i like it, i haven't used it for like two years.
Here's a drawing of a scuplture i did for my host mom because she wanted me to. It's by some spanish artist. name augh, i dont remember.

And here's a thumbnail for an illustration i'd like to think about maybe not doing. My hands had oil pastel all over them and the charcoal was really crap quality, so this is actually really messed up and i dont know why i'm posting it.

photos and some other drawings later.

I like the second one a lot. biggrin

I'm working on a giant charcoal drawing myself. Charcoal is pretty fun.

You're doing real well for a (re-) beginner. I like the second one more, though-- were you using newsprint or was the only thing getting those nice smears the oil pastel on your hands?

Anyways, my only beef with the first one is the texture. With such a serene subject, it might have been better to go softer and smoother.

Ah, i never even thought about the texture. I think it would have been better on different paper, but i dont have a lot to choose from.

I have'nt looked at the drawing, i cant remember if it looks this bad in realy life. it's not an actual scan, it's a digital photograph.

For the second i was just playing around on printer paper, which doesn't hold the charcoal very well and so it smears easier. Then the oil pastel on my hands would get on the paper and would repel the charcoal even worse.
