Lucretia's doubts from the previous day had faded, leaving the girl in possibly an even happier state than usual. She still seemed vaguely distracted, but Kumoru had set her to a new task for the day, and she was determined to continue to be helpful.

In the necromancer's fervor to complete his magical weapon, the house had become a bit messy due to lack of attention. Thus, he had charged his daughter with fetching cleaning supplies from the store while he himself started the task of picking things up in preparation to really give the house a good washing. And so Lucretia meandered through the cleaning supplies aisle of the grocery store, shopping basket in hand, humming to herself while she surveyed the choices of hardwood floor cleaner.

Mmm, the eternal question - pine or lemon...?

Business was rather good, or at least it kept Agni busy for a while. After working his back off, he finally had sometime for himself and to stock up on the supplies he needs for the future.

It took him a while to navigate his way through the streets but finally he reached the grocery store where he usually get his supplies from. Slowly pushing a cart into the store, Agni started scouting up and down the aisle for things he could us for his business and hopefully his budget allowed some form of treat for him.

Finally, he reached the aisle where they kept the floor cleaners. When he glanced through, something caught his eye. It was a half bodied lady. This was quite shocking to Agni, even more than an army of dust bunnies. He carefully made his way closer. After gathering a little of courage, he opened his mouth.

"Hi, planning to clean your house too?

Living on your own meant cleaning on your own. Cleaning on your own meant you needed cleaning supplies, and those cleaning supplies needed to actually be purchased. Strange, how those things wouldn't just appear in her cupboard when she finally noticed the layer of dust settling on everything in her apartment.

And thus, Kinsey Finch set on her epic adventure to the grocery store. She hadn't been around much, and didn't really know her way around. Or what she was really looking for under the title of 'cleaning supplies', for that matter. Chewing her lip, the young woman looked around and caught sight of a pair of people.

"Uh, hey, do you guys know which of these....things," a hand wave at the various products, "is good for dusting?"

Lucretia turned as a stranger spoke to her, and looked him over with a deadpan expression on her face. Then a small smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.

"Yes, I'm helping Daddy and my brothers clean. Cleaning day at home. If I buy the floor cleaner and the tile cleaner, then I get to use the vacuum cleaner," she told him. Her younger brothers thoroughly enjoyed vacuuming as well, so Lucretia was pleased that she could not only help, but also ensure that she would get to do a bit of the work herself.

Another shopper joined them, and the Ice Rose turned to glance at her as well. "Dusting? I don't know.... We already have dusting things at home, so I don't need to shop for it." She paused a moment to grab a spray-bottle of tile cleaner off of the shelf and drop it into her basket, then added, "Feather dusters look nice, though."

"Ah, you're a nice ... girl. Helping around the house is good exercise too." Agni smiled, though his face seemed slightly confused whether calling the half-bodied person a girl would be appropriate. When he saw liked cleaning though, it made him smile since he hardly know anyone that enjoyed doing that.

"Well, nice to meet you. My name is Agni by the way. Just thought you would like to know who your talking to" he smiled once again.

When the other shopper came around, he turned and smile. After he had heard her question, he thought about it for awhile and his eyes scanned the shelves before slowly moved towards her and grabbed a box of wiper sheets. "I'd say these would be the best. It's specially woven so all the dust clings to it." he smiled and hold the box out for the other shopper. "And it's not bulky so you can reach around the corners. I think that's very useful."

Kinsey recognized the Frei's general body-type once she got close enough, but the youth didn't say anything about it. She'd only run in to one other Raevan since she'd received the strange suitcase in the mail, but from what she understand about the project, Lab 305 was actually a very big thing.

"Feather dusters, huh?" she asked, stepping closer when the other man offered her a box of sheets. "Oh, thanks!" the youth said, tucking the package into her basket. She reached for a bright pink feather duster and tucked that into her basket as well. She didn't want to hurt the other female's feelings; after all, they'd only just met. "So, how about window cleaner?"

"Oh! I almost forgot. I'm Kinsey. And yourselves?" the boyish youth asked, brushing her hair out of her face. If she was going to ask them how to buy cleaning supplies, she ought to be friendly with the pair, as well.

The girl glanced between the two others as they introduced themselves, and bowed to each in turn. "My name is Lucretia," the Ice Rose Raevan told them both. She seemed to meet people everywhere, and so she was thankful her father had taught her well how to be polite.

"I guess it's good exercise," she went on, then glanced down at where the rest of her body would be if it existed. Then, with a slight sheepish laugh, she added, "For my arms, anyway."

"I don't know about windows, though," Lucretia went on, turning to Kinsey. "Kumoru is already working on those, so he told me not to worry." She tapped her lips with the index finger of her free hand, frowning in thought for a moment. "To be honest, though, I'm not really sure what the difference is between any of these bottles."

After he heard both of them introduced themselves, Agni smiled and walked down the aisle towards the section where they kept the window cleaning detergents. He searched about for a while before grabbing a number of bottles and stood up.

"Hi Kinsey, I'm Agni. Well, I always use this one when cleaning houses, it doesn't leave behind stain mark and it does a good job of removing all the dust." He said and offered one of the bottle to Kinsey before putting the rest into his cart.

"Well, nice to meet you too Lucretia." Agni turned and nod to the half bodied lady. When he heard the lady's question, he smiled. "Well, both of those works relatively the same, it's just that one smell like pine, the other lemon. It depends on which one you rather have."

Agni looked about once again. There are people wanting to clean but had no idea what to get. This meant business for him so he reached into his pocket to get out his name card. "Well, if you guys get bored of cleaning, give me a call and I'll be on the job busting those grimes." he smiled and offered the card to the both of them.

"Lucretia. Agni. Pleasure." Kinsey nodded to the pair. But who was Kumoru? Well, she'd have to ask later. It wouldn't be polite to change the topic after she had asked them their opinions. (And as much as she didn't want to need it, she really needed to purge her apartment. There were piles of clothes sprouting everywhere, and if the flat-chested youth didn't know better, she would have sword they had started to migrate towards the sunny patches on her carpet.)

Kinsey chucked, shaking her head at Lucrertia's statement. "Me either!" she said, waving her free wildly. "I moved out of my mother's house over the summer and I don't...exactly...know what I'm doing," she finally said, turning a little pink. Huh. That sounded kind of stupid. "I guess I should have paid more attention on cleaning day," she murmured. Wouldn't do to go back and ask for help now.

Of course, Agni's offer sounded mighty tempting. Kinsey blinked and accepted the card, peering down at it before looking back up at the man. "If I didn't just lose my job, I'd totally take you up on this," she replied, dead pan. "But as the case may be. Are vacuum cleaners...expensive?"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 07, 2008 5:44 pm

Lucretia nodded slowly, and dropped the business card into her shopping basket when she received it. "Thank you, but I think we can clean the house okay. If it gets too bad, I'll tell Daddy to call you for help," the girl told him with a small bow.

"I know that there's different scents," she went on, "But I just don't understand why there seem to be so many different cleaners just for the floor." The girl hooked one arm through the handles of her plastic basket and took a can of hardwood floor polish in one hand and a can of linoleum floor wax in the other. "Walls and floors are different because one goes up and down and the other is flat to walk on, so I guess you need separate things for them, but why the selection for just the floor?" The girl could understand her father's spellbooks just by glancing at the writing, but this mystery of home upkeep clearly escaped her.

Then Lucretia glanced over at Kinsey, and grinned a little. "I don't know if they're expensive, but vacuum cleaners are fun...."

"That's alright." Agni said, his face smiling. At least he got himself some potential clients for the days to come. "Well, it really depends which kind of vacumm cleaner you are planning to get." he said, taking in a small breath before continue. "There's the handheld kind, smaller and cheaper but more tiring since you have to hold it in your hand. There's also the big kind but it's less tiring I guess."

When he heard Lucretia being so confused, he turned his attention back to the half bodied lady. "Well, that's the deal with this world. Competition among different companies so they come up with so many different variety to attract people." Agni sighed and looked around, grabbing supplies he needed and putting into his cart.

"Fun?" Well, vacuum cleaners couldn't be all bad if someone could classify them as 'fun'. Kinsey nodded and returned Lucretia's grin, about to ask her another vacuum question when Agni demonstrated his expertise again. "Oh, what? What do you mean, what kind?" The youth frowned. She hadn't even realized there were more than one kind of cleaner, she had just assumed there would be a few different brands and that would be the end of it.

Kinsey turned back to the Raevan, brushing her hair behind her ear again as she waited for Agni to finish speaking. "Hey, what kind of vacuum do you have?" she asked. If Lucretia thought it was fun, then she certainly must have a good type. "If I were you, I'd just pick the least expensive kind of floor cleaner," she added, an after thought. That's what my mom would always do when we used to go shopping."

All the stuff about competition and such sounded familiar, but it still really did not mean a whole lot to the girl yet. It worked for an explanation for now, though, and she left it at that.

A thought struck the Ice Rose Raevan then, and she carefully took a can of hardwood floor polish off of the shelf. "Does this work on other wood, too?" she asked. "Like, if I had a magic staff or something else made of wood, would it keep that shiny? Just supposing?" It was hard to tell if her innocent tone was on purpose or not.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 10, 2008 9:41 am

Agni gave a confused look when he heard Lucretia asked her question. He pondered for quite a while since it was not what he usually dealth. He cleaned all sort of wood, of any kind but not one made into a staff so he tried his best.

"Well, I assume it would be the same but I'm not so sure myself since I never tired polishing a staff or anything similar to it." he sighed and continued "Sorry I can't help much...Maybe you can try and let me know?"

Agni continued grabbing supplies and putting it into his cart and it wasn't very long till he was done. However, he did not want to leave since he was kind of having fun chatting with the two ladies.

"Magic staff, huh?" Kinsey tipped her head sideways. Now, that was much more interesting than daily chores. "Aren't there other wood cleaners, though? I think I remember my mother using this special dusting stuff for tables and desks and things. It smelled like oranges and it made them look very nice," the youth commented, wondering mildly if she should pick up some of that stuff herself.

The youth stifled a yawn and scratched her cheek, plucking a can of the familiar-looking spray from the wall of cleaning products. "This is the stuff, I think," she said, half-offering to Lucretia. She wasn't sure if the Raevan would like it. Kinsey paused and gave said Raevan a curious look. "Does your guardian teach you magic?" she asked, assuming Lucretia did, in fact, have a guardian. If there were auditions, or something similar, for people like herself, Kinsey could only imagine that the same process was used for this lady. "I mean, for the hypothetical magic stick you mentioned," she added, trying to clarify.

It was only after she'd spoken that Kinsey realized the other woman might not like talking about that sort of thing. It was a shame she didn't really think before she opened her mouth.
