ok im starting a campaign at level 30 gestalt. any number of people can join and you can join at any time. almost anything goes including home brew. if you are using something i have never heard of i will need you to send me the abilities and such so i can figure out how to counter it (and in rare cases decide if it is to broken). the only stipulation is that you can't be epic level yet. so you will have to take prestige classes.
for stats i want you to start a little high so 5d6 drop 2 roll 8 total and drop 2 of those. reroll 1s and 2s.
if you want to be official then health, skills, abilities and such need to be done each level but i won't complain if you add all your ability points before calculating your level 1 health.
the point is to build broken characters and have fun fighting things like the Trasque (and no i don't know how to spell that)
one of the first things you will be doing is an epic quest so after that you will be able to go epic level. i will say now if it is in an official book it is permitted. if it is on dnd wiki it is likely permitted. if it is personal home brew it will need permission but i doubt i will sat no. the only thing is that you can not start as liches or vampires or anything of the like. immortal characters at the get go are no fun but you may get the chance to become one at some point.

Dude.... I can so play this and mess around. And with thirty levels playing Gestalt, I can play a number of Prestige Classes that have related themes.
Definitely going to have fun with some arcane classes. I won't do anything epic disturbing, but I will be making the most out of the Gestalt permissions.
Questions at the moment:
"Liches or vampires or anything of the like" - What is "of the like" specifically? Are archons denied? (Probably my favorite races) Is this a race restriction, or is it generally an add-on template denial?
Starting gold total?
Total gold per item restiction? (i.e. the "50% GP max item" rule)?
Allignment restrictions?
General setting? European? Asian? Middle Eastern?

you can't have anything that would make you immortal.
and as for gold you dont have any to start you will have to earn all that. you have any basic nonmagic items you want though. there will be a back story but it will not be in any particular place.

ok back story
you were all on an island ruled by a man attempting to attain godhood. to do this he collected people of all classes and races on his island and had them teach him everything they could. he then taught every one else what he could. your parents whoever they may be were some of those brought there to teach him. so you were raised and trained by masters of the crafts. on this island there was a permanent protection from violence so angels and devils were coexisting (no alignment restrictions). while there this island came under attack. the members of the school there came out to protect the island but when they rallied they were teleported elsewhere by the leader of the island, Pug. the campaign will start with you and a small band of others appearing in the middle of nowhere with no adventure gear and only basic weapons and armor.

I'm down...questions....Gestault says that you combine 2 classes yes? can you take say...2 prestige classes at once if you meet all the req's?

well the simple answer is yes.
example;
fighter lvl 20
barb lvl 20
and
assassin lvl 10
archmage lvl 10
you just need to meet the prereqs though i doubt my example does just look at the lvls
so you could do one that is like this if you wanted
lvl 10 in any base
lvl 10 in any base
lvl 10 in any class for which you meet the prereqs
lvl 10 in any class for which you meet the prereqs
lvl 10 in any class for which you meet the prereqs
lvl 10 in any class for which you meet the prereqs
you get 60 lvls to distribute as you wish but they have to come 2 at a time. this means that for the 2 you take the better of the 2 base atk bounses not add them. same for all the other stats (HD, skills, saves)
also lvl adjust for races is ignored so take any race

yes they all get spell component pouches and are recommended to take eschew materials. if they do they won't need anything for any spell with the exception of a few things like diamonds foe resurrections. on a side not wishes will not be able to undo misfortune anymore. and there will be no exp cost for non-epic spells. also if a prestige gives you more lvls in a casting class that is already maxed it will give you one more spell known and one more spell per day at every lvl for each lvl it gives.
