'Zuba followed the small crowd of children, her eyes reflecting some of golden light given off by the setting sun as she glanced around the front of the zoo. Why Mother had signed her up for the zoo's overnight camp was beyond her. Her sister and guardian were supposed to be here as well, but Nataya had caught a cold, so Mother had to stay home with her and take care of her. The girl barely looked up as someone at the front of the group began speaking.
"Alright, everyone, we'll be spending some time here at the Shark-Touch Tank." the adult, whom 'Zuba had been told was in charge, said, smiling at the children....well, most of the children. The woman wasn't quite sure why she had to be in charge of some of the...less-than-normal children. But, as long as she was getting paid for it, she could tolerate them. "Please remember the rules....be gentle with the sharks. Only touch them with one finger; don't try to grab them. And keep your voices down; you don't want to startle them." She then stepped to the side, motioning the group of children through the large double door into the room that held the large tank of nurse sharks, which was their first stop of their educational trek through the zoo.

Slythor grinned. "OK!" He walked with the rest of the kids, despite hie weird appearance. He liked the crowd. He noticed a kid that looked off, like him. Seemed the person here had to care for two odd kids now. He grinned mischievously at the thought, before going to talk to the girl. He pat her shoulder lightly.
"Hello! I'm Slythor. I'm... odd, like you." He murmured. It was always a little awkward to talk about how odd they were. Father always told him it made him unique, and he was proud of that. He grinned. "You tell me if anyone's making fun of you, I'll beat 'em down, ok?" He replied. After all, he had to look out for the smaller,weaker ones.
He grabbed her hand and ran to the sharks. "Let's check them out!"

'Zuba jumped as she was tapped on the shoulder, whirling around to see who'd done it. She was slightly surprised to see someone like her here as well, but atleast she wasn't the only one different here. "Azubahiel...'Zuba." the girl said, smiling slightly at the boy as she introduced herself.
She giggled slightly, finding the thought of him beating down one of the 'normals' amusing. "'S okay. C'n handle it." she said softly, flexing her clawed hand slightly. Oh, the joys of having weapons conveniently attached to your hand.
She blinked as said hand was grabbed, stumbling a bit before running with Slythor to keep her balance. She blinked as they reached the tank, tilting her head to the side as she looked at what she assumed were the sharks. The girl looked back to Slythor, noticing something. "One wing too." she said, smiling slightly. "Your's prettier....it's red."

Slythor was reaching down to touch some sharks carefully. They were slimy and kinda gross. Apparent some of the sharks thought him slimy and equally gross, they swam away quickly from him. Others approached and gently nibbled on his hand. After all, what kind of hand was covered with scales and was clawed. He listened to Zuba's compliment with some pride.
"Thanks. If you think my wing is great, you should see my bird." He whistled softly. With a few surprised screams. a large blue bird flew through a window and landed obediently on the male's arm. The bird chirped softly, staring at the girl wit curious eyes.

'Zuba, ignoring the rules that had just been stated, reached in and gently pet one of the sharks with her normal hand like it was a cat or something. The shark moved in a circle, seemingly content with the odd-looking girl petting it.
She looked up, blinking as she saw the bird. She'd never seen one up-close like this before. "'Lo." she greeted, smiling at the feathered creature as she pulled her hand out of the water. She reached out with her dry hand, gently petting the bird once. "Nice bird." she said, lowering her hand as she made a small, happy "hn" in her throat. It felt like her ear, only it was feathery all over.

Slythor let the bird flutter over and land on the girl's shoulder while he went down and attempted to pick up some sharks. They didn't mind too much, just got closer in curiosity of what was oing on. He laughed as he pet them with his hands. They were slimy, but now that he thought of it, it was a pleasant slimy. He smiled and continued to pet the sharks.
The bird nibbled at Zuba's ear gently, curiously. It then fluttered and let out a few chirping noises. However it made a loud screech with another child was about to pet it roughly, scaring most children off to another side of the tank.

'Zuba blinked as the bird landed on her shoulder, smiling slightly as she pet it gently. She winced slightly as it screeched, swiping her claws at the offending child as her way of saying "Back off." She looked back to the bird, smiling. "They won't bother you." she said, smiling brightly as she petted the bird with one hand and a shark with the other.
The group director stood, watching all this. Not only we the freaks breaking the rules, but one of them had brought a foreign animal into the building. That was unacceptable. Squaring her shoulders, she made a bee-line for the two odd children.

Slythor noticed the person. He looked up and dropped the shark he had been holding, staring at her with curious eyes. She was another normal one, easy from appearance. She also looked angry. He was in trouble, and he knew why... at least, he had a pretty good guess.
"Yes?" He asked a little mockingly, his pride showing dangerously now. If she did anythig the least bit insulting he could not be liable for his actions.

'Zuba turned her head, making a small pout as she saw who was coming. She pulled her hand out of the water, shoving it into the pocket of her hoodie as she turned to face the adult. Instead of looking at her, she averted her eyes to the floor.
"Just what do you two think you are doing?" the woman said, her voice a low hiss as she put her hands on her hips, trying to look intimidating. "Just because you two aren't normal like the other kids does not mean you don't have to follow the rules like normal kids."

Slythor's eyes narrowed dangerously. "If you haven't noticed, ma'am, the sharks like us. I've got scaled hands. A n** won't hurt me. And." He pointed to the bird, which chirped cutely. "I was born with that bird at my side. I have permission from a high class laboratory to keep this creature with me at all times." He spoke, chin jutting out defiantly.
"I trust scientists of the care of myself and the bird than a person who haven't met me for more than 5 minutes." He spoke defiantly. He was very close to getting violent.

The woman narrowed her eyes in turn, crossing her arms. Who in the hell did this kid think he was? She refused to be talked down to by some circus freak of a kid! "Now listen here, you little," she started, but was interrupted.
"Don't even." 'Zuba said, repeating the phrase she often heard from her mother. She glared, her eyes flashing slightly in the light as she looked up at the woman, motioning to Slythor, the bird, and herself. "Not bad. Not hurting." she said, not seeing why the woman was making such a big deal about it.

Slythor nodded in agreement. "We harm no one." He added, growlng slightly. He was not pleased at this. The darker part of him wanted to fight and hurt this woman, teach her a lesson for even thinking about attacking. However his brighter side thought about thinking it over first.
He gently took his bird and held it to his chest. "My partner is as harmful as one of your sharks. No one gets too close to him without his permission." He spoke coldly, before placing his friend with hsi newer friend and going back to the sharks.

The director scowled, eyes narrowing at the two. "I'm keeping my eyes on the both of you...." she said, her voice low and almost threatening. She turned on heel, storming off to check on the other children.
'Zuba sighed; she didn't see why adults had to act like that. "Ignoring her." she muttered, gently petting the bird. She looked to Slythor. "Ignore her too?" she asked softly, tilting her head to the side as she leaned against the side of the tank.

Slythor growled, chin up as the girl stormed off. He glared at her direction defiantly for a good, long while. Quietly he decided he was not going to allow that woman to dare do a thing to him. He looked at the girl as she asked him to ignore. He smiled.
"Yeah, who needs her?" He giggled and went back to play with the sharks.

"Not us." 'Zuba said, smiling slightly as she reached down with her free hand to pet one of the sharks again. To be honest, it didn't seem like the group would be leaving this area soon, and she wanted to see more of the zoo! She eyed the door, thinking about it. Well, they wouldn't have to deal with the lady if they left her here, now would they?
"Want to go?" she asked quietly, pointing at the door. "See other animals." She smiled a small, mischievious smile, knowing that definately was against the rules.
