I was just wondering if its ok. I'm use to irregular periods. My first year, I skipped 4 months like... 3 times in a row. I'm a virgin so I don't really believe I have to worry about being pregnant unless its the second coming of Jesus, but still. My friends say its because I'm underweight. Im only about 5'3, 110 pounds, and I'm 16. But I've also heard that it's caused because of stress. I've heard that one one this guild but all my friends say its not true. My best friend's mom just died two weeks ago and now hes moving and he is my world, I havent been adjusting to that idea well... kinda a drepression... so I wasnt surprised when I was late. But i just want to make sure. I dont feel like I'm underweight. I just want to know that its ok that I'm always haveing irregular periods... thank you heart

Yeah, it's common to have irregular periods, that's why some girls go on the pill to make it more regular and/or to help with cramps and stuff. Stress can be a major factor in your period, yes. But if you are really worried, I reccomend seeing your doctor.

Your friends are right that weight can be a factor with periods. When women drop to an unhealthy weight (usually under 100 pounds), they'll stop getting their period. That rarely happens to your average healthy woman though; it usually happens to women who are very mentally or physically unhealthy. It's a common side effect for fairly severe eating disorders.
So weight is probably not a weight issue with you because it does not sound like you have dropped to an unhealthy weight. 110 pounds is pretty healthy for your height. I am one inch taller than you are, I weigh 110 pounds completely naked, and I have been having extremely regular periods for about 13 years. It wouldn't hurt us to put on a few pounds, but we're really not in danger of starving or losing our periods over it. xp
And you're right about stress being a factor. In fact, stress is one of the biggest factors when it comes to late periods. Many women have made themselves late just because they were worrying about being late and possibly being pregnant!
But like Fia said, irregular periods are very common, especially if you've been getting your period for three years or less. So you're probably fine, but you can see an ob-gyn just to make sure. You also might want to talk to someone about your depression/stress.
