i bought the anime and...
i couldn't stand listening the english dub on negi sprinfield for minute (w/c i switched it to japanese...
the voice actor needs to be fired if not be hanged... gonk gonk gonk

I heard the dub on the official site for the dubbed anime and I agree with you completely! FUNIMATION MESSED UP NEGI's VOICE! I'm too scared to listen to what the girls sound like..-shudder-

I just watched the first episode on the FUNIMATION website...
It's like a bad Harry Potter...
God, and Konoka's voice blows too!
I feel like I've heard Takamichi's voice in another anime before... maybe FMA?
And they've skipped ALL this story-line already. Sheesh.
I don't think I'll be buying it... just sticking to the Manga, per usual.

I always get the latest english translations of the manga as soon as I can... Although the comic store I go to is a little slow with the shipping... crying

Ehehe... I usually wait for the yearly anime convention where they have truckloads of manga in the dealers room to buy my Negima. I once bought 8 Negima volumes all at once. *Grins* I got a sweet deal on it too. If I were to buy them one at a time at my local manga shop, I'd probably have spent $30-40 more. x_x
Mmm... The next convention is in May... And I'm at volume 19... Hmm.... *Starts counting cash* pirate

Isn't hanging Greg Ayres a bit extreme, even by subtitle elitist standards?
I don't entirely disagree. Some of Negi's lines sounded either off (he messed up the accent a couple times) or just plain weird (often when saying 'Nodoka!'). But he did the spells pretty well. The re-write of 'Ras tel mas cir magister' was not his doing, he just delivered the line.
But if not Ayres, who should have done Negi's voice? And please, don't bother with "They shouldn't hav dubbed it, cuz dubs=epic fail and subs pwn lol".
