Grinch had disappeared! He wasn't fulfilling his duties to the Koopa Kingdom! how dare he do such a thing!?!

King Bowser was in an angry, grouchy, stalking mood as he came out of the rocky area that he had been calling his home. He was going to find him a green lion that had broken contract, and he was going to---- Practically run into a rabbit that was frantic about something else.

Bowser swiped a paw at the creature, hitting it to send it rolling backwards from where it had come. He let out a low, annoyed sound at it, for once not so hungry to pounce and eat then and there. Ilori, at least, was fulfilling his duties.

If Bowser was surprised by the unusual look of the cubs, it was only shown in a pause as he looked at them and a flash of something less arrogant in his eyes.

Then King Bowser flipped his head up, looking down upon the cubs with a look of pure superiority, "I am King Bowser of the Koopa Kingdom!"

He looked down at them, then looked around, "I am looking for loyal kooplings. Where is your mother?" It was something between a question and a demand.

Bowser looked down at the cubs and found himself making something that could pass as a smile, "Well, a koopling is a loyal follower of King Bowser, the best king of any kingdom! That makes them the best lions of anywhere, for they follow the best! A koopling takes care of the king, and the king takes care of the kooplings. And together we rule the kingdom, win the princess' affections and smash the competitors!"

He spoke with pure rapture as he described his nonexistent kingdom. "You may join me."

He hooked one of his paws, wrapping it around Roxy and pulled her toward him, giving her a noogie as he did so, then let go. He turned to Kalen, took in a deep breath, then blew a powerful puff of air at him.

Bowser tilted his head in interest at Kailen tumbling over, then he walked over, edged a paw underneath the cub, and pushed him up so the spikes came undone, "I hate it when I roll over," He told him, sympathetic to that problem. After all, having a big shell on his back caused some issues for him as well...

"You will be my loyal kooplings! And since you are my kooplings from youth, you will be special!" Bowser announced, puffing his chest out, "My very own pieces of perfection." He told them, blowing more gently on Kailen now to get rid of dirt caught up in his fur, "And we shall rule the kingdom with hard shells! --Er... and spikes...and claws."

Finally!! Little though they were, Bowser finally had good little kooplings, and he was as proud of them right now as if they were his own children. Yeah, Bowser was so keeping these two for himself.

"You should be proud to be a koopling, you come from a perfect, wonderful heritage. One day my kingdom will be back to its former glory, and you will live a fully perfectly privileged life!" Bowser let out a roar of triumph as he thought about the wonders of his kingdom, the perfection of it, the beauty of it...

"I will teach you to be the best lions on the planet and how to gain the loyal following of all those around you. And we'll have lots of fun doing it." He tilted his head at them, wondering exactly how to start that sort of thing.

Bowser was more and more pleased with these cubs. Yes, yes! They understood and saw his full glory! What marvelous creatures they were!

"We shall hunt," Bowser said with all purpose, as if he had come up with the idea himself. He cleared his throat. "Rule number one, is that we must learn to walk quietly."

Rule number one was precisely the rule that Bowser always messed up when he was hunting for himself. He was too impatient to do such a thing, but when he honestly, truly concentrated, he could manage something that resembled quiet. He crouched low to the ground, feeling it with his paws and trying to keep balance with that cursed shell on his back, then took a few careful steps forward. He looked at the cubs to see if they were following.

"Secondly," Bowser's low rumble sounded something akin to a snarl, though that wasn't what it intentionally sounded like, "you focus on your prey. What it, notice what it does, it's weak points, think about the best way to get it." Bowser lowered his head and looked around him, then seemed to focus onto something.
