On the Western beach of the Island is a bar, appearing to have been constructed out of beachwood and bamboo. Closer inspection reveals that it is solidly constructed and lined with rust resistant metals. The bar is long, with stools attached in front of it. Inside the metal containers that line the underside is almost every time of liqueur or mix you might need to make any kind of drink that you could think of. Barring imagination, attached to the top of the fridge is a list of myriad types of mixed drinks and their ingredients. As all the alcohol available is high grade; it is very obvious that Moreau did not spare any expense.

On Christmas day the alcohol and mixers were restored!

While all of the electricity to the Bar is turned off, just like each and every one of the buildings, all of the alcohol has been left here, behind.

HOWEVER - no more is being restocked.

All ice has melted or will very soon. Anything cold isn't any more.

Aubrey headed down to the beach, a book under one arm and her bag of sunscreen and other tanning supplies in the other. Seeing Valentine again really aggrivated the little, self-conscious fat girl inside her no comely woman could ever truely overcome. She had spent the better part of the morning in the staff work-out room, something she sadly hadn't done since she came to the island, and was now going to treat herself to a tanning session on the beach as a reward.

Anyway, she needed to get her tan back. She lost most of on her vacation.

Sitting on one of the stools, she poored herself a glass of flavored water, wishing she could have a drink instead.. but she had to watch those calories!!

It seemed that Aubrey was not the only person thinking about a good bit of sun today; Jamal had decided to head to the beach for a good swim and a bit of beach running to help counteract the muscle loss he suffered during the two months in the wilderness. One might think he would have gotten enough of the beach during Sabin's 'experiment', but the tiger in him LOVED the water. The sand was wonderful for building strength in the legs also.

However, it had quickly grown too warm for him and he had stopped, deciding that a nice alcoholic beverage would be just the thing while he cooled down and waited for night to fall. Thus, Jamal had walked the length of the beach, heading for the beach bar that had hopefully been restocked. Why shouldn't it, anyway? Everything else was functional and certainly he wasn't the only islander to appreciate a good drink.

As he approached, he caught sight of a female at the counter and got a bit of a smirk on his face. He couldn't see her face, just her back from the direction he was coming, but didn't mind too much. At least, yet.

This could be fun.

Aubrey sipped at her drink, and set up her iPod to its portable speakers and began playing some music.

She was alone, at least she hadn't seen anyone on her walk down to the beach, so she untied the sarong and let it fall to the ground, revealing her two-peice swimsuit she planned on using to devop her tan. It certainly wasn't a "string" bikini or anything, but it was a lot less fabric that Aubrey ever liked to see herself in anywhere outside her bedroom. She dolloped the oil into her palm and propped her leg up on the other stool, beginning to work it into her skin.

Between the music and the sand, she was completely oblivious to anyone approaching.

When the sarong dropped, Jamal's eyes adopted a predatory glare as he checked out the woman without any sense of shame or feeling of wrong-doing. He was simply admiring the female form. A sly grin sprawled over his features as he approached the bar with a casual swagger, whiskers fluffing as he grew somewhat cocky. A quick glance around told him it was just him and this bikini-ed woman. Excellent.

He was nearly upon the bar when he did finally call out to her, giving a low-voice "Well, hello," that nearly dripped with a seductive tone.

Aubrey nearly jumped out of skin, the other voice completely sneaking up at on her. Not just voice, a male voice..and on top of that, the kind of voice most confident men get when they are checking out a woman.

She jumped up quicky and tried to spin the stool around to face him, using her foot for leverage. But, being it was still slick with suntan lotion, and the fact that Aubrey was startled out of her wits, the stool managed to spin around and send Aubrey flying off it at the same time.

She landed on her butt in the sand with a cry. She looked up with horror, her cheeks burning scalding red with embarassment.

"Reedy..?" she finally stuttered out, growing even more red. Of all the people to see her like -this- why did it have to be the stunningly handsome black man with a vengence, bad temper, and TIGER blood.

Jamal looked alarmed as she suddenly went flying and had tried to catch her, but he wasn't quite close enough to do so anyway. Well, best to at least look like he made an attempt, right? Ladies didn't appreciate falling on their a** without a guy at least trying to help.

"Whoa, s**t, yous a'ight?" he queried hastily, offering a clawed hand down to her to assist her to her feet. "I didn't mean ta scare ya..." He'd only seen Aubrey once and that was in different circumstances, so it made sense that he hadn't yet recognized her. Though, as he continued to look at her, it was clear that some notion or another had struck him, because his cocky, self-assured look had developed into a critical, fast-thinking expession.

Jamal's eyes seemed to bore into hers as he continued to offer his hand and effectively lost any sort of warmth or friendiness they might have had; He had to know this woman from somewhere and the fact that she knew his name only confirmed it. It made him suspicious, to say the least. Jamal -rarely- could not remember a woman he had met.

"Ah, uh.. thank you," Aubrey said, taking Jamal's hand and getting up. She brushed off the sand from her thighs and rear hastily and then quickly made work of trying to tie her sarong back around her waist.

"I'm fine, thank you, you just startled me thats all Mr. Reedy," she said quickly, adjusting her glasses. Though Jamal might not recognize her, he didn't have the advantage of thousands of surveillence cameras.

She just looked at him for a moment, not knowing what to say - then it occured to her all at once - it was a look of unrecognition on this face. Aubrey often forgot that she knew a lot more about the islanders than they knew about her. Having to watch them for hours on end, she really began to feel at times like she knew the people here, often times forgetting that some of them haven't met her at all.

Her blush faded a bit as her blood ran cold. She didn't want to reveal who she was, but the look on his face gave away that he had an idea. No use avioding the elephant in the room. She cleared her throat. "Ah, Aubrey Lockheart... if you remember..."

Of course he would, you silly woman, she scholded herself, you're the unfortunate one who gave him his serum in the first place...

The black man forced a smile as she explained that she had been startled and used a formal name for him, never losing the calculating expression until she finally gave up her name. It had been right there on the tip of his tongue and he would have figured it out either way, unfortunately for her.

Jamal looked unmoved by the name at first because he was piecing the name with a memory, but his eyes suddenly narrowed harshly, the pupils constricting as his glare sharpened ten fold. The hand that had helped her up balled up except for his index finger, which he pointed at her with, aware that his claws were definately weapon-worthy. The knife he had swiped from the kitchen was tucked in the waistband of his jeans; he never went anywhere without it now.

"It's -YOU-," he nearly bellowed as his nostrils flared with a sharp inhale of breath, fangs peeking from his lips as he snarled. "YOU did this to me! You ********' LIED to me!"

Aubrey's eyes widened and she backed up against the bar, surprised. She was aware most people were not exactly happy about their situation, but Jamal was the first subjects that looked positively enranged. She shyed away from the claw with a wince.

"Lying is a strong word..." she stuttered out, aware of how pathetic it sounded. She hated being called on being so outright under-handed. Its true, Aubrey, no matter how bad of experimentation she had to do, hated to directly lie...even though it usually came to that. Especially with the initial injection. "Please... calm yourself..."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 12, 2006 7:09 pm

"Lyin' is what you DID," he retorted angrily, advancing as she moved away, growing more ticked off that she moved away. "Don't ya DARE ********' tell me to 'calm maself'. Ya THINK turnin' into a ********' animal isn't nuthin' ta be pissed off about? DO YA? DO YA? THIS AIN'T NORMAL."

He growled, his gaze fixed on her eyes without hardly a blink interrupting the glare that emitted from them, his sharp teeth flashing as he spoke in a highly animated manner, his hands cutting the air.

Aubrey tried to steele herself, but her attempts came out flat and unimpressive, especially since her voice was shaking. "Mr. Reedy I'm going to have to insist you back away and calm down if this conversation is going to continue," she squeaked. She reached up and gently put a shaking hand on his chest and pushing. Well, not really pushy as applying enough pressure to indicate she really wished he'd back off.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 12, 2006 7:23 pm

The response was like lightning. His hands went from flailing in the arm to latching on immediately to her, one at her wrist and the other near her elbow. For the moment, he was careful with his claws, but his grip was firm. His face contorted into a threatening snarl, eyes flashing.

"DON'T. ********'. TOUCH ME. EVA.," he snapped at her, more or less throwing her hand away from him, causing little more damage than a skin welt from the grip. "You dun enough already. You ******** up ma life and ev'ryone else on dis godfo'saken shithole...let us nearly die out herr fo' da past two months, 'n' now you wanna act like you jus' playin' 'n' you's ain't a bad guy? ******** no. ********. NO. Jamal don't play dat game. If you wasn't a lady, I would ******** YO' a** UP wit'out question."

He still wanted to hurt her. Hurt her REAL bad. The fact that the tiger instincts of confrontation had started to flicker on in the background of his thought processes wasn't helping his control either. They were fueling him on slowly...always slowly...but they were there.

Aubrey looked more scared than hurt as she grabbed her, throwing her hand away. She cried out a bit, quickly cradling it. A red light flashed in her mind, and she comtemplated signaling the chip right then and there. But Aubrey promised herself she would use that in only a real emergency.

Her eyes instinctivly threw a pleading look up to the camera in the corner of the bar. I wonder who's on camera duty. It obviously wasn't Moreau, or Jamal would be flat on his back by now. She prayed whoever it was was paying attention incase things got too ugly too quick for her.

"CALM DOWN or you'll regret it," she finally spit out, this time sounding more convincing than before. Though her voice was still shaky from fear, it didn't sound like an empty threat.

"I didn't leave you out here for the two months, goddammit," she said, courage coming a bit more steadily now. She was still steamed about how that went down, and she was angry at herself for letting Moreau wiggle off the hook for it so soon. She had promised herself he would be in the doghouse for at least a week or two. But oh no... one little pity party from that man and she was moaning like a whore for him a few hours later. It was enough, in retrospect, to even disgust herself. "I wasn't even here, okay. And you... and you... " she was careful with her words. She started to say 'outta be thanking me' but she knew that would probably her self nearly killed.

So she swallowed and started over. "if it weren't for me you'd be in an even worse situation than you already are." There... that sounded a bit better.
