-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A victim of infanticide brought on by a terrible starvation and desperate action in the year 2006, the babe that would later be named Wynn Darbinian was found on the outskirts of the village moments before the brutal cold would've taken his life. He was found by the general store owner, in a village that was mostly an Inuit tribe. Although the couple nursed the foundling back to health, provided for him, and taught him all that he needed to know for survival in the precarious land of Alaska, Wynn was never adopted. It may have been because of the disease on his hands and feet, exfoliative keratolysis, that no one ever offered to claim him as their own. The Inuits believed diseases to be a mark of the spirits, come from some spiritual origin. Some even speculated that he was to become the shaman of the Inuit tribe that used to roam the land. Now, with the tribe having settled down and learning southern ways and traditions, he was a shaman without his people. Instead, he became the child of the village, looked out for and taught by all the adults and elders. It was only thanks to them that Wynn procured a small hut of his own to return to at night and keep his meager belongings. It was only later on in life, about the time that he turned seven, that he discovered the fate of his parents, who abandoned him to the cold judgment of the tundra. Destroyed by the very reason they abandoned their child, they were found, frozen in their collapsed home after a terrible ice storm. Of course, when Wynn found out about his parent's fate, he left the village for a few hours to quietly mule and wonder about his mum and dad in the place of his abandonment, a child struck by information too hard to swallow. Snuggled in the bay of the northwestern territories of Yukon, Wynn lived in the coastal village , a place small enough to know everyone by their name, but large enough to stay out of each other's business. This village was where many Inuit families had reluctantly settled down in favor of economic steadiness and southern education. Near to the village was a small landing strip for airplanes, built as a place to dock, rest, and refuel, where they would receive supplies. There were hardly any trees around the village, but on trips south or on trips towards the heart of Alaska, a young Wynn was exposed to the majesty of trees. Oh a daily basis, however, Wynn dealt with the frozen tundra, blankets of ice and snow, and the deadly ocean where the village fished and hunted for their livelihood. The homes they lived in were shoddy, but stable enough to provide shelter from the cold and storms. They didn't have a school building, nor a hospital, just homes where different wares were sold at. That was Wynn's life in his village.
Up until he was taken to the School of Shinkami, Wynn learned all things about the tundra, how to hunt, survive in the cold, read the land, and use kayaks to traverse the frozen waters just off the coast of his west-bound village.
He even had his own pair of ice goggles, which he keeps tucked near his person at all times. He became so sensitive to the land and ice, able to feel where an unsafe area was and the state of the land, that people whispered about his special connection with the spirits. In fact, Wynn, ever since he was little, believed that he was going to become the village "angakkuq" when he grew older, just like what he overheard from the people of the village. He wanted to be a healer and therapist, a shaman who communed with the spirits. He believed, with all his heart, that it would be his duty to see, interpret, and exhort the physical and the unseen, and for a while, it seemed that it was going to come true.
...Until representatives of Shinkami arrived on his doorstep.

Particularly studied is the Middle Ages, when all races but the humans fell into darkness. It is necessary to understand as much about the potential allies as possible. Study of the Human Body An anatomy course that features comprehensive guides to the human organs, systems, and body structure for the students. Wynn's Snow Goggles Carved and made by himself from the antlers of his first caribou kill, Wynn made these as a part of his survival lessons from Mr. Bentley. The straps are made from caribou sinew. He wore these often to protect himself from snow blindness.A hairwarp of various beads from Micajah.
