Appearance - Karma is a short fuzzy thing, covered all over in chocolate brown fur with a white underbelly. Her ears stand tall like a fox's with black tips, a black mask covers her eyes and her hands and feet are tipped in black fur. Her tail is full-bodied and bushy like a fox's, though is dark brown in color with black rings. Prolonged consumption of Pepsi has left her with a bit of a pudgy tummy which she conceals with baggy clothes. She is most usually seen wearing offbeat outfits that don't quite match or, more often, wearing her autumn leaf kimono when relaxing. Protruding from either side of her head are small feathered white wings. It is uncertain how or why she has them and no one's really thought to ask her
Personality - How one describes Karma depends entirely on how well one knows her. To strangers, she is withdrawn and sometimes overly-polite as she likes to avoid conflict whenever possible. Around her friends, however, she doesn't hold back nearly as much, if at all. She loves to laugh at damn near everything and sometimes her mouth gets her into trouble. She holds few grudges, as she thinks life is too short to invest in hatred, but those who've managed to invoke her ire quickly find that its not a passing thing and that, no, she does not forgive and forget easily. As a mother figure, she tries to be both nurturing and leniant, though once her BS allottment has been reached, she is both willing and able to be a disciplinarian. She also seems to enjoy antagonizing Talonfaust at every available opportunity since reasoning with him is about as rewarding as nailing Jell-O to a tree.

Kendall - Karma's biological son who, after an unfortunate incident involving a lot of alcohol and a David Bowie shirt, was fathered by her good friend Youkochylde. When not fighting with his twin sister Raven (currently living with Youko), Kendall is a bright and friendly sort with an affinity for video games.
Talonfaust - Not technically part of the family, he just lives there. No one knows quite what he is...he appears to be a dragon/elf with a little something else thrown in. For lack of anything better, he and Yeande refer to themselves as Ijiuo. Though bad tempered, he's known for softening his countenance in the presense of his wife and children.
??? - Karma is currently pregnant a second time via the Farland Clinic. As of now, the baby's gender and name are unknown.
Arkanti - Karma's adopted fa'e son. He's hyperactive, has a short attention span, and loves nothing more than to stir things up to entertain himself. His and Karma's mother/son bond becomes more and more frazzled the older he gets and the more she learns about him.
Zhane - Talon and Yeande's son. His arrival came as a surprise to everyone, but he was readily welcomed into the family. Zhane is very cheerful, curious, and wants to learn all that he can about all around him. As such, he's easily-occupied most of the time.
Phaerna - Talon and Yeande's adopted daughter. The result of post-partem depression striking early, Yeande took it upon herself to get in contact with an adoption agency and recieved guardianship of Phaerna. Her mother, a shy woods nymph, and her father, a rough drow mercenary, Phaerna is somewhat of a stormy countenance. Most of the time she is withdrawn and keeps to herself, seeming to be plagued by an almost-constant sadness and fear of being alone.

Leaf Saturday October 8th, 2005 - Today I have found a leaf that, in seeming defiance of the oncoming winter, remains green and lusterous among its red, yellow, and brown companions. I have brought it home with me.
Planted Leaf Monday October 10th, 2005 - After recieving an odd letter from a group referring to themselves as the Eden Project, I have decided to plant the leaf in the pot provided. They say a child will grow from it, though the skeptic in me is not too sure.
Toddler! Tuesday October 18th, 2005 - The potted leaf showed an unusual amount of activity tonight and, in a flurry of vibration and flapping of wings, Saturnidae was officially born. Welcome, little one!

These are some of the things that were close to Dae when he was still a leaf. He seems to be especially fond of the fireflies and jarred star.
Here are some of Dae's other belongings -- a journal for him to write in when he's older, an umbrella to ensure that he never gets wet when he goes outside, a scented candle that smells like chamomile, a plush unicorn the color of the moon, and a plushie that Karma found in one of the boxes in Kendall's closet. Hand-me-downs are the spice of life!
Karma has modified the attic into Dae's room. Not only does he like being in the highest point of the house, but its atmosphere is comfortably dark and spacious for him. He is still a bit young for the X-Box, but since Karma had nowhere else to put it and is fairly sure he may like it later, it remains there for now.

Scientific Name: Hyalophora cecropia
Also Called: Robin Moth
Family: Lepidoptera
With a wingspan of 5 to 6 inches, the cecropia moth is the largest North American moth. It is a member of the family Saturniidae. Cecropia moths are referred to as silkworm moths. Although these moths are common throughout North America, you don't often see them because they fly only at night.
Adult Cecropia Moths do not live long (only one-to-two weeks) because they emerge from their cocoons sans mouth parts. Their purpose is simply to mate and then to die. Using pheromones, a female attracts a male and the two of them spend the following day together before separating when evening falls once more.
A female cecropia can lay more than one hundred eggs. They are usually placed in small groups on the underside of leaves. Depending upon the weather, it takes seven to fourteen days for the eggs to hatch. The newly hatched caterpillars or larva are black and approximately the size of a mosquito.
At the end of their development, larvae are five inches long, green, and covered in colorful horned spikes. To withstand the temperatures of the winter, they spin a cocoon and, within, undergo their metamorphasis from larvae-to-moth. Come the next spring, the adult will emerge and begin the life cycle over once more.
