Up in the forest canopy, ribbons of cool night air, dance gingerly through the leaves. Below the tops of evergreen, the dark forest is almost still. Only a whisper of wind above breaks into it's silence. The long ears of one mare, tune in to what the wind has to say. It speaks to her, calling her to wake. Crystal eyes open, her head lifts. This is the call she waits to hear with eager ears, and rises to it's beckon, with baited breath.
"Chill of night, I welcome you." whispers the violet mare, as she rises elegantly from her resting spot.
Smirking seductively at her forest, she pays homage to the early evening with a deep sigh. This is their time. Lifting her frail wings from her side and positioning them upright behind her, her feet begin to carry her away. Each step is careful and well placed. Tonight, the journey will continue. Light steps that bring Elune closer to knowing her love even more. Endlessly, the trees keep calling her further and further. For a while now, she has watched the terrain change before her. Every new leaf and dark bark has brought her great satisfaction. She's listened to the whispers as they change, telling their stories, giving their names. What will they tell her on this eve?
Eyes of ice widen. A gasp is heard as Elune's breath is stolen away from her. In front of her is a scene like none other, a gift. Before her, the forest grows upward, flowing effortlessly up the rising land. The moonlight seems to be piercing through a hole punched in the canopy above. Everything is lit up with a serene glow. On the ground, there is snow, painted a burning bright blue by the moon. It mirrors it's blue light over all the normal colors of forest. The night has never been more beautiful.
Had she continued her journey any further the night before, she might of missed it. The timing is perfect.
Closing her eyes, Elune steps forward slowly, pausing underneath the moons glow. The moon glints off her silver jewelry, giving it a twinkle, a life of it's own. Silently, she listens, waiting to hear what the trees in the light have to say.
