Sooo right now i have abouut 5 grand in my bank account roughly, and i've been debating whether or not i want to get a Wii. I finally decided i'm going to go for it, but when i mentioned it to Aaron he said before i think about getting a Wii i should get a new t.v. for my bedroom so we can actually see what we're doing on it.
This is a valid point. Currently i have a rather old t.v. I got it in grade 7 or 8 and it's served me well for many many years but it's like.. a 9 inch screen... maybe? It's the only t.v. in our house that still has a built-in VCR player that actually works, and it's both heavy and fat compared to the current models that they have out.
Now Aaron's brother Corey works for future shop, and he just got his staff discount so at the moment i have access to some very good deals. Basically, they get everything at-cost, so whatever the store buys the product for is what they pay to buy it with their discount. Utilizing this it is very likely that i can obtain a very decent t.v. for next to nothing, considering his discount along with his knowledge of what is and what isn't crap. Plus, i know he's not going to screw me over because to use the discount means he has to buy it himself and can't get commission on it.
The other option is for me to just buy a Wii right now and use it with the t.v. i have now, but the downside to that is that everything will be tiny as hell. Seriously, you need glasses to see what's going on on the t.v. when you're sitting three feet away from it.
tl;dr What are your opinions? Should i get the t.v. first or the Wii? I'll likely end up getting both of them within a couple months of each other, but i'd still like to know what everyone else thinks.

Wii- $250? Maybe $400 if you get a couple games, though I'd suggest getting some used ones at a GameStop or something to save a bit.
TV- Can probably get a decent one at WalMart for, what, $200?
And you have... $5000?! To blow?!
... Donate $100 to a charity, like the ASPCA or something, and then get a TV.
Then the Wii.
Most important is the charity. Spread the wealth. *nodnod*

I don't have the full 5k to blow. If Aaron gets hired at this place he applied to and interviewed for (it's the #1 engineering company in like the country or the world or something. They built the golden gate bridge) then we're most likely moving to either Edmonton, Calgary, or Victoria because that's the only places where their companies are. So i'll need some savings to stay alive when/if we move.
I've already made a charity contribution this year, and i just kinda want something nice now. We don't have gamestops here, but we do have EB games so i'm most likely going there, but i have to make up my mind before the christmas rush or there won't be any Wii's left in the city xd
