 Eden stalked her prey quietly, eying the teenaged deer with wanting eyes. Her body shifted slightly then froze as the creature caught sound of it. With that, knowing if she stood still to be seen, she'd lose supper. Bounding off with all the power she had, the deer faltered. It wasted that valuable first second by standing still. It was no time before her fangs wound around its throat and tumbled it to the ground. She waited..and waited..and waited as the kill slowed its struggling and finally, its life slipped away. Her fangs pulled out of the dead carcass and she smirked, pleased.

 'Nice moves, my dear. Even managed to keep yourself mostly clean.'
The voice seemed to emerge from the foliage overhead, as if the tree itself was speaking. The illusion was shattered, however, as the blue peacock Alpha stood and stretched on the branch where he'd been quietly lounging just moments before. With a shake and a chuckle, he spread his wings and bounded lightly from the tree, landing with a flutter. He folded his wings carefully against his back while already casting his eyes over the female. A little young, but....
He put on a charming smile.
...they grew up so fast these days, afterall.

Eden remained calm, eying the alpha curiously. Doing to make sure she didn't loose supper, she stepped over the carcass, and sat in the path between him and her food. "My my, I seem to have a lurker. How pleasing to know that I attract the attention of a male such as your self." she smiled slowly, a pearly fang peaking from under her top lip, already licked clean of the blood of the deer. Delicious, she might add. He was an odd looking helix. Wings, feathers, weird little do-das on the crown of his skull..Handsome to boot. His markings were interesting and distracted her train of thought a moment before she brought it back to stare into his eyes for truth. Was he a threat? He did seem dangerous but not the type to scavenge off her kill. Another type. A more lethal type.

Altair chuckled softly, hiding the pure pleasure within. It wasn't often he found a female that returned his comments, let alone complimented him in return. Far too often, they responded rudely or with threats lately. Where was the fun in that?
Her movements betrayed her concern and he quickly set to easing her fears. 'No worries, my dear. I've already fed, and quite well I might add. Food is plentiful enough around here.' He slipped in a mischievous smile, adding, 'But of course, your prey is not what caught my attention. You've already done that quite handily yourself.'
He stood, sweeping his wings outward briefly for a half-bow, still grinning at her. 'My name is Altair, an Alpha from the East. Might I trouble the beauty before me for her name as well?'

Eden smirked at his slight cheesiness. It was adorable and odd at the same time. Not many males came on in such a manner. Usually they were brute and tough-a** type. Much like her brother Eros tended to be. She shrugged as he committed in her disposition. Of coarse she was going to be wary of a male intruding on her hunt. Especially an older, foreign male.
Eden smiled back, lowering her head and looking up at Altair at an angle. "I'm Eden of the west.. I live here now Mr. Altair.." she cooed his name softly, her tail curling around her legs as remained in her seat next to her food. "May I ask of your visit to the neutral territory monsieur?" She used the word her mom had taught her when she was little. It was a polite way to say mister.

'I've been to all the territories,' Altair admitted with a touch of pride, taking a seat as well with careful consideration for his wings and feathers. 'However, recently, I decided to settle back home in the East. I guess the wandering bug isn't so easily shaken, though at least now, I have a place to return to more permanently.'
She carried herself well...confident, but not arrogant. Even in the face of an older, male Helix. Not only her stride, but her conversation skills showed she lacked none on the verbal front either.
Even while he talked, Altair continued to analyze the young lady. So far, he liked what he saw.
'Still, I'm always on the search for what means the most; the better things in life. Beauty, entertainment, joy...and whatnot.' Again with the winning smile.
'And yourself? Was the west not suited to your liking, mademoiselle?' He was far from uncultured, as he was pleased to display.

Eden hummed a quiet laugh, the smile spreading. She didn't find it truly funny but entertaining to herself that this male was the first helix she had encountered to ask why she left the west. She lifted her head and tilted it to the right as she explained, the smile gone as she focused on the words of her story. "My mother and father were alphas that had broken from a pack of low life helix's.. thieves, murders, the unintelligible kind.. and with me and my brothers to take care of, they would hunt.. often."
She didn't shift her position or show any signs of nervousness or not comfortable. Though she didn't look into Atlair's eyes like she had been. She was glancing over his shoulder as she remembered the story not in the words in her head but in the images she remembered.
" One afternoon, they were taking us out on our first hunting lesson that we'd get to participate in. My mom was wary about letting us hunt with them so we'd had a lot of the instructional and demonstrations training for taking down prey.. We, my brothers and I, we're ready to go. We were thirsting for the action of a kill.. heh.." Her tail figited slightly. "It was abnormally hot and in a dry season.. my mom and dad we're going to take down something, then let us try.. suddenly, as they were charging, the plains caught fire.. surrounded them.. engulfed them.." She swallowed a thick thumb that had formed in her throat. ".. Me and my brothers were helpless to save them.. so we stayed there for days, didn't hunt or eat, barely drank.. and we finally decided this was enough of this pitiful living and we all agreed to start a new some where else. Eris, my littlest brother suggested neutral.. It didn't have any hazardous whether or so our mom told us.."
Eden finished, noticing she was babbling a little and bowed her head with an apologetic smile. "Sorry..about that.." she whispered and uncurling her tail to rest beside her.

Frowning deeply, Altair kept a respectful silence until Eden was finished speaking. 'Please, don't apologize. Even a sad tale sometimes needs to be shared, and it's an honor to be allowed to share it. I'm only saddened that you had to be subjected to such misfortune in your life.'
Part of Altair wanted to move to comfort her...but the rest of him figured she wouldn't be the type to take that sort of action well. Not from someone who was still a stranger for the most part.
Guess he'd just have to fix that, eh?
'Life can be a challenge just to survive; only the special ones may managed to thrive. You've done well for yourself, from what I can see,' the peacock Alpha continued, keeping a respectful distance while offering a slight smile.
'Sometimes, even tragedy has something to teach us, if we have the courage to look deep enough to find it.'

Eden smirked a tad at his slight cheesiness again. "Thanks.." she murmured, noticing his confused body language. He seemed like he wanted to comfort me, just wasn't aware of how. Was she truly that confusing? Shrugging off of that train of thought, smiling more. "You seem wise, yet look so young and youthful.. interesting." she said in a flirtatious, intrigued tone.
Her tail flicked around, her fur brushed with the slight wind, blowing Altair's scent towards her. It was strong and attractive. Clean but sensual. She noticeably took a slight deep whiff, smiling again, eyes closed. "Not to bad.." she murmured more, opening her eyes slightly.

Altair chuckled softly, feathered tail curling slightly around his back legs as if matching the coy look he shot Eden with a cheeky smirk. 'I try to eat right and exercise. Does a body good, you know.' He winked after that, wings shifting slightly against his back.
He noticed exactly what the female was doing and while her eyes were closed, arched an eyebrow at her. Interesting. This was going quite well for him so far.
'You know, dear,' he started without a hint of shame, in fact grinning all the while. 'If you really wanted a closer look...all you had to do was ask.'

Eden chuckled quietly, in a soothing voice. "But that wouldn't be very lady like now would it?" she asked, rhetorically. Her tail curled around her body, to rest against her chest. "No.. It wouldn't." she answered her own question, returning his wink with her own. Her grin was slight, not reaching her eyes that were now surveying his body. Very, very nice.

The peacock almost laughed aloud, but restrained himself to only a slight smirk. 'Hmm...perhaps...' He shot her a sly, devious look. 'But what if I promised not to tell? I can keep a secret...'
Altair, though he set his standards high, he also had a wide variety of things he looked for. Beauty was important, yes. But so was independence. He liked a female that could keep up with him as well, both physically and mentally. He certainly didn't mind a little playfulness.

She saw him stifle a noise and smirked more, growing with amusement. "I prefer to be mannered with everyone. And the secret wouldn't be worth much if you knew.." she grinned a little, flicking her tail about. Suddenly she put on a uninterested expression, eying him out of the corner of her eye.
"Of course.. You don't have to be mannered towards me.. You are in fact an alpha, a superior to me." she grinned devilishly, over to him as she stood to her feet and turned, her bottom facing him. She flicked her tail up to brush against his jaw line, her face turning from him completely. She was loving this attention.

Jackpot.
No, no, no...
It took everything the male had to keep his feathered tail from wagging. Technically, she was right. If one put stock in rank alone, he could do what he wanted...
But that wasn't really Altair's style.
The game of seduction was so much more fun...and rewarding in the long run...
Still...the game could take many forms.
He playfully snapped at the air as her tail brushed his muzzle, grinning devilishly. 'You have a point there, even if you're treading on dangerous ground, missy.' He chuckled, half flaring his wings as he stood and stepped closer to the teasing female. He stood close, his size allowing him to hold his wing easily over her without actually touching her. He just wanted to be close, teasing her like she was teasing him.
'I mean...taunting an Alpha male, all on your own? You've got guts, girl, I'll give you that.' He was speaking lower now, head hovering beside hers, a mischievous glint in his eye. 'I like guts. Means you might actually be able to keep up with me.'
Smirking, he growled softly, more like a feline's purr than of a threatening nature, and darted in to lick her nose, pulling back just enough to watch her reaction, cheeky grin still gracing his muzzle.

Eden didn't mind the hovering, it was flattering. And she appreciated the compliments he was giving her. He was an odd fellow but in a gentlemen like way. She saw his quick movement out of the corner of her eye, but didn't flinch. He wouldn't attack her right now. No, if he wanted to harm her, he'd wait a little longer to tease his prey.
When he licked her cheek, she only grinned at him from the corner of her eye, seemingly not giving it a single thought. Him still in reach of her tail, she swooped it over his head, messing with the little doodads on his skull. She'd get back at him when he approached her again.
To lure her target back, Eden arched her tail higher and swayed her hips more so, as she circled the carcass. Her body moved fluidly like a lioness on a hunt. She'd learned to copy their movements quite well, living most of her life in the west. Her eyes locked with his, never moving, her neck arched and her head angled downward. "So, Altair.. " she cooed his name quietly again, barely moving her lips as she spoke. " You believe I'm treading on dangerous grounds?" she asked, grinning slightly as she spoke, a quite laughing escaping. "Elaborate as to why you would be-" by now, she'd made a full circle back to him. She nuzzled under his neck, nipping playfully at his jaw fur before walking from him, her tail trailing around his jaw again. "dangerous for me?"
