and Beyond.... not a class- a guideThese are notes I've compiled over the years... well actually I've just started to compile them, but I've been recording notes for a few years, so I've decided to put them together in something readable... I'm still putting my notes together, so until I am done adding information, some of the information may be incomplete (obviously). *note: I will be posting new information once per week, except during winter break. then it'll be more frequent. excepting this week. that will be when my migrane goes away. Intro:
Chakras contribute and combine to form your aura.
There are seven major and several minor chakras.
'Chakra' is a Sanskrit word, meaning wheel.
This is because your chakras spin.
Just about every culture has some form of recognition of our auras and chakras.
The energy combined from chakras have been/are known by various terms, such as:
'Ka'- Ancient Egypt
'Doppelganger'-medieval Europe
'Perispirit'- French spiritualism
'Astral/Etheric'- Western occult traditions
'Linga Sharirah'- Eastern
The seven chakras start, in order, from the base of the spine to the top of the head.
There are also several other minor chakras, on your palms, in the arch of your foot, behind your knees, in your elbows, on your chest, your shoulders, your face, your genitals... the list is nearly endless.
The chakras on your palms is where the healing energy for reiki comes from.
Chakras spin clockwise when open, and counter-clockwise when closed or blocked.
Also.
As you are reading the different paragraphs, in descending order, you will notice they form a rainbow in their corresponding colors. This will be discussed, after all of the main chakras are listed. I am not going into detail of minor chakras so forget it.

FIRST CHAKRA
BASE/ROOT CHAKRA
MULADHARA Located at: Base of spine. Correspondences: arrow The color, Red. arrow The geometric shape, Square. arrow The metal, Lead. arrow The sense of smell. arrow The sound vibration, La. arrow The element, Earth. arrow Thought to be ruled by saturn. arrow Gems: Ruby, Garnet, Bloodstone, Red Jasper, Smokey quartz, Black Tourmaline. arrow Foods: Protiens and red fruits/vegies. arrow Body Organ/System: Ovaries/Testes Positive Qualities: Security, Grounding, Stability, Health, Courage. Negative Qualities: Self-centeredness, Insecurity, Anger, Violence. Its level of functioning- determines a person's physical energy and their will to live; influences sexual activity and creativity; affects the legs, hip joints, base of spine, and pelvic area. Emotionally, influences feelings of belonging and being grounded. This chakra being blocked leads to (physically) aches/pains in the legs/hips/lower back, (emotionally) depression.

SECOND CHAKRA
NAVEL CHAKRA
SVADHISTANA Located at: Pelvic region, below navel Correspondences: arrow The color, Orange arrow The shape of a pyramid with its capstone removed. arrow The metal, Tin. arrow The sense of Taste. arrow The sound vibration, Ba. arrow The element, Water. arrow Thought to be ruled by Jupiter. arrow Gems: Carnelian, Coral, Peach Adventurine, Gold Topaz, Gold Calcite, Amber, Citrine. arrow Foods: Yellow fruits and vegies arrow Body Organ/System: Adrenal Glands Positive Qualities: "Gut instincts", emotions, exercise, movement, sexuality. Negative Qualities: Overindulgence, envy, bladder or uterine disorders, sexual difficulties. Its level of functioning- influences metabolism, digestion, detoxification, immunity to disease, and the balance of liquids and sugars in the body. This chakra being blocked leads to poor digestion, low metabolism, weight gain, etc.

THIRD CHAKRA
SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA
MANIPURA
Located at: slightly above the navel Correspondences: arrow The color, yellow. arrow The shape of a circle. arrow The metal, iron. arrow The sense of sight. arrow The sound vibration, RA. arrow The element, fire. arrow Thought to be ruled by Mars. arrow Gems: Amber, Citrine, Gold, Gold Calcite, Gold Topaz, Tiger's Eye. arrow Foods: Yellow fruits/vegies arrow Body Organ/System: Adrenal Glands, Pancreas, Liver Positive Qualities: Rationality, Will power, Intellect Negative Qualities: Abuse of power, Anger, Fear, Hate, Stress Disorders, Digestive problems Its level of functioning- determines a persons will to act, willpower, vision, muscle energy, heartbeat, digestion, circulation, and mood. This chakra being blocked interferes with the second chakra, along with a persons intellect, willpower, rationality, and emotions.
