It had seemed a terribly long time, that he'd been out here, searching. Morifaer was not the most forgiving of masters, but then...neither was Rossandol the god's slave. He would not allow himself to believe that. He was to strong and proud a creature. This simply...suited him, and he would prove his worth, and be rewarded. That was the way of life, the strong would survive, whether the strength be in mind or in body. Blue eyes scanned the surrounding grasslands, and he then took off running. Might as well cover new territory, that son of Morifaer's couldn't hide forever...especially not with a mortal with him.

Ka'hmesh was currently out scouting near the demon lands at the moment. He'd just recently joined the new pride forming to hunt the demons... and this was to be one of his regular duties, until they had more members. But for now, it made sense for warriors to also be scounts - as they could probably handle any demons they came across. Topping a small rise, Ka frowned - spotting a figure running toward him. A demon... or someone else running away from the pride?

There was a surge of elation when he spotted Ka'hmesh. There weren't many lions, after all, with a mane of that hue, and that told him that he was on the right track. Good fortune was finally smiling upon him then...for if what Morifaer said was at all true, then Ka'hmesh would know where Farlest was. Farlest...'Ros had to admit that he'd missed the godling. A surprisingly easy to sway creature for a child of demons...poor, pitiful Farlest. He'd definitely not been a warrior, but he'd managed to spite Morifaer all the same. Slowing, as he approached Ka'hmesh, he tilted his head, eyeing the other. Well-built, large for their kind...seemed Far's tastes hadn't changed. "Greetings to you." He started carefully, not knowing just how this fellow might react to a stranger.

Ka blinked at the other - having simply waited where he was to see what 'Ros might do. So ... perhaps not a demon. But Ka wasn't quite ready to let his guard down. "Greetings," he replied, head tilting just a bit. "Were you ... searchin for me for some reason?"

"If you're Ka'hmesh. Then yes. I am." Might as well be blunt about it. He was a straightforward sort of creature. Not that he'd tell the other he was on an errand from Morifaer. That would just be folly...practically asking to be attacked. He was unafraid of battle, but for it to happen needlessly when his mission was a quite different one just wouldn't do.

Another blink at that. Why... would anyone be looking for him? He didn't know that many others. The only thing he could think of at a the moment ... "Did you come from the pride? Is there somethin going on?" Perhaps he was a new member and had been sent to find him?

Ah, so they'd joined a pride. That was news indeed. "No, I do not come from your pride." He stated easily, "It's about the young god who was rumored to be with you." That he'd been following rumors would be a good explanation indeed, now wouldn't it? Ka'hmesh had better tell him where Farlest was, the fellow couldn't possibly be equal to 'Ros in the ways that mattered...all that had to happen was to be able to talk to Far...surely he could convince him of reason.

Young god...? Ka stared at the other for a moment or two, and then frowned. "I think ... that you have the wrong lion," he said then, slowly. He had no gods with him... and at the moment, his mind didn't connect the other's question with Farlest. It had been too long, and he'd tried to put the other out of his mind...

His ears flattened, and he growled slightly, "Don't tell me that." If this one was Ka'hmesh, then he knew were Farlest was, it was as simple as that. "Farlest. I'm looking for Farlest." Though perhaps the young deity had taken mortal form, a simple enough thing to do, after all. Best to jog this dense fellow's memory.

At that name, Ka felt his heart give a sort of jerk, his own ears going back a bit. Hell ... why would someone be looking for -Farlest-, after all this time. "He's not here," he said flatly, glaring at the other now. Then, softly, "He's ... dead. Has been, for a long time."

Dead...? Ros' expression turned stunned, and he took a step back. "That's...impossible..." He said quietly, before he snarled, claws sinking into the ground. "That little fool...died and I suppose you just let him, didn't you? Bah. Some protector you are." If Rossandol had been there, he'd have protected Farlest, he could have at least kept the god from DYING. Grief or anger, he wasn't sure what he felt just now...but anger was easier...much easier.

Ka growled in return, crouching down just a bit. "What do you know? Who are you, anyway?" he hissed, ears flat to his head now. This lion didn't know -anything- about what had happened... who was he to judge? Hell ... Ka had been trying to move on with his life. Not that it had been working very well...

"I know enough...and I am Rossandol." He bared his teeth to the other, openly aggressive. It was likely the other would know his name, but 'Ros as he was now was not sorry for anything that had happened in the past. Farlest had been a fool to run away...'Ros could have made things right, could have made them happy.

At -that-, Ka snarled and bared his own teeth. "You," he spat out. "Who are -you- to talk? If you had been a better... -protector-... nothing might have happened!" Sure... he might have never met Farlest, but at least the other would be happy. And alive... somewhere...

"He -left-!" 'Ros snapped, "I could have kept him safe had he not -left-! The fool didn't know what was good for him, and now look! He's dead! And all because of your own incompetence, because he chose -you-." Idiot, Farlest always had lacked common sense, being entirely too trusting, too friendly, never knowing where the wise choice lay.

Ka took a swipe at the other's face then, growling and snapping right back. "Yes! And he told me WHY he left too! You b*****d, you have no right to lecture -me-!"

"You have no right to lecture -me-, failure that you are! At least he didn't -die- whilst under my care!" Ducking those claws, he leapt forward, low, trying to snap at the other's feet. Ka would not outdo him. Feh. He hadn't even been able to save Farlest...Ros surely would have.

Ka jumped right over that and practically launched himself at the other. Normally... he preferred not to fight, but now that he knew just -who- this was.. 'Ros didn't have any real idea what had happened, or how. "Don't you think if I COULD have saved him, I would have?!"

"There is ALWAYS a way!" He roared, meeting the other in a fullscale tangle of fur and claws, seeking for a hold, seeking to rip and tear, strip fur from flesh and rend muscle.

And Ka was right there to meet him, with an answering wordless roar. As it was, they were fairly evenly matched, all things considered. Both were large lions and used to fighting, strong, tough. Both were angry, at each other and at things that had gone wrong in their lives. When they finally broke apart, each sported blood in various places, and were panting hard. Ka snarled softly. "Just leave me alone. Go away..." he muttered, sick of the entire thing by this point.

"With pleasure. And pray you never see me again." He hissed, snapping at the other one last time, before slowly backing away. Then he turned, loping back to where he'd come from with a slight limp. Morifaer...Morifaer's son was dead, and with it, 'Ros's ambitions. It was about time he found something else to do...some place that could truly appreciate him, where he could thrive. Not beholden to this b*****d who had caused the death of his own son.

Ka snarled at the other's retreating tail, forcing himself to stand tall until 'Ros was out of sight. Then he slumped with a low, pained noise - turning to lick at one wound along his shoulder with a slight wince. Hell ... he hoped that he never saw that one again.
