Alright, i wanted to post a little something that may help with writer's block for all of you.

It's called, "The Program"

The program consists of these steps.
1. Pick a place to write. It doesn't matter where as long as it's comfortable for you
2. Download Sonata for two Pianos in D major.
3. Pick a time to write
4. Write ten minutes everyday at that time, in that place, listening to Sonata.
5. Even if all you can say is "I can't think of anything to write."
5.5 If it helps, use some writing prompts: http://www.inkprovoking.com/ this site is updated every weekday, and you can look at older ones.
http://www.creativewritingprompts.com/ is another helpful site
EDIT: http://theblob.org/raina/prompts/ is another

With freewriting you have to keep going. You can't stop and correct mistakes, or rewrite something. That comes later, in the editing process. But The program is about sitting down with no interruptions. Just you, your paper/keyboard, the music, and a steady stream of words flowing from your fingers.

For me, I'm most comfortable at my computer, around 10PM.

So, go for it, and let me know if it works for you ^^

I've found that that technique doesn't work for me. But, I have another idea to post... I may put it in another thread, but for now I'll just post it here.

Basically, you have to have something the same, every time you write. Say, you listen to the same exact song, every time you write, or you have an article of clothing that you wear every time you write. These things would be done only when you write. It happens to work for me. I have a pair of fingerless gloves that I wear when I write, and just putting them on makes me in the mood to write. =)

I so agree with you Kara.

When I write I find it's best when I am:
A. on the computer around 10pm
or
B. sitting on my bed with an old notebook filled with junk homework in the middle of the day with only one blind half open for light

XD that last one is really strange I know with all the little wierd things, but it works for me.....and I definitely am listening to music at those times. It helps me think, but I do tend to come out of a little "writing trance" [you all know what I mean] to notice that the music stopped playing like a long time ago.
