Gaia has released its new fighting game (beta version) to various members of the Gaian society. I know that they're now (as of this post) down to all members who've been here two years or more, so it's only a matter of time...
So, whether you're playing it or still anxiously waiting, tell us your thoughts! What Quests are hard? Which are easy? What do you think of the gameplay? The prizes? Got any tips and tricks? Want to organize a monster-hunting / quest-backup group of fellow HPGOG members?
Well, why not?
And now, I turn this thread loose. May it flourish and be of some use to you all.

TIPS AND TRICKS Junimaia Tip: In the Help section of the zOMG! game, click on "Combat, Advanced." There's a list of Ring Sets and what each ring set can do. Each ring set provides a bonus ability to your character when you collect all of the rings for a particular set. When beginning the game, you should decide which of these ring sets you want to go after right away, because you can get 3 rings straight from the beginner's tutorial, and ALL of the ring choices belong to one of the ring sets from the list. The faster you can acquire a ring set, the better off you'll be, because the more abilities you can have, the better. (Concerning the OMGWTF quest smile Jeweled_Raven I would suggest moving as a group and taking your time to rest and heal along the way. Once you get to the top by the gate, you have to fight six waves of OMG and then the final monster as well. People who are a must are those who have a Defibrillator and Diagnose. Jeweled_Raven [Y]ou may be a little discouraged since every monster you come across, especially those nasty flamingos, seems to kill you really fast. Don't be. After awhile, once you gain more orbs and your overall CL increases, things will become a lot easier for you. It may take a while, but it'll only help you in the long run. I'd suggest orb farming, which is basically just killing off the many creatures to earn orbs. What really helps for me is to do it in a large crew since then everyone gets all of the orbs you come across.

So far I'm liking the game. Where else are you going to get to duke it out with crazy plungers, grunnies, and lawn gnomes? xp I also feel like i'm in a genuinely Gaian atmosphere with all the Gaian townspeople to talk to and all the Gaian backstories people talk about. One of the things I was worried about for this game was whether it would really um... fit in with the rest of Gaia Online, this game has put my fears to rest.
I also like how they designed the game to make it necessary to team up with other people. It's pretty difficult to go solo in a game like this when you're being attacked by an army of golf course decorations. Though I'm always up for a challenge. Hehe.
I'm still deciding whether I like the idea of the rings for attacks and stuff since a certain combination of rings seems advantageous to the player; which reminds me...

I guess I'll make a decision on whether I like the rings when I've actually acquired a bunch of rings (I only have the 3 beginner rings so far)
Oh, and in case anybody was wondering, I've been venturing around the village greens area south of Barton Town...

I've run a lot of errands for the NPCs in Barton Town and I've been fighting stuff in the Greens and around Bill's Ranch.
I did notice something else advantageous about being in a crew. If you and another crew member are both going for the same quest (in this case, we were after a cow at the end of something I'm calling the Tunnel of Doom...don't ask), ONLY ONE OF YOU NEEDS TO COMPLETE THAT QUEST, AND YOU BOTH (or all) GET CREDIT FOR IT!
That made my day, because I basically served the group by doing a suicide run, drawing all the monsters to myself until I fell dazed, which allowed the other two to pretty well pick them off while they were busy. Despite 'death', I 'completed' that quest. It was nice.
My problem is that I am a very solitary person. I'll usually just join a crew if I feel that we can really work together, rather than simply wander about on our own...which is why I'd rather really work with HPGoG members and/or friends most of all, since I know most of you fairly well.
Juni: Darnnit, I wish I knew about those ring sets earlier. I've been chosing whatever takes my fancy.
I've got a Mantis at level three, though. It does a much greater amount of damage than the level one had. I'm now working on leveling up my Solar Rays and my Bandage. Got a new ring: Hack. I don't yet know quite what it does, as there was no description with it.
In case you didn't notice by those rings, I'm an extremely aggressive fighter, weak in healing and defense. I guess that, in most groups, I'm the back-up / kamikaze runner for the crew.
Out of curiosity: Has anyone else taken on the quest in the Village Greens called "Shroom Heads"? If so, I'd like to know if you've encountered a glitch where, no matter how many mushrooms you kill off, you don't get a single mushroom head. That's the problem I'm having. I get copper, but no mushroom heads.

I haven't yet, but I'm still working on quests in that area so I probably will end up getting that shroom quest at some point.
Oh, and I heard you can get badges from bashing crates in the sewers... which makes me sad because I didn't know this and completely bypassed the sewer training as soon as I felt ready.
EDIT: Okay, I did the Shrooms quest. Apparently you're more likely to get shroom heads from mushrooms closer to the gnome base. I picked off a bunch of them with a crew down by the Towns wall south of Remo, and didn't have too much of a problem getting the heads needed for the quest.

Yeah, I finally got those heads as well. Now I'm on the General quest. I tried it with a small crew a couple days ago and it didn't work - seems you need more than two people down there.
I have this master battle-plan in my head, but it's too long/complex to explain in the in-game chat, and I doubt anyone in there would be interested in it.
Basically, it's this: You get a large crew together and split it into three groups: Fighters (largest), Healers (2nd largest), and Defenders (Smallest). The fighters would be the front-lines offense against the gnomes, wreaking havoc around the General's base until he comes out, then taking him and his assistants on. The healers (one of whom would have to have a defibrillator ring) stand further back, working on keeping at least most of the fighters at 75% health through the battle. The defenders would play a sort of middle position, keeping gnomes off of the healers' backs so that group can concentrate on healing the fighters (as opposed to themselves/each other) and, at times, helping the fighters by drawing off individual lower-level gnomes while the front-lines fight off the general.
In theory, it's perfect. In practice, well, there's the problem of putting it INTO practice to begin with, and then with making sure this group of six, seven people can work together and stick to their jobs.
Looks like I'm stuck with the average, randomly-assembled crew. Sometimes I hate my tendency to formulate battle plans...it's a bit of a let-down when I can't execute them.

Honestly, I don't think my crew tried to even formulate some kind of battle plan when we went after the general. Basically people just yelled, "Are you after the General, then GET OVER TO REMO AND LETS GO!" rofl Our plan was simple:
A. Don't rush into the battle like an idiot. Rest & buffs right before moving in on the general ...obviously.
B. Have people heal as needed.
...and that was about all I needed to know xd
I acted as a fighter since my guy is basically a ranger with no party healing abilities.

I just started playing. I've been exploring Barton Town and the Village Greens. I already got dazed once when a couple flamingos, a few gnomes, and one of those fluffy things attacked me all at once. sweatdrop
After that, I decided I'd take a break of fighting and run around doing stuff for the NPCs in Barton Town.

I like the game. The last I played I was trying to get the gnome generals. I got one, but I kept getting killed. I have to stop playing the game though because it really slows my internet down, and it's not all that fast to start with, even though it's broadband.

You were trying to get the Majors, I think. There's only one gnome General.
I've still not killed him.

So far, I just beat the OMGWTF at Dead Man's Pass. It took a few tries and definitely some orb farming, but the other members of my crew were well equipped as well, so we all did fantastic. I would suggest moving as a group and taking your time to rest and heal along the way. Once you get to the top by the gate, you have to fight six waves of OMG and then the final monster as well. People who are a must are those who have a Defibrillator and Diagnose.
At this point, I'm about a 2.5 and have all of my ring slots filled. I've finished all of the quests, besides the ones that are needed at Zen Gardens, up until this point (Barton, Village Greens, and Ranch). Basically, all I need to do left is more orb farming, so you might see me wandering around helping others beat the Gnome Generals and OMGWTF.
Also, you may be a little discouraged since every monster you come across, especially those nasty flamingos, seems to kill you really fast.
By the way, does anyone know what your overall CL has to be to be able to go to Zen Gardens after finishing Barton, Village Green, and the Farm? I think it might be 2.5 or a little higher, but I don't remember. Thanks (:

I have one of the supercharger battery things, but I can't figure out how to use it. Any advice?

If you click on the double arrows next to your ring slots, it brings up mini-inventory slots on top of the ring slots. That's usually where your chargers and ring polishers go when you get them. Click on the charger to make it work. ...I think it gives you some hp and stamina back or something. I haven't really bothered to use mine much.
EDIT: Also, if you don't want the item slot bar on top of your ring slots, you can also use the blue cycling arrow button to the right of the ring slots to cycle between them.

I don't know what it takes to get into Zen Gardens through the gates, but I know that there is a way to sort of 'sneak' into them. Go to Bill's Ranch. Follow the stone path, turning north and going along there up to the very edge of that map. You'll end up in Zen Gardens.
A word of warning: DO NOT attack those cherry fluffs right off, thinking that they're easy pickings! I swear, they have green names (suggesting that they are evenly matched to me) but each time, I've been killed in what seems to be one hit (all 240 HP goes away at once). It's better to just run past them, as they don't seem to be too aggressive.
The dolls are also nasty.
I'm wondering if I should just go farm orbs for a while and then come back to the gardens...
Aside from that, I've finished the General quest as well as the OMGWTF quest and the Clocken quest (the only three I hadn't done in Barton/Village/Ranch). The second one wasn't too hard because I happened to be in a crew led by a member with a red name (which meant he was very high ability). The monster never stood a chance. I ran that quest again as backup for another group of people of the same (or in one case, slightly better) ability as me. It was much much much harder. On that note, if only one person has Defib. you must make sure that this person is kept safe and is never dazed...if he/she is, you're done for.
