Introduction

It is early spring, around May of the year 2010. Hordes of "zombies" have been spotted in mass numbers around the city. There are limited survivors, numbering under 100. There is no running water and those who are not "infected" have resorted to thieving and raiding to survive.Conditions are bad, and they are slowly getting worse.

For reasons unknown to anyone, the "zombies" are only active during the day. This makes being outside during the day an act of suicide. The only time any non-infected personnel can be out safely is during the night, and this is the only time that they can act without fear of being attacked.

Although it is only a rumor, some say that the "infection" was caused by or related to a flu vaccine that was released to a few hundred people about a year ago.

Currently, there are a few safety areas located around the city, the most sheltered of which is inside a Hospital on the inner ring of the city. It has been barricaded, and those inside have built up a small supply of canned goods and other provisions. Every person can choose not to go and stay in this hospital, but they are strongly advised to do so unless they desire a very painful death.

Rules of the role play

Okay, from now on, everyone needs to follow these rules, or else they are out of the role play. Yes, that includes me, and if you ever catch me breaking one of these feel free to bring it up to me.

Anyways... here ya go.

**First offense of these rules will result in a warning. Second offense will result in a permanent ban from the role play**

--No god modding. Controlling other characters for them, unless they say it's okay, is not right and will be noted. Winning every fight is also considered god modding. Make your character act like you would in real life (meaning no overpowered senses or godly ability to dodge attacks).
--Posts happen in Chronological Order. This means that if someone beats you to saying something, then theirs happens first. You can't say that theirs happens after yours if your post is after theirs. Also, this means that if your post doesn't fit with those who are in front of you, you should edit yours to fit.
--Keep it PG-15. This includes clothing and words, not just actions. Swearing is allowed, although you aren't allowed to swear every other word.
--Literate and Semi-literate people only. I expect you to be able to type out two sentences without hitting the "Submit" button. We're not in a race, after all. Also, try to be grammatically correct.

Any questions? PM me.

Completed Characters

User Name: Phenox1707
Character Name: Leif Zundel
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance: He is about 5'7" and he's thin (since he doesn't eat too often). He tends to wear lighter clothing, the usual garbs of a doctor or doctors-assistant.
Personality: He is a nice person to most people. He's enjoys working, and feels that a good work ethic is important in people. He easily gets along with those like him, and he despises people who are rude or impulsive.
Background: He originally grew up in another town. Nothing much to say there. The town was normal, and probably still is. He moved to this town with his parents when he was about 8. They lived in a normal-sized house. A normal life. He grew up like most normal people would. When he was 16, he decided to become a doctor, and after high school he received an internship for the local hospital. He was soon promoted to a half-time, and then full-time job, because of his hard work and effort. He used this job to get to know the ins and outs of the hospital, and he even got one of the doctors to teach him basic and a bit of advanced medical procedures. However, this was when the "infection" happened. Almost everyone in the hospital became zombies immediately, since hospital personnel are usually close to sick people. Leif was able to get all of the zombies out by running through all of them and drawing them out. He then boarded up the entire edge of the hospital. He has resided there since.
Likes: Medical technology, work, corn, and bottled water.
Dislikes: Rude people, carrots, and large crowds of people
Possessions: He has a bunch of medical equipment, most of which cannot be carried on his person for safety reason. He has a first aid kit and a pocket knife on him, along with a cell phone.
Other Information (Including relationships with other characters, if any): (None at the moment)

User Name: Rogue_94

Character Name: Erica Daerly
Age: 19

Gender: Female

Appearance: Sharp features, cropped black hair. Stands at 5’ 7” and tries to stay in shape.

Personality: Erica is very quiet. Rarely does she say anything, for fear of being mocked. She usually was the odd one out at her high school. Miss Daerly is shy and prefers to be alone.
Background: Before the Invasion, she’d planned to attend her local college close to the town she’d grown up in. She knew she wanted to do something in architecture, as she was skilled with knives and clay, plus enjoyed searching ancient Greek and French buildings. All her life she dreamed of getting out, but Erica couldn’t afford it. Mr. and Mrs. Daerly, along with Erica’s brother (pretty much the rest of the family) felt she was an odd child. They despised her interests, and for this Erica became the silent girl of today.

Likes: Reading, building, listening to rock music

Dislikes: Zombies, talkative people, idiots

Possessions: Her walkman, numerous salvaged books about world architecture, short stories from the Grimm Brothers, flashlights, old clothes. She keeps her sculpting tools on her for protection. The rest she has stashed inside the attic of her house, which is barricaded save for a small window. Erica considers it her Window of Hope, as the sun rises directly into it.

Other Information: The Invasion has been especially hard on Erica, as she has mild diabetes.

Current Situation

Congratulations. You are one of the survivors. You don't know how, you don't know why, but somehow you managed to avoid the "infection." Your goal is to survive as long as possible. You don't know much about the "zombies", and they don't know much about you. However, unless you act fast, they will get a hold of you and you won't like the result.

Although you are your own master, a suggested course of action is to make your way toward the hospital. Might want to grab something to protect yourself too. Gather information and use your surroundings to insure your survival. Other than that, you're on your own. Good luck.

Leif sat down against the door and sighed. He'd finally finished drawing all of the zombies out of the hospital, as well as boarding up all of the doors from the outside, so now it was safe from them. However, the hospital food would only last so long, and he didn't know what he was going to do when the time came for him to find more. He stood up and started walking through the corridors, closing shades every time he came to a window.

Erica sat quietly against an old pillow, the midday sun glaring through her window. It highlighted the layers of dust that had been stirred up after scurrying away from the zombies. No one had been up here for years, but in a matter of just a few days she'd made it a home. The shuffle of feet stirred downstairs occasionally, but other than that there was silence. Erica suddenly directed her attention to the ray of light from the cieling. What was that?
