(This rp is between cowboy449's Niele and my Temperance. No posting please! )
It was a quiet morning at the edge of the clearing. Even the wind was calm except for the occasional gentle gust that caressed Teppy's mane as she traveled through the forest down to her favourite apple tree. This was a routine for the mare; she always woke up bright and early when very few two-leggers were about to wander to the tree. It had been a habit of hers when she was a foal.
Up the hill she went where the tree stood, flicking her long tail out behind her. Her two-legger had let her grown her mane and tail to a considerable length, and it shone with the care she gave it. But Teppy's smile wavered when she reached the tree. It was almost bare now, it's leaves scattered around the base. Fall was definitely upon the forest. As she took a bite out of one of the remaining apples, she thought about how the world changed, and how her foalhood seemed like such a short time ago.

Niele had been close by near the mare.She was eating come grass.Wet grass.Wasn't the best,but atleast it was something to eat.Niele didn't notice the christmas mare near by.She was grazeing on the grass that was left.Niele soon looked up and noticed her.She looked much prettier than herself."Hello there."

It took a moment for Teppy to realize someone was talking to her. It was so early she hadn't expected to see anyone out yet. She swallowed the chunk of apple before speaking... she didn't want to be rude and start talking with her mouth full. "Hello yourself."
The she noticed what the purple and white patterned mare was eating... soggy grass that had seen better days. "Would you like an apple? There aren't many left but I don't mind sharing..."

Niele blinked at the mare.Sharing,with her?"Apples?Sharing?"Niele walked over to the apple tree and look at the apples."I would love a couple.But I wont eat them all."She smiled lightly."You look like you need your strength up."Niele reached to the lowest apple and took it off the tree.She ate the apple quietly."Thank you.My name is Niele.Who might you be?"Niele looked at the apple she dropped on the ground and ate a little bit more.

Teppy smiled at the older mare, glad that she was enjoying the apples. Normally she ate all alone... it felt good to have company for a change. "Have as many as you like... if it gets any colder I'm afraid they won't last much longer." She laughed good-naturedly. "I'd hate to see them go to waste."
She nosed her apple before taking another bite. It fell from the tree with a thump. "I'm Temperance, but everyone calls me Teppy." When she thought about it her nickname was more appropriate for a filly than a full-grown mare, but she still liked it. "It's nice to meet you, I don't' think I've ever seen you around before."

Niele took another apple and put it on the ground."Okay.Thank you.Your right."Niele looked up to the sky."The snow might show up soon enough."Niele took a bite of her apple and munched on it."Teppy,thats a pretty nickname.Temperance is a beautiful name."Niele smiled at the younger mare."Yes very nice to meet you.Yeah.I'm always in the back of the herds.Alone most of the time.Its very hard to get a stallion like that."Niele rubbed her apple lightly with her muzzle.

Teppy felt a breeze and the chill it carried. yes, soon it would snow. She had been born in the wintertime but she could barely remember what snow was like. "Your name is pretty too, Niele," she said with a nod before nibbling at her apple again.
She listened to Niele curiously. "Well, why don't you graze at the front of her herd sometimes?" Then her smile turned mischievous. "I bet they'll be all over you."

Niele's ears purked up."Thank you."She smiled lightly."Well,I'm not that kind of mare.The much prettier mare's are up there getting everything they want.Me?Being swarmed with stallions?I'm doubting that."

Teppy couldn't help but feel sympathy for Niele. She wasn't the type that liked showing off either. In fact, she didn't like standing out in a crowd at all, even if it was by accident. "Hey, those mares are just shallow and like showing off! You're better than them," she snorted, imagining them strutting around. "You're smarter than that."

Niele looked at the mare.She really wanted Niele to get out there and find someone."I guess your right.But I'm not that outgoing to get out there and find someone."

"Everybody is shy, sometimes," Teppy said gently, her smile compassionate. "How will you know unless you try?" Quietly Teppy picked another apple and munched on it, thinking about things. She was just grown and didn't understand a lot, but she knew that sometimes things were hard to do and all one could do is try their best.

"Oh you have kids?" Teppy was a little surprised. She wondered what they must be like for a moment, and if she had ever seen them as a filly. She figured she must have not, because their names did not ring any bells. "Oh, I will, definitely!" She nodded excitedly.
"What's it like, having little ones?" Even has a filly Teppy had always been curious about motherhood, and what it was like.

"It sounds wonderful..." She looked off in the distance, a thoughtful look on her face. "Sometimes I wonder if I will make a good mother." She flicked her tail behind her. She was still much too young to settle down but it didn't stop her from thinking about it every once in a while.
"Have you had enough apples?" She asked suddenly. "Would you like to do something this morning?"
