While her 'son' was off throwing a fit elsewhere, Ashling had found a nice place to stretch out in the sun to soak up all the 'pleasant' heat she could, a nice little rumbling going through her chest due to the given opportunity to take advantage of such a thing. But as was with all days in such a populated savannah she wouldn't be remaining alone for very long.

In fact, it wasn't too long until she was met by a rather interesting individual - a maned wolf who had first frozen at the sight of the lioness, before casting a glare over her shoulder to make sure that her 'other half' wasn't in sight of the female before pacing past her to lap at the water of the spring the lazy white lioness was lounging by.

The noise attracted her attention, however, Ashling looking up to the stranger with a slightly content expression, before looking elsewhere again: "I'd be careful: my son is a bit of a playful one and who knows if he'll attack you." she warned.

Causing the maned wolf to snap at her. "Shut up! No little lazy lion child could outmuscle myself or my Kati." she replied haughtily - in such a way that Ashling again looked to the maned wolf with a look on her face akin to 'oh ho ho?', paws folded across her chest almost knowingly.

"'Your' Kati? Sounds like you've fanangled yourself quite a male." Ashling commented, closing her eyes and sighing. Ahhh, what a wonderful time to be 'ignoring' the ghost, eh? It was in her opinion at least - pleasant enough to cause another smile to cross her face at the flustered sounds of the maned wolf.

"S-shut up!" she sputtered, whimpering a tad and seeming half-tempted to flee the scene.... but there was something that came to mind - an inquiry of sorts, really.

"... You..... have a son?"

She'd been expecting the curiousity. The stranger's short-temper had been enough to clue Ashling in that this female was yet to be a mother.

"Yes, and he's quite the wonderful little blessing." she added, opening an eye to look at her current 'conversation'. "Though a handful and a bit ungrateful. But he's all I have in this world. I took him in by compulsion, y'know."

'Took him i-' oh.

"So he's not actually your child?" the maned wolf asked and Ashling shrugged lightly. "He feels just as much a part of me." she replied. Which caused the maned wolf to shift awkwardly. "What about your mate?"

This earned an awkward pause, before Ashling opened both eyes to look at her conversation partner.

"I don't have a mate. I've yet to meet a male who wasn't a little plagued by the idea of my already obtained 'motherhood' in a sense."

No-... Why on earth what the maned wolf squirming?

Surely Ashling hadn't said something, had she?

"Ar-"

"SHUT UP IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!"

Ashling made a slight face as the maned wolf suddenly lept to her feet and bolted from the scene. What ha-??

What?

What the heck had that been?!
