Another normal day on the island, and Hot Chocolate was strolling for booty the perfect floral arrangement for herself. It was such a feminine thing, one that seriously distressed the Palui who gave no nevermind to sillly things like gender roles. She just fancied posies and bright colors. The more vibrant they were, the brighter her smile was. She was of the ice variety, and by default the other non-ice Palui viewed her as cool and aloof.

Yes, she preferred the Snow Queen look herself but her innate nature made it difficult for flowers to survive long when placed on her body. Still, it did not deter her from decorating herself with flower leis. They would last at most a few hours before wilting from her arctic body temperature.

In a handwoveen basket of leaves she collected various flowers. Spying some buttercup yellow flowers on a nearby bush, she ventured yonder north.

The unthinkable happened!
Another Palui had crossed into her vision of fire. A decadently flowery and flamboyant one, to boot! Flowers decorated his form and he was adorned with real life ones! They were clearly opposites; while she was more of earthly hues this one radiated with bioluminescence, nay fluorescence! She was babbling, unheard of for any ice Palui, and the abuse of exclamations was a pitiful thing.

Feigning indifference she threw her head back regally and gracefully stalked forward to have a chat regarding HER buttercup yellow flowers. As she got closer her horror increased exponentially. This Palui had designs on her destined flowers. She thought of ways to interrupt creatively that also conveyed that these flowers belonged to HER.

In a crisp voice she interrupted "It pleases me that you like these flowers, too. They're my favorite"

She cringed. She did not mean to come across as some half-wit. Her ego wouldn't allow it. She noticed a bit too late that she was too close to the fire Palui when she saw the puddle forming on the ground between them.

The puddle was a surprise, but what happened next froze her. She was hugged. This walking rainbow hugged her, proclaime d love for her but most importantly was the revelation that they could water things together. A nanosecond passed before she returned the favor.
Hugging was wonderful! It produced water necessary to lengthen the longevity of the flowers.

And he said she was beautiful. Ice Palui did not blush, no. They accepted things calmly if not stoicly. To hell with that, she grinned.

"FLOWERS. I mean. I like your flowers, too. And these. And the water XD. I'm Hot Chocolate, what is your name?"

Hot Chocolate was overjoyed. FLowers had one of those EASY names.

"It's appropriate that your name is flowers. I'm so glad you're not a Bob, Richard or Henrietta. I was going to give you a floral nickname anyway. But this is even better" she was blushing all over. She seriously hoped her icy cheeks would hide her pale pink ways. She was fawning over the floral cupid of her blossoming heart.

His cute slurping was amusing. A real kindred spirit this one. He was like a rare tigerlily-- she interrupted her thought with an idea. Walking up in front of Flowers, she licked his cheek slightly before suggesting:

"Do you like adventures? Scary ones?"

"Splendid. There's this red tigerlily that grows on the craggy sides of Mount Mannu. Right in the inside of the neck of the volcano. It's tricky to get sure footing but with our Icy and Hot attunements, we can probably think quick on our feet and grab a bulb. Then we can go back and try growing it?"

She looked up hopefully.

"What say you? If you're game, you can follow me" And with that Hot Chocolate took her glacial ways toward the infamous mountain.

Hot Chocolate was estatic.
They were approaching Mount Mannu, and her new friend and her were right on the lip of the volcano. About 50 feet down, inside the neck of the volcano, the tiger lilies started growing in patches on different ledges. She gulped and hoped Flower didn't see it. She didn't want to be a sissy.

NO FEAR she yelled to herself.

"So, how should we go down? Both at the same time or one after the other? We have to get a bulb or two so we can bring them back and grow them"

She hesitated but knew Flower wouldn't think her odd, "Aren't they the prettiest tigerlilies you've ever seen?"

Hot Chocolate made some contingency plans. Yes, her ice attunement put her at a disadvantage and Flower was of fire and that meant he was able to stand higher temperatures but still. Hot Chocolate did not want Flower to get hurt and do all the work.

She sighed. Conceding she said, "Okay, I'll wait up here. But be careful. I'll keep watch up here and help you find places of sure footing."

Ever the vigilant one, Hot Chocolate climbed five feet down and peered over the ledge keeping an eye out for darling Flower. She felt the adrenaline rush. Not only were they going to get the most gorgeous tigerlilies ever, but Flower agreed with her assessment of said flowers biggrin

In an uncharacteristic ice palui move, she was flabbergasted and started to ramble mentally. What precision and dexterity the other palui displayed! She was ashamed she wasn't apart of the dangerous mission to capture the lovely tiger lilies.

In a quick move, she icily glared at Flowers before frostily running away. She was embarrassed at how useless she was. Precious Flowers had to risk his life while she just stood there.
