 As you walk into the dungeons, you see that all the windows have been shut and allow no light to enter. A cauldron sits on the professors desk, but the room is empty. The walls are bare, and the pantry housing several ingredients is locked with a special charm.
Keep in mind that this class is required of all students wishing to graduate from Hogwarts.

Snape looks at his list of students who have signed up and shakes his head disappointedly at the lack of applications. "I don't see how these students expect to pass without the required potions class. I guess I shall tell headmaster about this," he tsks as he sits down and prepares for the first lesson.

Meanwhile, on a piece of parchment on his desk, he browses his list of Hogwarts alumni, checking off the students who registered for his class, and making notes on the side to dock points from houses whose students didn't come to class.
