Well since no one was getting anything going in the extended discussions I thought I might start it up to get everyone's opinion on this subject.
Prostitution - should it be legal ?? I mean it is a womans right to have sex with whom she wants right ?? So why is selling it illegal. If porn stars can have sex in front of a camera for money then why is pornography not illegal as well.
**Note to everyone - I am not saying I think it should - I am asking your thoughts on the subject - I personally see no difference in a whore selling it on the street than I do with a whore who makes Pornography ... they both are paid to have sex **

For that matter. Strip clubs should be illegal too! Good points Angel. Either make it all legal or make it all illegal, but only going half way makes me feel like we're saying it's okay to do it in the industry, but if you are a free agent that's a no-no. Like people selling food on a corner without a permit...NOT GOOD!
Personally I think it's all disgusting, but that's just how I was raised I suppose. STD's don't really turn me on XD

burning_eyes My thought on this is it should be allowed, even though I hate the stuff. It causes a lot of problems and then there STDs seriously I don't think its worth it when they could do better with their lives, as for porn. I don't see why people bother buying the junk. It should be illegal, since kids always end up getting their hands on them.

Well thank goodness I am not the only one and I think it is a double sided law - it is legal if you do it in front of a camera but not if you just do it in the alley or car - what a joke - all that makes me sick but that is just me - thanks guys now I know I am not the only one.

It's all messed up. i agree with all or none but being able to rent a prostitute? it's kinda like opening your own organ store. It's a whole legal mess that would explode. so i say illegal.

I believe this is the same as why marajuwana isn't legal either, government cant tax it, well and there is the whole problem of Church finding it immoral to be a Prostitute. But like you said, if you can do porn and have that legal its a bit redundant.
I believe it could be legal and be fine, but there would have to be alot of regulations on it so you dont just suddenly have everyone going out all over the place suddenly becoming Prostitutes. Be really bad for young people, have trouble keeping us from eachothers pants as it is, let alone if you could just go out to the corner and pick up someone.
It's just to much work to go through lol.

Good point Angel never really thought of it actually makes me wonder what your mind has been thinking about here lately - you miss me ahhhhhh. I don't see why one is and one is not hell if they both are screwing they should both either be legal or illegal. I guess since the government can't tax the hookers then that makes it illegal cause they cant get their fingers on the money - sick if you ask me when they are the same.

Well can you imagine if they made porn illegal to everyone and not just people under 18? Lol. Have some pretty angry people out there, and make the black market pretty happy I guess. It just has to many flaws its hard to rock the boat one way or the other.

I was just thinking...it doesn't really matter if we make them both legal or illegal...it will still happen. It's all such an intricate part of our society now that it can't just go away over night. It's like when they tried to ban alcohol...all that did was cause a lot of speak-easies to spring up.

Exactly, even if it is wrong and all.. 1. The government couldnt regulate it, and 2. There would be to many unhappy people and just go around the law.

in allot of places prostitution is legal, just not when there "advertising" on the streets

The only answer as to why prostitution is illegal may be so younger woman [ okay, young teens ] don't get any ideas. However, I remember in a documentary in the History Channel that during the Civil War they made prostitution legal in a city.
This was due to high rise of diseases, so what they did was they made it only legal if the girls went and stayed at hospitals to make sure they were healthy. Then they made it illegal again; I think.

I say that prostitution should be legal if pornography is legal. the government just can't cut it half/half like that! It's contradictory. They're both basically sex for money.
