She was getting good at escaping the watchful eyes of the herd, but then ever since Etsi had made that long trip, she wasn't as terrified of her little ones getting lost or attacked. But with this new found freedom, adventure was always around the next corner.
The question was what adventure was she to enjoy today? It was never a planned journey, most of the time it came and found her. So she pranced along the forest path with little care to the ruckus she was making.

The little colt had wandered further than he was accustomed. The pale one understood the dangers that lurked outside of Islagiatt, that he would have no protection from anyone if he dared cross the borders . . . but nature called. A bit of an explorer, a lot of a wannabe knight, the little blond haired colt understood that the world encompassed more than just his family territory; and no one in his family territory was ever in need! Not with his father on duty, and his mother near. . . . Crous took care of the bad guys and Amarinne could heal anything.
But though that was all well and good, the little colt wanted to know what lay outside the borders. Danger, certainly, but also good - there was always good, so he believed - and he was going to disocover it! Today was the day. His little tail swished happily back and forth behind him as he trotted through the woods and down the hillsides. It was going to be one heck of a trek back up but Galahad wasn't worried, it would be a battle he could happily conquer.
Step by step, the little colt bounded further away from the protection of his home, green eyes bright as he searched the world around him. Berries here, fallen autumn leaves there, and a strange sort of ruckus coming just over the hillside. . .
Wait, ears twitched and pricked forward as he paused in his own exploration. A ruckus? Such a thing didn't happen on its own and only happened when someone or something else was moving! Green eyes lit with curiosity as he jerked forward, changing his trot to a run as he came bounding over the small hill. Sure enough, through the trees and grasses, he spotted something red and small, similar to him! It was . . .it was another soquili!
Whinnying softly, Galahad suddenly realized he wasn't sure how to approach the stranger. He had his manners, certainly, but what if the other soquili didn't want to be bothered? Standing proud, the little one decided to wait; he'd made himself known, if the other wanted to further bridge the distance between him then it would be completely up to the little wind to do so.

And then she heard something she hadn't been expecting. The call of another Soquili that sounded suspiciously like her sister Tsis'Dihi--or that's just what she was worried she'd be discovered by one of her sisters. She looked back over her shoulder up the hill seeing a figure. But there wasn't a trace of red on him anywhere that she could see and he was almost a pure white except for his mane, tail, and the little horn peeking from his forelock.
So it seemed she had found her adventure at last! Or at least someone to share it with. She did a small little leap, turning her body about by means of her wings and bounded up towards him, giggling the whole way. "Ah thought ye was one of mah sisters. Ah'm Tsis'Newadi, but ye can just call me 'Adi," she babbled out when she got closer to him.
She flared out her little wings as she bounced happily. Oh boy, the adventure would be so much better with someone else to tag along. Of course, she didn't really know what she was looking for. "Ah was just on mah way te find t'e Voice of t'e Forest." So she'd come up with something along the way, even if it had some truth behind it. "Do ye want te look for the Voice of t'e Forest too?"

The little colt paused, his tail swishing anxiously as the little winged form came bounding up to him. Galahad was no strangers to winds considering his father and two of his sisters had inherited such a look; even his brother had wound up with a set of feathery pinions! Galahad himself had inherited his mothers look.
So it was with little surprise and a small, patient smile he watched the filly bound up to him. My but did she know how to talk! Before he had a chance to respond to her name already she was chattering on and on about some sort of of adventure. His ears stayed pricked as he attempted to make out er accent- now that was a bit different. "Voice of the Forest?" He questioned, brows lifting in curiosity. "What's that?" He asked bluntly, not entirely sure if she was being serious in her game or if it was truly a figment of an overactive imagination.
Frequently Galahad pretended to be a great warrior like his father, a protector of the woods, but with a healers touch. Unlike his brother who had inherited wings, the young unicorn would forever be landbound in his protections but he had decided he would be as swift on foot as possible. If his sisters and brother could fly, Galahad would make himself a star runner and healer. It was kind of a work in progress. . . .
"Let's go find this Voice of the Forest," he chirped with a nod of his head, blowing a few bangs out of his eyes. "I'm Galahad, by the way, tis nice to meet you 'Adi!" Adi was much simpler form of her name, the whole of which he'd rather forgotten.

She blinked slowly at him, "Ye've never 'eard of t'e Voice of t'e Forest? It's that sing-songy voice that doesn't 'ave a body. Ah've 'eard it. It sounds like a stallion, but Ah dun know," she finished with a shrug.
She smiled, throwing her head in the direction she'd been traveling. "Well then, com'on, Galahad, and Ah'll fill ye in on t'e whole story." She loved telling stories to others. Aside from her rambunctious rough housing, story telling was something she did well.
"It 'appened a few weeks ago. Etsi and Doda 'eard t'e voice first. It was singing a beautiful melody about t'e stars and t'e moon. At first, Doda wasn't 'appy because we 'ad someone in our territory and 'adn't known 'e was there. So a search was started te find t'e voice, but t'e birds came back without any clues. T'e next night, we 'eard a song about that made ye feel like there was danger oot in t'e woods. Mah sisters and Ah weren't allowed oot of Etsi's sight for a week because of that stoopid song while t'e grown-ups went on t'e search themselves. Again they turned up empty handed and t'e voice is still singing. Some nights, it's nice, but others it can be pretty scary. Mah parents 'ave finally given up t'e search and think it's just the forest singing, but Ah want te know where it's coming from."
