I would like to take a little time to see how long you have all been in the fandom, or how long you have actually been a furry.
I have been a furry for 8 years now.

ive drawn furrys when i was little. my parrents thought it was just a drawing obsession but they still dont know i am a furry. ive always thoughtof myself having a tail and ears. teh only thing that was different was the fact i was a cat when i was little to being a wolfox today....so am i considered a furry...even tho i changed my fourm a little

I've had an obsession with white tigers for years now, but I never really took the step into "furry". In supporting Astu in his furry guild, I decided to put on more than just kitty ears and go the route of the white tiger furry. I have however loved movies and shows personifying animals in any way, from giving them voices to all out anthro.

*nuzz* I appreciate the support, too. I've been interested in anthro going on 12 years now, but only in the last 6 (almost 7) have I really understood the depth of it all, so I only claim the six.

I've always liked anything that gives animals some sort of human connection, whether it be talking or walking on two legs. Although in the last 3 years I've understood the real meaning behind a furry. I always thought it'd be fun to have ears and a tail though. sweatdrop

It's only been about 4 1/2 years for me...or so i'm not quite sure but i know it is around 4 or 5 now.Kitty Kitty Meow!

I feel like i'm so uneducated about furry sweatdrop i've started to call myself a furry only two years ago but i've been drawing furries since i was young i just didn't know it was furry

im not sure. ever since i was little i LOVED animals and always imagined myself as a blue flying tiger that liked to swim, although imagining i had fur felt funny. then one day it hit me. i was a dragon at heart and it just feels right. i love wearing costumes and being different. less than a year ago i saw a thing that mentioned furries. i looked into it further and found that i yearned for the community. im still learning so bear with me mrgreen

I've been a furry ever since StarFox 64 first came out, and possibly even before then, back when Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM cartoons were playing. Lupe of the Wolfpack Freedom Fighters was my first obsession. So yeah, I've been a furry for about 20 years, give or take a few years.

Maybe three years but not completely sure....At least that's when I found out what 'furry' was, then again I've been into some part of it before hand but not as much as I have been over the past few years.
Same can be said for anime and stuff like that. Technically I didn't know (and most people I know as well) what 'anime' was until the term started spreading around 1997, but have been watching it since way before then.

i had watch that one episode of Weird True and Freaky about 'humanimals' and first heard about furries. i looked into it more and it fit me perfectly: always drawing animals and furries, my old cat holloween costume that i wore 'till i was too big for it, my massive hoard of Beanie Babies and other stuffed animals, so on. as to my earlier post, i always liked cats until i learned of red pandas and they clicked. :T
