a wanderer, letting my paws take me where they will. There is much to see in the world, and a great deal of beauty to love." Her smile was calm. "I'm Elua. What's your name, pretty one?"

Tama flushed, chuckling embarrassedly. "Yes...I do seem to be an oddity. But I rather like my fur..." His chuckle held no more embarrassment in it. "But that might be my friend rubbing off on me. I love him dearly, but he's a bit of a vain peacock." He sat down, tail wrapping around his front legs.
"I'm Tama. And...thank you for the compliment." He seemed to sit taller, glad someone else could see his good looks as just that, rather than strangeness. "It must be interesting, the things you see. I'm quite happy in the Pridelands, truth be told. I've got family, and friends...There's even another white cub."

The Pridelands? Ah...Elua had heard of them. A good pride, that seemed full of good creatures. "Being vain isn't always bad...sometimes, it can get you very far. After all...vain creatures often seem to attract the prettiest of company." Not always the smartest, but certainly the prettiest. Elua wasn't sure what category she fell in...but she was happy just being her.
"Hm...you have a very pretty name to go with your pretty face. You know...there's a patch of flowers not far from here. If you don't mind, I could decorate your mane with some. They're a bright red and yellow, a perfect contrast to your eyes and fur!"

Tama chuckled. That was true...Narci had a habit of attracting the good-looking. He looked about and spotted the flowers she was talking of and nodded. "Sure...I don't mind." He grinned. "I rather like flowers. They tend to smell as nice as they look." He stood and shook some of the dust from his rump, batting what was left off with a paw.
"Lead the way, Elua."

Elua grinned back and trotted to the flowers, immediately looking for the best ones. "Nothing less than the best for a pretty face." She rather liked this one. Most creatures became flustered by her flirting or took it farther. Tama just took it in stride, like it was any other conversation. It was refreshing.
Once she felt she had enough good flowers, she motioned for the white lion to lay down. "You're quite a bit taller than I am."

Tama followed her, suddenly rather aware of the fact he was taller than her. He smiled at that. Not too long ago, he would have been smaller. But he was big now! Although...Narci had called him an ogre a couple of times...but still! He wasn't tiny anymore! At her request, he flopped down in the flower patch.
It did smell wonderful. And the flowers were even prettier up close. He settled himself so Elua would have an easier time of putting the flowers in his half-grown mane.

Elua happily began placing the flowers she'd picked into Tama's mane. It was like adding splashes of color to a cloud! "What's your family like?" Elua was rather curious about families lately. She had Leru, and her cousin Eisheth recently showed up. But beyond them...Elua knew very little about families. And when Elua saw families, they were a very beautiful thing...so it only made sense to her to find out more about them.

Tama blinked, then smiled. "Very nice. I have a lot of siblings, and my Mom and Dad are very kind. And they love each other a LOT. Dad even joined the pride for Mom, so he could be near her and us." He chuckled. "I'm not related to them by blood...but it doesn't much matter to us." He pouted at that point. "Though my sister Irit could chew on my tail a little less."

Elua giggled. "She chews on your tail? That must hurt a bit." Elua was rather glad no one had chewed on her tail. Though she had been pounced on, batted at, chased, and numerous other things cubs did to those who watched them. But the earthy cheetah didn't mind. She loved cubs, and their pure imaginations and ability to see beauty as she did. "Where's your blood family?"

Tama shook his head. "It's just uncomfortable. I think she makes sure it doesn't hurt. Irit may cause a lot of trouble...but she's sweet underneath it all." He smiled at that. He wondered if she'd end up with a friend like he had in Narci...That would certainly be interesting. At the mention of his blood family, he shrugged.
"Mother left me with the Pridelands, because I was supposed to do something important there. She Saw and Knew things...She said she'll come back one day, when the time is right for us to see each other again." He chuckled. "I look forward to that day, so she and Mom can meet each other."

Elua felt proud of Tama for a moment. He was still rather young, and yet he held a wisdom and compassion far beyond his years. She felt glad she'd run across him. Not only was he beautiful on the outside, his beauty permeated the soul beneath the fur. "I'm sure that will be an interesting meeting...the one who gave birth to you, and the one who saw you grow into the beauty you are now." She finished placing the flowers in his mane and admired her handiwork. She'd been right...the bright flowers looked wonderful in his white fur.

The lion nodded. "I hope...I hope Mother will be proud of me...and I know she'll be grateful to Mom. Mom sometimes acts like Mother just...abandoned me. But I know if she meets her, she'll know the truth I know." He purred and rolled over. "So what of your family, Elua?"
