I'm quite interested in Jungian personality types. Please go to http://www.mypersonality.info, and take the variety of tests there, and report back to me to share your results.

You even get a nifty little badge displaying your personality type like the one below. The descriptions provided with them are usually exceedingly accurate.

"INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to most anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves."
- INTP Profile (TypeLogic)

"The INTP is above all a thinker and his inner (private) world is a place governed by a strong sense of logical structure. Every experience is to be rigorously analysed, the task of the INTP's mind is to fit each encountered idea or experience into a larger structure defined by logic."
- An INTP Profile (intp.org)

"INTPs live in the world of theoretical possibilities. They see everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into. They live primarily inside their own minds, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations. They seek clarity in everything, and are therefore driven to build knowledge. They are the "absent-minded professors", who highly value intelligence and the ability to apply logic to theories to find solutions."
- Portrait of an INTP (The Personality Page)

I have to agree Sir Lyonhart. Jungian types are extremely very interesting. But I have to say things about Enneagram types as well. I personally found those quite accurate.

Sadly, the first description I found made me sound like a complete and utter whiny little emo kid with no self esteem whatsoever, later I found a few, much nicer, examples of my type.

"INFPs never seem to lose their sense of wonder. One might say they see life through rose-colored glasses. It's as though they live at the edge of a looking-glassworld where mundane objects come to life, where flora and fauna take on near-human qualities."
- INFP Profile (TypeLogic)

"To understand Healers, we must understand their idealism as almost boundless and selfless, inspiring them to make extraordinary sacrifices for someone or something they believe in. The Healer is the Prince or Princess of fairytale, the King's Champion or Defender of the Faith..."
- The Portrait of a Healer Idealist (Keirsey)

"INFPs are highly intuitive about people. They rely heavily on their intuitions to guide them, and use their discoveries to constantly search for value in life. They are on a continuous mission to find the truth and meaning underlying things. Every encounter and every piece of knowledge gained gets sifted through the INFP's value system, and is evaluated to see if it has any potential to help the INFP define or refine their own path in life."

Hm. I have never heard about Enneagram types before. I found a test, and my types were 4,7, and 5. It seemed pretty darn accurate.

My type was 4 with a wing of 5. Meaning I take characteristics from both but mostly 4. When I mixed and matched them both they had me to a tee pretty much. As well as an online test can do.

I retook the test a few times, and the most common result was 5 main, with a wing of 7. That seemed more accurate. I don't know how I got 4 last time.

I did a bit of research into the E test, and found out that it's largely based on eclectic foundations rather than scientific ones. So I think I prefer to use the Meyer-Briggs personality test for Jungian types.

I had to take several of these last year for my Psychology class. I seem to fluctuate between an INTP and an INFP.

Hm. More often than not, I get INTP, but every once in a while I get INFP as well.

I wonder if there is a fundamental similarity between the two.

Oh you. xD

I mean, why do INFPs and INTPs seem to be so versatile and commonly can change between the two. It's feeling vs. thinking, so common sense tells me that simply because you may value thinking over feelings most of the time, you are still human, and not a robot and still somewhat susceptible to feeling based actions.

I'm ISTJ. Seems I am the opposite of the norm here.

About the ISTJ

"ISTJs are often called inspectors. They have a keen sense of right and wrong, especially in their area of interest and/or responsibility. They are noted for devotion to duty. Punctuality is a watchword of the ISTJ. The secretary, clerk, or business(wo)man by whom others set their clocks is likely to be an ISTJ." - ISTJ Profile (TypeLogic)

"ISTJs are very loyal, faithful, and dependable. They place great importance on honesty and integrity. They are "good citizens" who can be depended on to do the right thing for their families and communities. While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun - especially at family or work-related gatherings." - Portrait of an ISTJ (The Personality Page)

"...characterized by decisiveness in practical affairs, are the guardians of institutions, and if only one adjective could be selected, "super dependable" would best describe them." - The Portrait of the Inspector Guardian (Keirsey)

"...private, does not appreciate strangeness, not adventurous, not spontaneous, follows the rules..." - Jung Type Descriptions (ISTJ) (similarminds.com)

I remember doing this ages ago, before it seemed to get a sudden burst in popularity...

"ENTPs are idea people. Their perceptive abilities cause them to see possibilities everywhere. They get excited and enthusiastic about their ideas, and are able to spread their enthusiasm to others. In this way, they get the support that they need to fulfill their visions"
- Portrait of an ENTP (The Personality Page)

"It is so natural for these individuals to practice devising gadgets and mechanisms, that they start doing it even as young children. And they get such a kick out of it that they really never stop exercising their inventive bent"
- The Portrait of the Inventor Rational (Keirsey)

"ENTPs are usually verbally as well as cerebrally quick, and generally love to argue--both for its own sake, and to show off their often-impressive skills... argument as a sport."
- ENTP Profile (TypeLogic)
"ENTPs contribute an innovative, versatile, and enterprising approach to work. They view limitations as challenges to be overcome and look for new ways to do things. They need to find a niche for themselves in order to be free to maneuver. They prefer the start-up phase of a project rather than the followthrough or maintenance phase. Once the project is designed, they prefer to turn it over to someone else."
- ENTP - The Innovator (Lifexplore)

I've taken this a few times now, at different points, and always end up with the same thing... the percentages may change, but the results never do, so I guess this is right. XD

(Even though I wanna be an ENTP now... *laughs* Tesla and Mercutio? Lucky! razz )

Yar. Seriously. The Cap'n's type sounds cool. The fundamental difference between mine and his is he's extroverted. But I'm too like... hermitish and reclusive to ever be extroverted. .__.
