Remi was crimefighting.
Or at least, he was trying to. Tintin made it look really EASY, he just went out, got into Peril, and saved the day. After a full four hours on the hunt for bad guys, Remi was beginning to discover that bad guys, nogoodniks, and other evil villain archetypes were hard to come by in the real world. Nevertheless, he looked suspiciously into a dark alleyway. This seemed to be the kind of place evil people liked to hang out in. The coast clear for now, Remi scurried into the alley and hid.
He would wait. A lack of evil couldn't stop a heroic violinist!

Valiant ran into a seemingly empty ally, after about two blocks she doubted that a human would still be following her, but just in case she dug her teeth further into the fish she stole and darted into the darkness.
Now to enjoy my fish, she thought purring happily.
The cardboard box that she had been living in now for a few weeks was soggy with rain, and she could feel the dampness of another rain coming. Her home wouldn’t last long this way.
She ate quickly, then looked around, she would have to relocate very soon.

Remi saw movement. This was easier then he thought it would be! Leaping into action, he cried "Stop!" and pointed a finger dramatically.
A second later, his eyes had caught up to his mouth. It was another kitten, and she did not look very evil at all. He gave a cough and said in a manly, trying-to-regain-dignity-smoothly voice, "Stop because... Uh, because that fish you just ate may have traces of mercury!" Remi did not actually know what mercury was, but he fancied it might be a crayon colour. "You wouldn't want to be mercury coloured, would you?" he demanded. "Be more careful next time you eat a fish to check for crayons!"

She laughed at him with a soprano voice.
“But I’m already, well almost, mercury colored.” She finished her last bite and walked over to him.
“What are you doing on this side of town? Isn’t there somewhere warm and fluffy for you to curl up?”
He padded her feet against the ground. He seemed a bit big to be so carefree.

Remi couldn't really argue. He didn't know what mercury looked like.
Remi shook his head. "Well, I curl up wherever I have to." he said. He hadn't been collarless that long, but he was learning fast that a good night's sleep was a luxury when you might not have a dry place to sleep at night. "But I'm here because I'm hunting for Bad Guys." he explained. "I'm going to take them down in the name of truth." His plan was flawless. "But I can't find any evil." he admitted disappointedly. "It's a lot harder than you might think to find crime nowadays." He brightened up. "Have you seen any?" he asked hopefully.

“humm” she purred licking a paw.
“Can’t say I have, other then the usual humans that beat you with brooms and a dog.”
She circled him observing his reactions.
“Find a pet stuck up in a tree or something”
She mumbled before heading back down the ally, she needed to relocate before it rained again. The sky was a beautiful shade of blue-grey, but it deceived the world, for it was freezing.
She flicked her nub tail and looked around, looking back at Remi.
“what’s your name?”

Remi tugged on his coatsleeves. It was COLD. "My name's Remi." he said amiably. "Aren't you cold?" He tugged off his scarf and offered it to the other cat. "And I'm not good at climbing trees." He looked embarrassed. "I'm good at getting up them. Never really got the hang of getting down." His grandfather had had to call a whole fire department over once to get him down from a tree. It had been terrifying.
"What's your name, then?"

She laughed at this. A cat that couldn’t climb, for she had always been more wild at heart.
“My name is Valiant.” She accepted his coat gratefully.
“Then I’ll do the climbing, and you can do the catching.” The thought of him catching another cat made her giggle inside, poor thing didn’t seem too strong.

Remi smiled. "Nice to meet you, Valiant." he said cheerily.
He pondered this proposal. "I don't know..." he said. "I'd have to put down my violin and it doesn't involve beating up evil villains." He hefted his violin to his shoulder and played a few notes thoughtfully. "Hmmm..."
"Well," he said, "Do YOU need any assistance?"

Valiant thought to herself for awhile on this… did she?
“Well maybe you could help me find a new home…”
She pondered aimlessly . . . why hadn’t she noticed the violin, after all
Was it not her favorite?
She pawed at the cold cement and started forward.
“is there not anywhere worth living here?”

Remi looked thoughtful. "Well, I just sleep wherever I can find I dry, warm place." he admitted. "Of course, it has to have a safe place to put my violin, too..." He hated to admit it, but he hadn't found a place to stay yet. Not permanently. "Let's look around, I'm sure we can find some sort of place for you. What kind of place would you LIKE?"

“I have no idea.” She pawed at him.
“Then we can play, but you would have to set down your violin so it doesn’t get damaged….”
She stalked forward towards the plaza once more. Scaring a pigeon out of its mind.

Remi looked shocked. "Now, I can't let a lady go without a home!" he exclaimed. "We can play around later, but first we should find you a place to stay. After all, I think it's going to rain tonight." He stroked his chin thoughtfully. "We should try the park. That has a lot of soft, warm places to sleep." He liked the park. His grandfather used to take him there before he ran away. "Plus it's all natural, so it's probably good for you."

She giggled lightly, he was a cute one.
“The park sounds nice.” She danced forward a bit and turned to see if he was coming.
Despite the upcoming rain, she found the weather beautiful, chilly but only to an extent.
And she was in good company, which can alter the situation drastically.
“Well?” she purred starting forward once more.
“Am I ever going to know this mysterious stranger that showed up quite literally on my front porch?”

"Coming!" he said, following her. He blinked. "Well, there's not much to know." he told her honestly. "I play the violin and I like Tintin books and I ran away from my grandfather because he was going to give me away." He looked briefly pained at the memory. "I don't know why, but he was." He grinned. "And now I just sort of do what I can to have fun around here. Like crimefighting!" He looked at Valiant. "What about you?"
