How is it that we can ignore but never approach, reject but never embrace? Why is it that those that seem "different" from us appear invisible to us? I do not mean in the literal sense of course, but in our minds. If a person does not live up to our standards, then they dont have the right to be seen by our mind. I have had an awakening experience, i now see people that for so long i couldnt. I have spoken to them as well as listened to them and i realized something. we are not that much alike but we are also not so different. Although we may see the world through different eyes, it does not mean that the world is, in fact, different to both of us. I believe that when you let your mind see the world the way they see it, the way the once invisible see it, then and only then can you trully see your own interpretation of not just the world, but of yourself as well. You may think you know yourself, but when you try and see yourself through someone elses eyes you see someone that you hardly even recognize, someone that you dont like, someone that you feel sorry for, or perhaps even someone that you despise. I was able to see myself today and let me tell you something i did not like what i saw. I saw myself through anothers eyes and what i saw was someone that was completely pathetic, deceptive, destructive, and yet still optimistic. I saw myself but what i could not see was a soul. My eyes had glossed over with hate and depression. i asked myself how i could become so sad and so angry, but i already knew the answer...Life...life has a way of changing what you once were. So i ask you here and now, try to look at yourself through someone elses eyes, or even your own for those who dont even know who they are. Look at yourself through a mirror, look deep into your eyes, look at how gray and sad they are now. Only then you will see the true world around you.
