WHSSH! The white-orange-brown cheetah zipped past a startled looking herd of zebra in a flash of fur and tail and paws. Oddly enough, the predator did not end his flight in taking down one of them, oh no. He just kept right on running, whizzing past and going straight on away, soon enough just a dot moving towards the horizon.

Kuku had decided to go running for no real reason at all, and so he did. He had risen from his seat on a dusty rock and set off with no destination in mind, no end to match his means. Though he didn't know it, he was probably in part running to find someone...anyone. The past few days had been populated by random meeting more frequently than usual, but it stood only to remind him that he really was jamming in the savanna alone. Of course, he was luckily(?) too oblivious to realize he was bothered by it.

There wasn't much in this world that managed to get passed her. Siya had always been a particularly observant lady and, with the exception of Xana and his lies, had never missed anything especially important. The golden-eyed cheetah lady rested peacefully on the savannah. She was a little bit smaller than average and, despite her colors, hidden relatively easily within the shade of the long yellow grasses. It had been a couple of months since she'd slept so well. Since the birth of her children, who had recently grown big enough to not require her constant care and attention, she felt like she hadn't slept more than a wink.

She lay on her back, with her forepaws over her eyes, to shield them from the brightness of the afternoon sun. Her chest rose and fell steadily with every breath that she took. It was difficult to tell whether or not she dreamed, but that didn't matter either way.

At that particular moment, the only thing of any importance was the fact that she was completely unaware of her surroundings, and in the direct path of a stranger. If she'd been awake, she would have smelled him coming, or recognized the sounds of his paws as they hit the soft soil. But, that was not the case.

Running running running...Kuku reveled in that it was something he was good at. Possibly the only thing. Even hunting was often beyond him, his fighting skills sub-par...Still, he could run, and that was enough, right? Why worry about being mediocre at everything? Just having one exceptional--OOF!

He'd been so lost in his self-praising thoughts that he had managed to trip, quite literally, over someone. So much for being only good at one thing, he turned out to be a spectacular faller as well. He hit the dirt chin first and slid several yards, eventually tumbling head-over-heels to a stop. He lay, panting in the long grass, watching the sky spin above him.

"Uhhh...." He moaned, letting himself lay limp. "Everything's spinning...Oh hey, that cloud looks like a..." He trailed off, closing his eyes and fighting off vertigo. Mmm. He'd stopped way too fast.

Eventually he rolled to one side and sat up, shaking twigs and clumps of dirt from his fur. "What'd I hit, anyways? A rock or something?"

The abrupt collision knocked the wind out of her. Stunned and confused, Siya struggled to breath as she tried to determine exactly what had just happened. She was certain that she'd been hit by something. What? She didn't know. Her lungs hurt too much to move. The female wheezed and coughed erratically until air was effectively forced back into her system, and the world suddenly made sense again. Or, at least, as much sense as it ever had.

The scent of a stranger was all over her. Wild with caution, afraid that she was under attack, Siya jumped to her feet and bared her teeth at the unfamiliar male that lurked nearby. If he'd come for a fight, a fight was what he'd get. She may have been small, but she was absolutely fierce- vicious, in her own right, and on the defensive.

A low growl rumbled from deep within her throat and her tail swished back and forth menacingly. Who did this guy think he was?

The wheezing cued Kuku in that it hadn't been a rock he'd hit after all. This was...going to take some explaining. He'd toppled a good few yards, and he hurried back towards where he'd tripped, eager to apologize. Hopefully they wouldn't be too mad. If they were...well he could always run. And this time not trip over something.

Of course, he was almost upon Siya when she leapt up and growled angrily. "I'm sorry I-yeeee!" He reared back, startled out of his apology by her anger. "Hey, don't be mad!" He scooted backwards, stumbling over his own feet in effort to get back out of range. Gosh she looked so angry!!

"How about I make it up to you yeah?" He was talking fast, eager to avoid a fight. He wasn't the best at them, and she was a lady too!...A really pretty lady, now that he stopped long enough to get a good look, but with her teeth bared and ears back..."C'mon now! Being angry's spoiling how pretty you are!" No, he never had been the brightest bulb in the pack.
