Yeah, Meha is doing another Journey to the West deal. Only this is a month long event only. It will last through November with something new starting up elsewhere in December.

As most of you know the month of November is NaNoWriMo. While I normally don't take part in this myself, I wanted to try and get everyone's creative juices flowing. All the information you'll need will be in the following posts.

Prize information will be updated and posted here as the month progresses.

~Rules and Information~

-Rules-

1. Don't steal/copy or otherwise rip off anyone else's work. All of this must be your own writing.

2. Please -ASK- before using any noodle other than your own, and state that you have expressed permission to be using them. Anyone seen using a noodle without permission will be exempt from the prize at the end of the month.

3. Anyone who is an owner may enter this, however, the big prize(s) at the end of the month are going to be RP-required for the shop. That means I have the ability to remove them and re-home them x.x

4. Have fun with it!

-Information-

This is purely for fun for the owners at The Lucky Noodle. One or two of you have the ability to win special prizes at the end of the month, but these prizes are RP-Required.

While I titled the whole thing Journey to the West, you don't need to stick close to the true Journey storyline, you don't -have- to go west. You can go anywhere you want really.

Through the month of November, 22 prompts will be released. You're writing out a complete story, start to end using each of these prompts. Basically I'm going to post ONE prompt a day for 22 days. After that, the last few days of the month can be used to refine parts of your story and come up with an ending (if you don't make an ending using the last prompt). I will be reading these as people post them and sticking close to stories.

For your stories you'll want to pick yourself or one of your noodles as the main character. As you progress, you'll end up with three more noodles/companions as your side, the Goddess watching over you and at least -2- villians.

I'm giving you these last couple days of October to start choosing your characters and setting up your story journals here in the special RP thread.

Your story journals will include a post for characters, a post telling me if you went back and added to/changed/edited any part of your story followed by at least 22 posts for each prompt and any other posts you want to add.

I want this to be fun guys~ Have fun and I hope to see some REALLY good stories come of it. You have all month; 30 days for 22 prompts. Remember, if you have ANY questions go ahead and ask. Please post them in this thread so everyone can see the answer in case they have the same question.

~Prompts~

1. My Goddess

- Man and noodle alike have been at war with each other and the heavens. Many children of the Goddess have changed, their hearts twisted into evil or changed for the better. You and everyone you know is involved in this mess.
The Goddess has rallied all other Gods and Goddesses to make an attempt to resolve the dispute between man and noodle. You have been summoned before the Goddess to try and make amends and rectify this situation. Everyone is looking to you to change this for the better.

2. Happy little arhat

- You're elated that Goddess has chosen you for this monumental task. However it has made your rival extremely jealous. They try to argue their case with the Goddess, that they should be the one to take this path and change the world.
"You are the guardian of the past, -name- is the guardian of the future. They are to lead the world into a better time."

3. Tea Ceremony/Incarnation

- In the process of your joy and elation, the Goddess gives you a gift of jade tea. However, your rival steals the precious pot of tea and shatters it, putting all the blame on you. You plea your innocense but the Goddess in turn returns you to the beginning of your time.
"Steal their senses, mute and blind them. Leave them nothing to remind. Drain their memory, purify them. Like an infant, simplify them."
You are reborn as an infant to a simple family. You have no memory of your previous lifetime.

4. Good things come to those who wait

- You have been reborn to a simple family that has been offered a better life. By choosing to accept that life your parents have died and you as an infant are found and raised by who could only be considered monks in a way.

5. Grow/Riversong

- Growing up, you have learned much from those around you. You have studied and plan to travel to the temple of the Goddess and prove your worth to her. Upon arrival to the temple, you are greeted by the Goddess in disguise and learn the fate of your parents, but you are still unaware of your previous life.

6. To the Goddess/I pray

- You spend time in the temple of the Goddess, thinking about what has been revealed to you. While still unaware of your true past, the Goddess appears before you in disguise and grants you a gift. She asks you to partake on a journey to help mankind and the children of the Goddess.
Before leaving, you pray for advice, direction, anything to lead you on this journey safely. The Goddess smiles from behind and reveals her true form to you. Is it then she reveals you were chosen specifically and granted a very special gift.
"You will find your first companion within the coming days as you travel."

7. Thine enemy

- Having heard all of this, your rival is bound determined to find a way to stop you and take this task on themselves. They are stopped by the Goddess, but once free to roam again, they resume their task of following and stopping you.

8. The king

- You arrive at a mountain temple and find a fox-like creature made of stone. It sits very graceful, gold jewelry adorning it, a seal on it's head. By touching the seal, you revive the fox and quickly discover the seal is what was holding it in a stone prison.
The fox explains they were imprisoned in stone 500 years ago by the Goddess for wreaking havoc in the heavens. They are grateful you have freed them and agree to follow you on your quest in hopes of returning to their position of power before the Goddess.

9. Loss of face

- As you and your companion travel, you come across a village suffering a severe shortage in food. The villagers reveal to you another fox, this one under the power of a curse. You stay and quickly learn that this fox is the reason for the food shortage. It has taken place as the village leader and has demanded all food be given to them.

10. The dao

- You confront this fox committing the crime of taking the villagers food. They tell you it was what the Goddess wanted. You immediately know that's a lie and seek to find the source of the curse placed upon the poor beast causing it to both think and act this way.
Once freed of the curse, the fox agrees to join you to ask the Goddess for forgiveness.

11. The other side

- You've arrived at a river where yet another fox, this time under the guise of a dragon, has taken residence. They mention being the guardian spirit of death and leading the way to the other side. They also ask you to prove your worth, asking of your reason for coming to this river and why you should be allowed to cross to the other side.
The fox eventually agrees and takes you across where they shed their dragon guise and reveal themselves as another fox, seeking to be the true guardian of death for the Goddess.

12. Make 'em believe

- Your travel brings you to another temple of greed. Those that reside in the temple believe you and your companions to be great at swindling the innocent out of their money.
Upon revealing that you're innocent yourselves and working on the will and blessing of the Goddess, you are locked inside the temple with no means of escape. The first foxy companion reveals they know a way to escape, stopping the greed of the temple to take your gift from the Goddess.
As you head to leave the temple, you are pulled from your companions and poisoned by the words and greed of those inside.

13. This will have to do

- The Goddess descends to you and draws the poison from your veins. You realize your mistake and that you must find your companions and reunite with them. She notes that you have no recognition yet of your previous life-time, even coming this far.
Upon seeing this, your rival enlists the powers of a demon to go after your group.

14. Sileo/Seduction

- The demon comes to your group in the guise as a simple traveler with a shop and goods to purchase. Convinced to buy from her, you purchase a simple sleeping poison. While unconscious, she takes you and your companions prisoner.
You are threatened to fall to her whim, give her your life and the immortality she seeks or else risk death and the failure of your quest.
As you begin to accept your fate and give the demon what she wants, the Goddess once more descends to protect you. In silence, the Goddess takes away her protection from you and retreats back to the heavens to watch as your journey continues without her guidance.

15. I've learned mine

- The Goddess believes you've learned your lesson from her previous encounters and now hopes that you can continue and not falter along the way. She has learned her lesson of interference and now prays you learn yours.

16. How many more

- Winter has fallen upon you, making this already monumental task seem impossible. Shelter and food have become hard to come by and you begin to question the Goddess.
How many miles, how many more months, how many more years would you have to go to complete this and bring peace back to the world.
You reach a frozen lake that halts your journey. The only option is to cross it, but in the process the ice begins to crack beneath you.

17. Trust

- Once more on the correct path, your first companion begins to inwardly note the Goddess has not been protecting you since she last revealed herself. Frowning, they ascend to the heavens to plead with her to return her protection to the group.
She agrees on one circumstance. Another test of your faith. She creates a false kingdom where she is the princess and you are again faced with marriage or death.
(In the case of being female, the Goddess disguises herself as a prince.)
Before her, you confess your love for another and choose death. Smiling, the Goddess sheds her disguise and the kingdom. There she returns her protection to you to finish your journey.

18. Black heart

- As the Goddess destroys the false kingdom, she reveals to you a true kingdom in dire need. Returning to her heavenly home, she watches as you try to rectify this problem.
There you encounter your rival in the guise of a doctor. They tell you the king is dying and demands your heart to restore the king to health.
Your first companion intercedes and reveals many hearts before the 'doctor'. They demand a black heart and once granted, the king dies.

19. Fight for himself

- You banish your first companion for doing this to you. They return to the heavens to plead with the Goddess.
The queen is stricken with grief. You, unable to ressurect the king in any way, are arrested for murder. The Goddess watches from above, once more helpless and praying you find the power to fight this for yourself.

20. I would give my life

- You reveal you would give your life if it would ressurect the king. It is there you are stricken down and the king returned to life. The queen realizes that she has killed a servant (or child) of the Goddess. She returns once more with your first companion and brings your body to a river at the edge of the mountain behind the kingdom.

21. Revenge

- At the river, your rival reveals themself to your companions. There they unleash one final demon in an attempt to cause your quest to fail.

22. All is one

- In the fight, you are retrned to the heavens and before the Goddess you realize who you were. Your previous lifetime returns to you. Your companions are all blessed by your side as peace is restored once more.

For the Rival in prompt 2, does it have to be a noodle you own or can you make them up?

This isn't canon, right? What I mean to say is that our noodles aren't really going to be reincarnated, are they?
