I'm looking for info about two ESP basses :
-LTD F-404 -LTD F-254
price range, reviews, details, anything will do... All i've seen so far are the Ultimate-guitars reviews:
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/bass_guitars/esp/ltd_f-404/index.html http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/bass_guitars/esp/ltd_f-254/index.html
The 404 is more expensive i belive...
btw: how come the 254 isn't on the ESP website ?

Those are nice basses for looks and stuff, but I've never been one for ESP personally. Their stuff is all right, but to me the LTD models have all ways been kinda less then the real stuff. I like a few of their guitars, but the basses are kinda meh ish. I do like the F series, but IDK if it is worth the money. (I would get the F-4E personally, I like the wood grain on the Ebony tops it is beautiful.)

I've played with a Squier special P-bass for 4 years now... A LTD can only be better...
I'm torn between the Schecter stiletto extreme 4 and LTD F-154
Any advice ?

What the heck is the Stiletto Extreme? I've never heard of that model, and it isn't on Schecter's website.
If I were you, I'd be going for a standard Fender or something of the sort. If you really want an ESP because of its looks, I have to tell you that I've played a ton of basses, and once it's under your fingers, looks don't matter. For example I generally don't like the look of Fender's P Basses, but I picked one up at a music store yesterday, and I couldn't get enough of how it played. Try playing a few different basses in your price range, even if you don't like their looks, and then decide what you want.

I've thought about Fenders a lot obviously. Having a Squier it's the standard thing to do, but i'm more into alternative rock and metal these days, so the Fenders aren't quite what i'm looking for...
The Stiletto extreme is on the Schecter website... www.schecterguitars.com

What is it about Fenders that you don't like? How do they not fit what you are looking for?
All I see are the Stiletto Custom, Deluxe, Elite, and Studio. confused

It's not that i dont like Fenders, I love them, I think everybody does. They sound awsome and look great! within their genre...
If i was going to do a cover of any punk rock / funk / blues band, and many more, i would use a Fender for sure.
But with my band we play alternative rock and metal, using loads of distortion / overdrive / fuzz effects.. I find that Esp's, schecters, ibanez's sound better for that type of music.

Meh. I guess I'm just not a big fan of distorted bass.

Okay, hang on, I think I just figured it out. In what country do you live (i.e., when the site asks, what do you choose)?
