Within the home lenneth sat perched upon a window sill. Her long white dress flowed out over the wass, as she kept her knees close, and read. Aside from her dress, she wore a warm coat which she had aquired, once the weather had turned too cold to go without one. Though she would prefer to be outside, the window was close enough. The chilling rain outside was soothing, and from time to time as Lenneth read, she'd feel herself begin to doze. The place had been quiet most of the day, and although the dark, cloudy sky made it near impossible to tell the time, she figured it was a little past noon.
Lenneth had never known this place to be so quiet for so long, and began to wonder when it would end. That curiosity soon found her with her book closed, as she sat and waited for the silence to break.

Gavin hated the rain. It was like the sky was crying, and that made him unhappy because the sky was unhappy....and then everyone was miserable. They should all just cheer up. Then everyone would be happy and the rain would stop and...well, maybe it'd get warm again.
That was another thing. Gavin was convinced that the cold weather was somehow related to him. It must be that whatever he had done to upset the sky had upset the wind, too, because it was impossible for it to be as cold as it was for no reason. Gavin shivered; even in the measures he had taken to keep the cold out, it was still getting to him. And he had taken good measures. Dressed in a brown, ankle-length wool skirt, a cream-coloured high-neck sweater, and fur-trimmed boots, he certainly cut an odd (if extremely fashionable) figure as he slunk down the hallway, looking for something to do to keep his mind off the miserable weather.
He glanced into an open door as he passed it and was startled by the sudden flash of beauty that caught his attention. There was someone sitting in a window, framed perfectly in the pane and silhouetted by the greyish sunlight. Gavin blinked at it, and then slipped into the door, enticed by the perfection of the picture. The aesthetics were just stunning.
"Hello! You make a beautiful portait!" he said brightly.

Lenneth, who had gone back to looking out the window, looked over at Gavin and blinked at the sight. She was certainly sure it wasn't common for men, or something at least resembling, and soundign like one, to dress in skirts. "Thank you," She replied, voice guiet and gentle, like the coo of a dove.
Gavin didn't look too thrilled with the cold weather either. As if to ad insult, the rain began puring harder - pounding against the window angrily. Brow knit, she looked at the window, and the darkening clouds, something of worry passing through her -- she sure hoped no one was out in this weather.

Lenneth's apparent surprise over his outfit brought a flow of protests and justification to his lips: he just liked pretty things, and it was so much easier to find pretty things that the girls wore, and it wasn't his fault he couldn't dress nicely in the clothes they gave him and the other male Tabula. It wasn't fair. But then she didn't say anything beyond thanking him, and Gavin wasn't sure what to do for a moment. Floundering, he paused and looked at the window.
It started to rain harder, and Gavin's preoccupation with the figure Lenneth cut in the window suddenly died. He whimpered. "I just hate the rain," he sighed dramatically, putting his hands on his hips and pouting at the window. "Why can't it stooooooop?" he whined, then flopped heavily down on the floor and looked up at Lenneth. She had just been sitting in the window watching rain...and that didn't make sense. Why would anyone want to watch the sky crying?
"Why're you sitting in the cold all alone looking at the rain?"

"But if it doesn't rain, then everything will die." Lenneth said, brows softly knit. "It might not look pretty right now, but think -- the plants need the water, so they can bloom and be pretty. And I'm sure even in the cold, it can serve some equally benificial perpose. Maybe if it gets cold enough it will snow. Snow is pretty."
She smiled softly, before answering Gavin's question; "I was just admiring the rain. Thinking." Come to think of it, she really hadn't been doing much.
