Anyone else noticed that there is an obscene amount of eggs currently in the abandoned section?

Yeah I noticed. I think I read someone (on gaia) that it was because of some halloween celebration thing on the actual site forum, where everyone is breeding their dragons like mad and abandoning the eggs. I don't know if that's accurate, or why they would do that, but yeah.

Just go to the DragCave forum's Site Discussion forum.
People on there have been planning a "mass breed" in honor of Halloween for months, just because they wanted to. They did it today because lots of people had real life plans for tomorrow.
Even TJ09 got into it and bred "unowned" dragons. He said something about 538 eggs bred and abandoned from those.
Of course, the unfortunate side effect that no one really knew about is that having 20+ eggs on the abandoned page prevents eggs from appearing on the main page until there are less than 20 eggs there. Once the number on the abandoned page decreases, all of the ones that were prevented from appearing will appear at once.
I have to wonder if this will happen (on a smaller scale) again next week, now that so many people's dragons will be ready to breeds on next Thursday.

I see nothing but blacks when I go the the abandonded page, with maybe one or two other eggs. They're all commons though, so basically we're being flooded with commons with no chance to get the rares from the drops since the abandonded is locking the drops.

All I see is vines, with a mint thrown in here or there, a handful of purples, and a scattering of blacks.

Haha, TJ warned people of the 20+ eggs in the abandoned page screwing up the drops, but we went through with it anyway. There's apparently gonna be a huge drop with all the eggs that we would have had had the abandoned page been not full, so... I'm not complaining! I just hope I'm here for this giga drop. owo
Ahh, I love this event. I've got 3 alts from it - because there are so many regulars on the page not many people realise they're there. xD

They did some sort of egg mass breed for Halloweeen biggrin It's an attempt to help others get alts.
