Sometimes doing what you want to do takes a lot of work.
I've always wanted to become a breeder ever since I lived with my parents on their Pokemon Ranch.
However, things are not quite how they worked out for my parents.
My parents raise different types of canine Pokemon, but I know that isn't my calling.
For me, Feebas are my calling.
Certainly most people prefer Milotics to Feebas, but I find Feebas to be full of much more personality.
I have come to Zatao to find myself a place to settle down to set up my own Fish Pokemon Ranch.

 Trainer Name: Phoebe McPherson Age: 25 Gender: Female Hair: Short and messy auburn/orange hair. Eyes: Blue like water Other physical traits: Mildly tanned with freckles all over her body, relatively average weight with a rather flat chest. Clothes: Being quite the tom-boy, Phoebe avoids wearing anything too frilly or unnecessary. She wears a pair of goggles on her forehead, for she occasionally needs to check up on the insides of her Pokemon's tanks, which means dunking her head in water. She likes to get as much sun as she can and will wear a minimal amount of clothing for her upper body, usually consisting of a binding of her chest so that said region won't get in her way. She'll wear a cloth tied to her arm solely so she has it available should she need to wipe off her face from any stray splashes of water. Her lower half, she wears a sort of rubber pants to prevent her body from getting wet or overly weighed down from any soaking. She wears galoshes because she frequently has to step into tanks to check for any possible leaks or malfunctions of filtering machinery. Place of Origin: Hoenn - Along Route 119, near Fortree City Profession: Pokemon Breeder Personality: Phoebe is an energetic and determined girl. Her energy usually can only be rivaled by that of her Growlithe, Dakota. She is always eager to help when she can, and always works her hardest, even if just volunteering. She likes doing things selflessly and rarely will ask for payment for "spur of the moment" situations. Due to her desire to be helpful, she frequently comes across as a person who is easy to befriend. She has some minor issues she has very set views upon (such as Feebas being better than Milotic), but otherwise, she is very open to the views of others. Life before Zatao: As a child, Phoebe had been used to working hard on her parents' Pokemon Ranch for canine Pokemon. She would do many of the household chores, such as cleaning, feeding various Pokemon, tending to living spaces for the Pokemon, and much more. Despite her parents' voiced preferences of her inheriting their business, Phoebe decided to work towards becoming a breeder for Feebas. She studied and saved up money slowly all the way through schooling so she could start her own Pokemon Fish Ranch. Living within walking distance from a body of water where Feebas lived, she eventually caught one and kept it in a decent sized tank on the ranch. She collected various berries and herbs and worked with this Feebas on emphasizing its own natural beauty. After schooling, Phoebe continued to work on her parents' ranch due to some of the employees needing to leave. It took quite a few years, but her parents found suitable new workers that they felt they could trust and possibly pass the business to should their daughter still not want it when they retired. At that time, Phoebe decided to bring her prized Feebas with her to Zatao, a new land where she could set up shop. Phoebe's parents didn't want her to be left unprotected, so they gave her one of their finest Growlithes to accompany her for the trip.

 Name: Venus Gender: Female Species: Feebas Most Common Attacks: Ice Beam, Captivate, Water Pulse, Mirror Coat Ability: Swift Swim Nature: Rash Likes: Dry flavors Pokedex Entry: It is famous for its shabby appearance. While populous, they tend to cluster in set locations. Marking: She is a "shiny" recessive Pokemon. She has tan, yellow, orange, and light purple markings over her general body, splotched about like that of a Koi. She also has basic blue fins. Specialty: Breeding-Pokemon Personality: For being a Feebas, Venus certainly has a lot more personality to her than one would think. Having been brainwashed by her trainer after quite a few years worth of constant compliments, Venus is convinced she is the most beautiful fish in the sea. Indeed, she is actually quite beautiful and she'd be able to evolve into a Milotic... if she wanted to. This Feebas has long been past the point of evolving, but by choice has decided not to. She knows it means a lot to her trainer, but she actually feels she is solely doing it for herself. She is a Pokemon that is quick to judge others and will usually rashly come up with a judgment as to how the other Pokemon she interacts actually "are." Story: Once upon a time, Venus was a wild Feebas minding her own business in the stream on Route 119 of the Hoenn region. One day, she saw something interesting at the top of the water nested amongst the reeds, so before even thinking it through, she went to investigate it. It wasn't long before the fish Pokemon was caught by Phoebe. However, her life became pretty sweet after that point. She got a relatively large tank to swim around in, she was fed all sorts of dry food (which was her favorite), was treated nearly like a princess, and was fed compliments on her beauty daily. Certainly, some of the foods that Phoebe fed Venus did help emphasize her natural beauty, and even helped emphasize some of her unusual markings/coloration. The thing that made the Feebas happiest was how her trainer loved her for being a Feebas rather than a Milotic. After living with her trainer for quite a few years, she is convinced she has no need for evolving. She is in fact thrilled that her trainer has decided to move someplace new to start out on her dreams of being a breeder, which Phoebe has assured Venus that the Feebas will be the prized possession. And so Venus went with Phoebe to Zatao...

 Name: Dakota Gender: Female Species: Growlithe Most Common Attacks: Fire Fang, Crunch, Sleep Talk, Double Team Ability: Flash Fire Nature: Hardy Likes: All flavors Pokedex Entry: A Pokemon with a loyal nature. It will remain motionless until it is given an order by its Trainer. Marking: A major feature which she is missing is her tail, which was docked as a pup so it would be easier for her to herd other Pokemon. She is mostly black with some white sections on her face, chest, legs, and tummy. She has some brown on her face too. Along the white sections, you can find many speckles/spots of brown and black. All-in-all, she basically has "Tri-color" markings. Specialty: Battle-Pokemon (more like a guard dog rather than formal battles) Personality: Loyal, friendly, and ridiculously silly are all good descriptions of Dakota. Despite being called a "guard-dog" most of the time, she is far from it. She loves everyone and everything for the most part, but occasionally will just have a "bad feeling" about one individual and let them know it. She loves to greet everyone with love by jumping up on them and sometimes nibbling gently on their fingers. She has a lot of random quirks, like the fact that she likes to herd things. Usually that tends to be fish-Pokemon on Phoebe's Ranch. She also is an active sleeper, meaning she sleep talks AND physically mimics whatever she might be dreaming (running, digging, etc.). Just a note: if she looks like she's snarling at you, but isn't growling, then Dakota's just smiling the best a puppy-Pokemon can. Story: Born to a litter which Connor and Molly McPherson had bred on their Pokemon Ranch, Dakota had been in Phoebe's life ever since the puppy Pokemon was born. She was part of the litter sired by a Mightyena (Rocky) and an Arcanine (Natasha) who are both considered prized Pokemon for the owners of the Pokemon Ranch. She had a pretty good early life. She had her tail docked at an early age and was raised to be a work-Pokemon who would help herd the younger Pokemon. However, with Phoebe's decision to leave for Zatao, Connor and Molly decided it would be best for her to bring some protection in case of any danger. Knowing the Dakota was well-trained, she was the one given the job of keeping Phoebe and Venus company.

 Name: Adonis Gender: Male Species: Feebas Most Common Attacks: Tackle, Flail, ???, ??? Ability: Swift Swim Nature: Mild Likes: Dry flavors Pokedex Entry: It is famous for its shabby appearance. While populous, they tend to cluster in set locations. Marking: Adonis' coloration is far from being the usual one for others of his species. In fact, he is colored more like a fish from the Tropics, which could lead one to wonder the origin of this particular Pokemon. His fins are a bright orange color, along with several stripes across his body. The stripes are lined with black and have some black speckles around them as well. On his rump, he has two spots (one on each side of his backside) that resemble eyes. His tail fin is black and tan with orange striping. He has unusually deep green eyes. Specialty: Breeding-Pokemon Personality: This Feebas seems to have a more stereo-typical personality for his species. Adonis is still adjusting to now being a captured Pokemon and is rather shy to many things. Sudden movements and loud noises will make this Pokemon go into hiding. One could almost conclude that the bum-spots he has had come from his rather easily spooked nature as a defense mechanism. Story: This male Feebas belonged to a school of Feebas colored similarly to himself. The school traveled far and wide through the ocean, which was quite unusual for Feebas as a species to do. The school commonly fed off the bottom of the ocean floor, mainly for safety reasons. One day, the male Feebas saw something interesting at the top of the water which looked similar to food. Curiously and foolishly, he investigated the food and chomped onto it thoughtlessly. It wasn't long before he was reeled in and caught by Phoebe.

 Name: Bubblegum Gender: Genderless Species: Ditto Most Common Attacks: Transform Ability: Limber Nature: Naive Likes: Sweet food Pokedex Entry: It has the ability to reconstitute its entire cellular structure to transform into whatever it sees. Marking: Bubblegum is classified as a "shiny" Pokemon, due to it being blue rather than the usual pink color. Only other distinguishing feature to this Pokemon is that is has slightly lighter colored cheeks. Specialty: Breeding-Pokemon Personality: Bubblegum is a genuinely naive Pokemon. It does not quite realize what this thing called "breeding" is. All this ditto knows is that it is meant for that, as well as it gets good food because Phoebe wants it for breeding. Despite the clueless factor, Bubblegum is a generally likable Pokemon and usually gets along with everyone. Story: Bubblegum was a wild Pokemon at one time, but it was having a particularly difficult time keeping itself well fed. One day, a Growlithe came up and began sniffing at it while it was lounging about out of extreme hunger. Eventually, a kind trainer came up and gave it a treat. The trainer asked if it wanted to join her team as a breeding Pokemon. Bubblegum, not realizing the real meaning of the term "breeding," accepted, thinking that meant it would get lots of Poffins.

 Name: Vegas Gender: Male Species: Manectric Most Common Attacks: Discharge, Bite, Thunder Fang, Fire Fang Ability: Static Nature: Rash Likes: Dry food Pokedex Entry: It discharges electricity from its mane. It creates a thundercloud overhead to drop lightning bolts. Marking: He is a "shiny" Pokemon. He is mostly black, with a slightly lighter gray underbelly. He has lighter gray "socks" that have darker black toes. He has a yellow mask, and yellow edging to his mane fur on his head and towards his rump. His eyes are a reddish brown. Specialty: Battle-Pokemon (more like a guard dog rather than formal battles) Personality: Vegas is a bit of a fireball. If he thinks you are someone bad, he'll zap you without question. Due to such a personality trait, he is more difficult to train. However, once trust is gained, you will no longer be under the risk of being zapped. He will still be prone to quick judgements involving character and motive though. Story: Vegas had originally spent much of his early life in a Pokemon Puppy Farm (though not the one the McPherson's owned). He was eventually sold to Team Rocket and used primarily as an energy source. His existence was miserable from day to day, until one day something changed. A strange black Growlithe managed to get into their energy room and decided it wanted to play. However, Vegas and the other Electrike did not want to play at all. So the puppy Pokemon instead broke all the machines that were latched to the other three Electrike. When she came to Vegas, he attempted to keep the puppy away, and even shocked her with Discharge. However, she managed to get Vegas loose as well. This selfless (though apparently clueless) act had gained his trust. After the pup had left the area, Vegas decided to track her down. Initially, he attempted to attack the Growlithe's human, thinking she was attempting to hurt rather than help, but after a bit of a reality check, he decided to join with this particular human so he could experience true happiness.

 Name: Juneau Gender: Female Species: Poochyena Most Common Attacks: Bite, Scary Face, Frustration, Endure Ability: Quick Feet Nature: Lonely Likes: Spicy Pokedex Entry: A Pokémon with a persistent nature, it chases its chosen prey until the prey becomes exhausted. Marking: She has a pelt that has multiple shades of gray and white. White masks her face, underbelly, legs, and the very tip of the tail. Her eyes are deep brown. Specialty: Undecided Personality: Juneau is a wild Pokemon that seems to have had some bad encounters with dealing with other humans and Pokemon. She is far from friendly and will frequently growl and snap at others to keep them away. She tends to spend her time laying about and skulking about. Despite how nasty she seems on the outside, this Pokemon does enjoy having company. Juneau simply does not understand how to appropriately deal with others, thus she frequently injures others. Log Book - Important Dates December 5, 2008 - Arrived in Zatao by ship.
December 12, 2008 - Found and settled into my new place. Renovations are under way!
February 22, 2009 - Renovations have been completed!
April 12, 2009 - Located a new fishing spot where Feebas can be found. Also caught a new male Feebas, Adonis.
June 19, 2009 - Found a hungry and strangely colored ditto. Convinced it to join my crew.
June 28, 2009 - Went on a camping trip, which turned out to be a Team Rocket Facility. Got out safely, and captured a blue Electrike that had befriended Dakota.
August 10, 2009 - Sent Vegas to live with my parents in Hoenn so he can get proper training.

Log Book - Locations of Zatao Places the Breeder has been. Katarina Town - More than a year after the discovery of Zatao, the pioneers found an ideal place for a bustling city. Located in the southeast in a large, fertile plain is Katarina. Already large, it features apartment buildings, a Pokemon Center, Hotels, Police Station, Pokemart and a large harbor. Trainers and the like arrive everyday in groups, as sea traffic increases.

Log Book - Acquaintances
Who's that pokemon?...Errr... trainer?  
Connor "Pa" McPherson - This is my dad. He's always been a fan of Arcanines, and owns Dakota's mother, Natasha. He's always been a great guy and always cheers me on with my ambitions. After all, he was the dreamer of my parents. It was upon his whims that my parents even started their Pokemon Ranch, which has brought them plenty of happiness and publicity.
 
Molly "Ma" McPherson - This is my mom. Her favorite pokemon is Mightyena. She owns Dakota's father, Rocky. She's the down-to-earth worry-wart. She's always willing to help out with the occasional gift, so when I receive a letter from home, I'm never surprised if there's a small token hidden within the envelope.
 
Lucielle "Grammy" McPherson - This is my grandma. Ever since she retired, she's been off traveling the world. She owns Dakota's half-sister, Gracie. She is a strange lady, but that's what makes her unique. I've learned that you never want to be on Grammy's bad side. Sometimes Grammy and Gracie stop by for a surprise visit at my new place.
