 The wind whips past her speeding body as Umicho runs across the Pridelands, a big smile across her face. She chases a bird knowing she can't catch it. Many times she has wished she could fly. Being able to soar through the sky as the wind whips past her. The bird flies higher and Umicho stops, drinking from a river.

Daniel grinned as he soared through the air, wings spread wide and catching the best undercurrents they could. As he flew, he looked down at the ground below, watching the gazelle sprint away at the sound of his roar, which rang out through the air as if it came from every direction.
Something caught his eye though, and he swooped down for a better look - it was a lightly colored lioness chasing after a bird before stopping at a river. Seeing this as an opportunity for a good time, Daniel flew over the river and banked back around, landing directly across the river from her.
He was an average-sized lion, but his wingspan seemed a bit large for the size of him, and this was apparently even when they were folded against his back, as he set them now. He said nothing, though, and watched her motioned with a stern look on his face.

Once she finishes getting a drink, she looks up and freezes. A lion now stood on the opposite side of the river. How did he...? She stops thinking to herself when she sees his massive wings. Her heart skips a beat as she looks over at him in awe, not sure what to say. "...Hello there."

Daniel flashed a grin, "Hello there," he returned, giving her a deep bow, which showed the full length of his wings against his back. It was fun to sneak up on other lions like that, especially when it involved the full span of a river.

Umicho tilts her head to the side looking at the lion's wings. He could probably fly above the clouds. "I am Umicho. Nice to meet ya." She smiles warmly bowing her head a bit in return. "What is yours?"

Daniel raised a brow, "Umicho, huh?" He shifted his wings on his back until they laid a bit better, their feathers smooth and creating almost a shell. "I'm Daniel Cameron House - call me Daniel, though."

She looks at him and smiles warmly. "Daniel, ok I will." Her tail swishes behind her excitedly as she looks at him. "Your wings are amazing Daniel."

Daniel grinned and puffed out his chest a bit, "You like them~?" As if to punctuate this question, he shifted them on his back. "It's a shame not all lions can fly - it's a great feeling~"

Umicho frowns sadly, ears lowered in a defeated look. "I'd love to fly someday. To soar through the air would be magnificent." She smiles again looking at his wings again as he moves them on his back. "Yes, they are wonderous wings. I bet you can fly through clouds. Is it fun?"

"It's a very good feeling!" he replied with a bit of a bounce. "Not as easily as a bird, but I can. It just takes a bit of work..." He fully extended his wings outward, and it looked like each was at least six feet long, and the iridescent colors seems to dance when the feathers shifted in the breeze. "Perhaps some day you'll be able to fly - amazing things can happen. And if not... Well, that's just a shame."

Umicho smiles as she backs up, then takes a daring leap across the river. She looks up at the lion with a bright smile. "I hope so too! Do you want to hang out Daniel?"

Daniel grinned at her and folded his wings back, one against his back and the other around her, "I don't see why not... I stopped down to have a bit of fun today."

She returns his grin with one of her own. She purrs softly feeling his huge wing around her. The feathers were so soft and warm. It kind of surprised her. "What would you like to do?" She always asks others first to be polite.

"I spend a lot of time flying," he said, sticking out his tongue. "I dunno. I observe wildlife a lot - the way other animals move is fascinating. I guess I'm kind of boring..." He had grown up making sure his dad didn't overdo it on the opium and flying around, so that was what he did not, minus keeping an eye on his dad. It had never been a real concern, only a mild one - he knew his dad wasn't stupid, though. So he spent a lot of time watching a learning, regardless of whether the knowledge would help him some day or not.

She looks up at him listening intently, what he was sharing with her caught her interest. "It sounds wonderful Daniel." Hearing his last comment she bats at his ears playfully. "Your not boring at all. I bet you've seen many creatures during your flights. Do you have a favorite creature to watch?"
