It was a somewhat gloomy day--the sky was overcast, and a faint drizzle of rain loomed. Additionally, the damp air did very little for Atreyu's usually-unkempt hair, which didn't help his mood. Getting to his feet, Atreyu gave his head a determined shake--it was time to get outdoors, he decided...in spite of the poor weather.

Pushing the smallish door that Vash had installed for just such a purpose, he wriggled, wincing as his hair caught in the hinge, holding him awkwardly in place for a moment before he tumbled forward, landing in an awkward heap. Extricating himself skillfully from the grasp of his own mane, Atreyu got to his feet, unmindful of the tangled skeins that even looped awkwardly around the solitary horn on his forehead.

Making his way toward the incense shop that seemed to serve as a gathering place for all creatures elderspark, he could feel his mood improving already, the day suddenly full of opportunities...even if it rained, things were looking infinitely better than sitting indoors staring out the window all day...

Having already been lured to the Elderspark shop by a similar mindset, Mansi was presently lounging ungracefully in the warmest corner of the building. Her own home was plenty warm, certainly, but with three eggs-- two of which she evidently helped create-- two lamps, two youngsters, and way, way too many adults possessing the mindset (and temperament) of newborns...

...well, simply assume that a rickety old shop is sometimes the place to be on a rainy day.

Mansi awoke an hour before dawn, fully intent on sneaking out long before the others could have a chance to assault her with those incessantly judgmental expressions. Or, even worse, before her beautiful mate could strike with two wide, trusting violet eyes. Mansi had packed nothing, eager to simply spend the first half of her day relaxing under the warm, radiant sun. Unfortunately, God had chosen this particular day to march in the emo parade, clearly going out of his way to torment Mansi specifically. (Or so she'd certainly allege.) As a result of the change in scenery, her relaxing day away from home had suddenly degenerated into an endless string of paranoia with a dappling of mini panic attacks. Every time that son of a b***h bell jingled, indicating a new visitor, Mansi would fight the urge to bolt behind the protective cover of the counter. The last thing she needed at this point was to be found and dragged her back home to her responsibilities.

Honestly, it wasn't as though she was doing anything wrong! What trouble could two inanimate eggs possibly cause?

As Mansi was quickly learning: an unexpected amount. Before the two tiny packages of evil had appeared, Mansi, queen of irresponsibility, blithe, and celebration, would have laughed her neon a** off at the thought of herself desiring "peace and quiet." And yet, here she was, seeking precisely that.

Happy Tofu

As he drew close to the Elderspark shop, someone decided that that was the time to rain--and not just sprinkle, but pour. Tripping over his hair at least a half dozen times in his haste, he finally butted the door to the shop open, staggering in, probably looking like an absolute mess. His hair cling to him in tangled, heavy skeins that weighed him down, with small globs of mud, not to mention leaf-litter, that were caught in the long locks.

It was rather dark inside, with the clouds covering up the natural light that usually helped illuminate the shop...but at least it was dry. Sitting back on his haunches, he eyed his disastrously messy hair with an expression that bordered on indignance--why, out of all of the other kyunru that he'd met, was it always his hair that seemed incapable of staying out of his way?!.

Completely caught up in his own irritation, Atreyu failed to notice Mansi, and began attempting to comb his unruly mane into some semblance of order, using his paws to pull the larger globs of mud out, making a face as the squishy brown substance moved in between his toes, the sensation not one he particularly enjoyed.

"Stupid rain..." he muttered, furrowing his brows.
