Where do you stand and why?
Please no fighting, just simple discussion on why you think your man is better.

One thing I've been told is this: "There are two things you never discuss with friends; Religion and Politics." I think I'll just watch this for a while, though I suppose it really can't last too much longer after Nov. 4.

I only discuss the presidential candidacy because a.) its something to discuss that just about everyone has an opinion on and b.) My states been decided since Obama was nominated.
And some times, but not here, because its easy to anger people. Ya know those mood where you just really feel the need to piss people off? I have those once in awhile. But that be what main forums are for.
Anywho, as I am from the dreaded Illinois and I know how my crappy little state is run by Chicago, I have the theory that were Sir Obama to win, as my boyfriend put it, we would be the United State of Chicago. So smokers, say goodbye to the freedom of smoking in bars and pubs. Beware of those cigarette taxes. Welcome to the closed minded country where gay marriage will never be legal. Hell, they might even find a way to force the few states that support it to drop it. And no matter what, if California thinks of it first and it pisses people off, we shall follow! But that's assuming Obama wins. And that the KKK doesn't get him.
McCain on the other hand, I really don't like Palin and with him getting up in age, if he were to die or something, we'd be screwed. Women shouldn't lead the country, especially in a time of war. We be emotional creatures. That's my main issue with him. Though I don't really care for his Tax plans either. That is why I fear for the country after Nov. 4th. Feel free to prove me wrong or give me a reason to actually vote.

i wouldn't vote, even if i could.
McCain reminds me of Bush. and the man's even admitted to it. not sure why, but i don't trust Palin. in the beginning i liked obama, but that's changed. he does things without thinking about how they look to others. like the not standing for the flag. i heard someone say he's wanting to get rid of/change the pledge and national anthem. (but the kid i heard it from is a dumb f***. so i'm not sure) plus i seriously doubt that would even pass. he also is very "wishy washy" says he stands for "this" but then goes against it. it just doesn't make sence to me.
plus i havn't really been paying good attention to it. i've mostly only heard what the people in my first hour class say.
so i think it's just best if i didn't. i don't care what P. Diddy tells me.

I was told be a buddy at work that they aren't voting so they can't complain. My theory, I'm not voting cause it wouldn't matter. All that bull they spread about one vote counting, obviously they aren't ruled by one city. However as far as Obama not standing for the flag or ridding us of our national anthem (first I've heard of it) but it doesn't surprise me. He wasn't raised in this country and a rumor I heard, they're not even sure he reapplied for citizen ship when he moved back. And I agree that I doubt such nonsense would pass in any attempt to remove either of them. We have far too many patriotic people in this country. Our military alone would outvote any of the stupid people we have who'd want to rid the country of it. I'd actually get off my lazy a** and vote against such a thing. That's saying a lot as I believe this country has become nothing but a load of crap.

Ok, me gonna jump in a little bit, since it's like what, two days away right? I'm gonna pretty much say the same as y'all, America's goin pffft and neither candidate can bring it back up. i would love to see the total number of votes we get this year compared to others ^^. Aside from that, the only thing I can really think to talk about is Obama doin all his change stuff to the flag, anthem etc. He is wanting to change the pledge cause of the religious part of it, and he said he wants to change the anthem cause it's too violent. Right there I just say NO. Saying our history is too violent to be remembered is total idiocy. One of my biggest problems with him though is his stance on guns. The Constitution is pretty feeble on this; it says and i kinda quote" And each man has a right to bear arms, with the objective of forming a militia." since that basically means you can have a gun if your in the army, Obama might get this change, but i really hope not. If it's illegal to have guns, then your just arming the criminals and leaving the law-abiding people defenseless. Since Obama's pretty much the only one on the news, I can't think of much for McCain, so sorry if it sounds one sided, I wouldn't vote for either.... Maybe we should all go Nader....

same here. i couldnt have said it better my self. on the news the other day, they said obama wasnt a born american, and that alone could disqualify him. they couldnt even do a security check, and they did a security check on my mom before she could be a nurse. i wont go into details, but with all this stuff on him wanting to change all that is crazy. anyone who would be voting for obama, and i mean no offense to anyone who is, but give me a reason why we should vote for him.
