Smiling softly to herself, the graceful young mare threaded her way through the shadows of the forest. Hooves following an invisible pathway long since committed to memory. The sounds of the night were familiar to the slender blue ears that bobbed softly, brushed by the weaving mane that foamed along the crest of her neck.
The daughter of the ocean was at ease in the night. Eyes that resembled the harvest moon were calm as they roamed slowly over the black and silver forest.
With a flick of her tail she stepped off the pathway, threading daintily through the brush and ancient trees until at last, she stepped out into a moonlit clearing. Pausing a moment she glanced round the area, golden eyes habitually checking the shadows that sat in sharp relief against the silver-gilded foliage. It was a mere habit, for she knew that few visited this particular clearing as she herself had been a frequent visitor for some years.
Stepping out into the dancing light of the moon, she moved across the clover-covered ground till she stood before the pool that sat in the center. It was a natural spring, its waters clear and cool. But on nights like this, with the moon at her fullest and hanging high and proud in the sky, the pool below took on an almost magical quality. Perfectly round, it seemed to cradle the moon above. Birthing a twin within its sweet waters.
Lowering her head, the mare dipped her muzzle into the pool. The silver water was sweet and chilled. As she drank, she could almost feel the moonlight moving through her. After a moment she lifted her dripping muzzle, golden eyes fixed on the moon high overhead. The silver light gilding her sunset-hued body with its pale light, shimmering along her back like the breaking crests of ocean waves.
Daughter of the ocean she was, yet also was she born of the moon. And it was nights like these that she felt connected to both.

Moonlight gazing and nighttime pool drinking might have been romantic and all but as Yugure watched the mare stare dreamily off into the cold white disc in the sky, a single thought formed within the stallion’s mischievous mind.
Victim…
He would greet her. Yes he would.
Taking a measured step forward in a manner that would have made him look rather regal in stature, the stallion then paused and seemed to think that formality was a waste of time and with a sudden leap and a and bound, the stallion began to swiftly canter over to where the mare was; his hooves making just the barest of sounds as he cleared what remained of the little distance between them.

The faint sounds of hoofbeats over clover barely disturbed the water mare's musings. One blue ear twitched, finally detecting the strangers presence moments before he came upon her. With a startled snort she darted away from the pool's edge, small hooves gouging out chunks of earth as she shot sideways.
Tail flying she spun round, leaving long slashes in the ground as she skidded to a halt a few strides from him. Golden eyes wide in surprise before she had the chance to register what it was that had gave her such a scare.
Blue, that was the first impression she received before the details slowly made themselves obvious. A soquili, and a stallion. Well.. that was a good start, plus he didn't look like a skinwalker. Graceful ears lifted from where they had pinned themselves against her head. A uni-like tail, though no horn she noted... furry ears, well that was weird... and...
The Strangest pair of wings she had ever seen!! He wasn't anything like Apollo or Vytali, or even Zhū. Curiosity lit her gaze as she lifted her head.
"Well.. hello there. You gave me quite the fright." She grinned, curly tail flicking against her rump as she settled a ruffled coat back down again.

The mare was fast. That much Yugure would admit as he watched her scramble from the edge of the pool. Fast but too trusting by far as the mare had already seemed to drop her guard when she had supposedly perceived that he was not a threat.
Not a threat?
That thought amused the blue coloured stallion mightily and he let out an eerie sounding laughter that seemed to echo across the moonlit area.
Turning around, Yugure met the mare’s golden eyes and grinned. She had funny looking eyes; that mare, and Yugure was curious. Stepping up to her, Yugure ignored all sense of privacy and personal space and only stopped because he would have had to go through her if he were to continue.
Flicking his fox-like ears forward, Yugure stared at the mare for a moment and his grin, if possible, became wider. “Fright? You had?”

The laughter startled her, adding another thought to the string moving through her mind in regards to the unusual blue stallion. A wee bit crazy in the head perhaps? Or maybe like Vytali, he liked to play games? That sounded much more interesting than his being insane and he didn't really look crazy. No drooling or mad eye rolling or anything like that.
Blue brows lifted as the stallion paced over, golden gaze following the stranger as he drew close. And closer... and closer.. Blinking she fought the urge to go cross-eyed as she struggled to see the stallion's face, though it was so close they were nearly pressed against each other from forehead to muzzle.
Blinking again she slowly extended one hind leg behind her, then drew herself back enough to look up at the.. somewhat imposing height of the blue male. "Eh? Oh yes... you startled me with that entrance. I must admit though..." She tilted her head, foaming mane rippling along her neck in a way that had nothing to do with the wind.
"... that’s exactly what Vytali did to me the first time I met him. is it, like, a stallion-thing?" She asked, ears pricking in curiosity.

“Stallion thing?” Yugure asked, still grinning a little insanely but as to whether the stallion was actually insane had been a cause of debate for many. For one thing, no one could truthfully say that his eyes were rolling as he had mere slits where eyes should have been and Yugure had, on occasion, behaved sanely enough when it suited him. Now however, insanity was the choice attitude tonight and Yugure flicked his tail in an amused but sinister manner.
“Stallions have, many thing, yes?” Yugure said taking a step forward for each step the mare took backward. “Mare not scared? Alone? Bad stallion can be,” Yugure said as he grinned wider. Now, a statement like that would and should probably send any self respecting mare fleeing and Yugure was getting impatient. The night was not getting any younger and the stallion would be cranky if he couldn’t play a trick on at least three others.

Hakumei wasn't exactly known for being subtle though, and lack of any obvious, to her mind, insane habits made the stallion quite normal, or at least one that interacting with was possible. His manner of speech, however, certainly caused her to do a double take and she blinked at him.
".......... many things?" She paused, giving it some thought. "Well.. I suppose so. Though that wasn't really what I ment.." She gave up stepping backwards when he shadowed her, and instead focused her gaze on his ears, since she couldn't quite watch his slitted eyes without going cross-eyed herself. Randomly she wondered if that was indeed shy he had such weird eyes.. he probably stood so close to everyone all the time that they were stuck like that!
"Bad stallion can be? You?" She blinked at him, peering round at his flank as it that would give her the answer to his unusual comment. Looking back she stayed leaning to the side, finding she could actually focus on his face that way. "You don't seem it, really bad stallions don't say anything, they just eat you." Or so she had been told.
