A seagull was peaking at the ground not far from Ekun, father out stalked a black and white leopon. He wasn't looking at the black and brown juvenile, but not ignoring her either. The seagull just had his full attention at the moment as he wiggled in preparation. Since he wasn't hunting the bird, stealth was optional, and he opted to use it. Well, try to anyway. Not much a bold white and black cub can do to blend in to sand.

Close enough, a few yards away, he let out a 'rawr' that might tremble a blade of grass if he were close enough. Rushing forward, he accomplished his task; the bird had taken off and flown into the distance. Chest puffed out, he was prouder then a peacock at his fierce abilities.

Turning his attention now to the other, he asked, "There has to be a reason for what?" He had a different look on life, if he didn't understand, he asked his mother, her answer was the truth and that was that. He accepted it and there was no other truth, no matter the evidence. Everything was, or wasn't, no gray area for a black and white cub.

Sewelo looked to the waves; he knew why they did what they did. His momma had told him why they did what they did. "The Ocean is breathing, thats all. She is a living thing, a great giver and a taker." He had been warned that the ocean could kill, stories of his old pride being all by wiped out was in his thoughts.

Hearing her name, then his mother's he nodded, smiling brightly, "Yep, she is my Momma, I am Sewelo, nice to meet you!" Sitting down, he looked to Ekun, now dubbed a friend since she knew his mother.

It did make perfect sense, his mother had told it to him after all. Everything she said made a lot of sense. Watching the waves more, he turned back to Ekun when she said it was what they were going to do, and mentioned his aunt’s name, "Kamaria is my Aunt, Momma's sister! I'll bet you will find lots of cool things for her, she'll be so happy! I am going to be a fighter." He bared his teeth and pawed at the ground, fluffed up with hair on end. It was his display of how fierce he was, as if there was any doubt.

Proud of himself, he settled down and grinned, she liked his name! "Thanks! I really like your name too, it is fun to say." Her nickname was short and easy to saw, no time wasted in saying it. Looking to where the seagull was, he answered, "I am practicing to protect this pride, and protecting the little crabs on the beach, the seagulls eat them." He was such a grand defender, plus it was an awesome game.

He understood that, he wanted to learn about fighting and protecting. As his mother told him when he asked why there were three leaders, there was too much for someone to learn everything, so the more there were to hold the knowledge, the better. Crab got his attention right away. Looking at it, he moved to the side, just like the crab. Crouching down on his front legs, he eyed the crab and growled at it a bit.

Looking back, at her, he thought about that idea a moment. More members? "Momma, said that we have to go on rites of passage when we get bigger." He wondered for the longest time what he could do, finding others is a great idea. "There are probably other families like ours that had to move because they couldn't stay in a pride." It was already forming into a great adventure, he'd really prove himself and be able to save so many. Grandiose ideas flew in his little cubbish mind of all the good he could do before coming home.

Sewelo listened to her story, tilting his head in attention. She had a daddy who didn't know about her or her siblings? Thili was his Daddy, but his mother told him that he also had a father, where he got his leopard powers.

He hadn't thought about what his mother had said as well. "Good luck finding him, he'll be so happy to learn about you! I have my daddy here, but there is a leopard daddy somewhere out there." He didn't want to find his father, but wasn't out of anger, just lack of interest. He had a daddy, there was nothing else he needed with his mother around. Finding him would be neat, but not needed.

More members would be so cool, more to play with. Warriors would be very good, he would have help protecting the pride. "One day this pride will be so big, there will always be someone to play with and there will be nothing we don't know. Then what will we do?" He pouted in puzzlement as the idea hit him.

This was getting even more, more. She had two Mamas and a papa somewhere out there. He was amazed at the size of her family. Granted, he had two dads, so she just had it the other way. Listening to her family, he told her his, "I have my Momma, Daddy, Aunty Kam and Uncle Jehtro as well as my cousin Omoa. Then there are my five brothers and sisters and then my other father out there." Now she had him wondering about his father, all he knew was his father was a leopard. He wondered if he would recognize him if he ever saw him, and vice versa.

He was pulled out of his thoughts by Ekun's thought on his other thought. Hoping up, he excitedly agreed, "Yeah, there must always be something out there!" Taking one paw up he pounded it into the ground, grinning proudly, "Innovation, as Momma calls it, happens every time a wave grows." Nodding sagely, he sat up and held his head high, all collected for the microsecond.

His family was all he really knew, the leopon assumed that all lions had as big a family as he did. Tilting his head slightly to the side, he wondered about it a moment. Where ever he went, Ekun brought him back to the here and now. Hunting, oh yes, that was very important. "Luckily, Dad, Jehtro, and Momma split the work. Momma doesn't do it as much anymore, her job keeps her busy, but Dad is the best hunter that ever lived!" Since Sewelo wanted to be a fighter not a hunter, Thili would be able to keep the title.

Eying the water, he saw three waves, and wondered who thought those three ideas. It wasn't him, must be a lion somewhere far away thinking up all these ideas, four more were thought while he was thinking about it. Nodding enthusiastically, "Yep! It will be so great to go out and find those ideas." All this sitting and thinking wasn't working well for the active cub. One solution was always close at paw.

Standing, he walked next to Ekun. Without any warning, he touched his paw to her side and bolted up the beach. Turning, he watched to see if she would play with him.
