I'm more worried about the ballot initiatives. Thus far it looks as though Arizona and Florida have certainly banned gay marriage, and unless the next few precincts are overwhelmingly against prop 8, it's going to be banned in California as well. On the plus side, three states voted against effectively banning abortion, and Michigan and Washington made some decisions that make me happy.
And a bit worried about the Senate. The Democrats have a majority, yes, but not enough of one to prevent a filibuster when the Republicans feel like being annoying. They also don't have enough in either part of Congress to pass an amendment overturning all the state amendments banning gay marriage (can you tell that one really bothers me?).

Over here ALL the news programs are trying to make everyone think that the only reason Obama won because he's black. I've yet to hear his name and black in a seperate sentance. They're being very crafty about it though.
They were all so biased towards him to begin with, which makes me think that they just wanted him to win so they could run all sorts of stories about it. This morning there was something on Martin Luther King and the "I have a dream" speech.
Either that or it's typical England, "If it's a white person against a non-white person, ALWAYS pick the non-white person, otherwise you might seem racist."
I mean, you can practice every religion apart from Christianity. We're not allowed to do Nativity plays but goodness knows what would happen if we didn't let them do Eid plays.
What annoys me even more is it's not even muslims who are saying these things, in fact, they're pretty annoyed about it too. It's just other whites scared of offending them.
Maybe it's just this area though, seeing as it's mostly Asian people.

IT'S ******** BALLS. I can't believe preposition 8 is leading. What the hell, California, what the hell? Who let all the bigots in? This is such bullshit. There shouldn't even be a debate on gay marriage - unless straight people also cannot get married.

prop 8 got voted against because the Morman church and other churches put up more money..Than the other side. Not everyone in california vote for the prop. So of us belive in tolerance and love your neighbor.. I live in California.They used fear; fear that your children will be taught in schools about marriage.specifically gay marriage. Religon in the schools in california are presented with each religon and what they belive. No write or wrong answers. If gay marriage were taught in the schools in would have been generalized look theres different types of families grandma and grandpa raising children, single parents and children.. etc.. No write or wrong answers.
