A lot of vegan fluffernutters (I'm looking at you, PeTA) seem to think that "contains no animal products" is synonymous with "cruelty-free." Harharhar... What they don't realize is that their beloved palm oil, a product that is used in place of tallows and other animal fats, is doing substantial harm to animals and the environment. There's a quick video on the problems palm oil causes here.

that is absolutely horrifying, and I sent emails to those companys thanks to the website. People need to remember that vegetairian is not synonomous with sustaianable, unless you really put some effort in.. as a veggie myself I really try to eat local and sustainable

That's terrible! I'm shocked that even Whole Foods is associated with this.

luulamax Omegash, Peta is the most ignorant evil little org. but besides the point... Mm. After looking over their general attitudes, I have determined that the logical conclusion to their philosophy is to set off enough nukes to "euthanize" all life on Earth. (They don't care whether new members of a species are born, only that existing ones are not suffering. And they will kill in the name of ending suffering, although whether this suffering exists is debatable.)

I wrote an entire blog on myspace about that!(nerdy) how they introduce children to PETA and brainwash them: http://www.consumerfreedom.com/feature_peta_kids_map.cfmThey're loony. really. Those animals were puppies in majority. One record held that thousands were euthanized. Many stolen from shelters where they defended saying they'd die in the shelters anyway. THEN. They freeze all the bodies.

Yes, people (impressionable kids, especially) need warned about these lunatics.
Near as I can tell, Ingrid Newkirk is an attention-whore headcase. I've learned the following from them...
-Destroying the environment is okay if it means you don't have to wear or use something actually made from animals. (Palm tree oil, crude oil.)
-It doesn't matter what dies for your supper, as long as you don't actually ingest it. (Pest control, depredation, accidental deaths during farming.)
-Allowing a wild animal to starve to death is better than ending its suffering quickly (overpopulated kangaroos), but euthanizing cats and dogs to end their suffering is a must.
-It's okay to lie or distort facts to further your mission. (Most of their campaigns.)
-Disney movies are documentaries. DOCUMENTARIES!!!

I know really...they are top on the list of cult followings that totally destroy the environment mad ooh..'finding nemo' teaches us that fishies need to be protected. SO...lets go to the nearest restaurant...storm in...STEAL all the fish and dump them in the closest body of water...honestly..these people.
