I heard something today that got me thinking and I wanted to ask you guys and get your opinion. Some say that in the next 5 or 10 years that the government will make each person in the US get a barcode or let's say chip (for the sake of it ok) in their body - kinda like what you do to your car so you can track it when it is stolen.
Well anyway, my question is, do you think that this will happen and is it a "evil or demonic" thing as some of the religions are saying it is. Some say that when the humans are "coded" that it is the sign of the fall of earth and that everything goes to hell (so to speak) after that.
I have not really heard about this in years but here lately I hear whispers about it from time to time.
What have you heard and what do you believe ??????

I've never heard of that, but it sounds ridiculous! Big Brother is frikin' Watching!
I wont have it in my body. No, I don't think it's "evil" or "demonic" but it's definitely an invasion of privacy. I can see that it might have certain advantages, but I don't think it's right.

People freaked out, wanted to impeach Bush, and were practically ready to riot in protest to the NSA wire taps - I don't see some form of global tracking device installed in all people of a given society ever working out. The most I can see happening is installing such devices in convicted felons.

I've heard that it will only be used for people with serious medical issues. That way, if they're having serious problems, they can scan the person and see their medical history and prescriptions. People just going in for an appointment and normal folk off the street won;t get one.

I watched something on the science channel one time where they were doing tests with chips like that and all. Its microscopic and goes in your finger. The person could use it to unlock their house by having their hand near the door, or use it like a credit card and all. I can see how it could start out as something handy that no one thinks of at first and all, but as with all things, given the time the government will find a way to control it and put in their own ways of using it to track what you do and all.
My dad was mad when I was born and immediately they wanted to assign me a Social Security code. Thats how most people are identified most of the time, your name doesn't matter if you have a number.
I fear people like my criminal justice teacher who belives that unless you are a criminal or doing bad things, why should you have to fear the government watching you, and that taking away a few rights from citizens helps in the long run to catch the terrorist and criminals everyday.
As long as you keep those kinds of things well monitored and dont let bar codes or chips be the only way or run our lives we are good.

Did you all know there is something already developed?
It's called a VeriChip. It is implanted into you at birth so the government or whomever can track your whereabouts. I seen it on a special on the Today Show. A family volunteered their newborn child to be apart of this experiment. As any piece of technology, we all know the pros and cons. The problem is the government already has seen the many cons through this experiment and trashed it. They know how the public would react. Big Brother, however, watches us in different ways. -_^
I used to be a big believer in the government always being against us and all that jazz. Then I realized: Hey...if the government honestly cares about what I'm doing...Better yet why the hell do they care? All I'm doing is USING THE BATHROOM! Big Brother is just a Big Pervert!

Big Brother scares me in so many ways.
I've read things where this has come up.
There are some people out there who think
the hospital puts brainwashing chips into you
when you donate blood, but this was disproved
by Mythbusters. I often wonder why they humor
those paranoid people.
I can see it happening and having advantages,
but there are also as many disadvantages.
I can see people murdering others and cutting
off and saving the person's finger just so they
could steal their identity. xDDDD Rofl.

My oh my; people becoming bar codes! D: This reminds me of Ghost of the Shell where people read bar codes instead of letters. If we have bar codes inside ourselves then I shouldn't doubt we will soon learn how to read them.
But away from the show. Even though normal people supposedly shouldn't be worried if they don't have something to hide. But think of it! Someone may be monitoring who goes where and when like some game. Then they 'accidentally' check his/her spouse to see if he/she is cheating or not. And let's say that person is, and we just got ourselves another reality tv show right there!
Even if it isn't monitored by people, too many things could happen that could go wrong.

Actually with nano-technology they are working on a chip that can be inserted into the base of the neck. What would happen, and this is still being tested mind you, is able to be read and scanned, containing all of your medical information, just for scanning purposes. That way when someone needed your ID they scan and your done. It would eliminate a lot of paperwork and money loss...and also the technology can not let the government watch you.

Ah, but it always starts out as such, doesn't it, something supposed to only be useful?
We can't deny that human curiosity and power lust will eventually compel a future leader to take advantage of such a controlling source.
But I have heard of clubs that have begun to use microchips, implanted in one's arm, as a sort of club pass. They scan you're arm and see if you're a member. If you are they let you in. It also works as a credit card, providing a tally of all the drinks that person orders since they scan his arm everytime they give him a drink.
*shrugs* Idk what will happen, honestly.

It is always that way, and I would love to believe it would just be a helpful tool. As it has been said. But, humans are not always as pure as we would love to believe and we get past those stages.. or just become used to it and dont see it as bad anymore. We didnt mind the government watching us and getting into our business when they said they were looking for terrorists, so why not let them watch you and always keep you safe? Lol.
Heck, we never intended the A-Bomb to be what it is. It was intended to help with energy. smile

  It could happen. I doubt it will, though. People would throw a fit if they didn't have a choice in the matter. That kind of thing can destroy a government with mass rebelion.

Well it is in the grand scheme of things for barcodes or implanted chipped barcodes to happen. Dont get me wrong Im not a religous addict or anything but I have heard it in christian circles that we are now living in end times and that the 'barcode' is to be the true mark of the beast (the devil). I personal see some truth to this,....its definately a Big brother thing for sure.... but do we know who Big brother really is, and who will be the ultimate Big brother?!?!?! Once you are chipped they say they will phase out money so you only have to get your chip scanned to buy something...... isnt that a freaky control trip?!?! that scares me, the thought that someone out there, could list every financial movement, transaction I made.... now wouldnt that paint a fairly accurate picture of your life or what? This is also linked to the apocolypse theory surrounding the mark of the beast.

Just thinking back I listen to my parents when they talk about how having Social Security #s were never required for the most part, and then at some mid-age it was made required.. and then they demanded I have one labeled to me at birth, they put it off for a few years, but of course now we have to have it. When filling out paperwork, I get all the time with ones that dont ask my name at all, just my SS #. Sure, at first it was taboo and debated, but now most people just accept it and don't question it. If the government tells people it will make life easier, and them safer, it will start a slow movement forward.
